The brief eye contact had made Dylan's heart skip.
For a second, it felt like he had been caught doing something wrong, like a child being scolded without knowing why. And yet, he hadn't done anything wrong. Still, the way Sebastian had looked at him… it was intense. Sharp. Almost as if he could see through him, like he could rip his soul out if he wanted to.
It unsettled him more than he cared to admit.
"Are you good?" Lucas asked, glancing at him briefly.
Dylan nodded quickly, forcing himself to relax.
"Yes, I'm fine. Just saw my brother," he said with a small chuckle, scratching the back of his head.
"Oh… the one driving a wedge between you and Emily?" Lucas said casually. "Tell me, what's the deal between you two? Is he really your brother?"
"He's my stepbrother," Dylan corrected, his tone turning slightly serious. "And there's nothing going on between us. But Emily really needs to keep her eyes off him."
Lucas smirked lightly.
