"What did you say?"
Lin was slightly shocked at Ivan's words; though, if anything--he was angry.
"I am proud of him."
Ivan's expression was unwavering, his red eyes stared up indignantly into Lin's green ones.
"You kn-"
However, just before Lin could continue, Ivan interrupted.
"In fact, I'm absolutely ashamed at the fact that you feel you can scold my son for this. Tsk, such a softie--you are applying your bias towards your daughter to this. Maybe I am too, except I'm not getting onto your daughter for breaking my sons hand am I? Because it doesn't matter, as long as there is a winner."
Lin's eyebrows furrowed and his expression became darker, even the suns light dimmed its cast that was on his face.
"You, you really think this? You are sick--they are literal children!"
"I'd say it's great--after all, learning the art of combat at such a young age is truly advantageous."
Even when faced with a towering figure such as Lin, Ivan held his ground; he was not scared at all of Lin--why should he be? Lin was simply big, but Ivan had a mastery in using his Light Mantra Weapon. If it came down to it, he felt like he could win against Lin.
"So that is what your wife, Mei--meant by you being unsettling at times."
Ivan slightly froze for a second--Lin, really he was extremely stupid!
'My wife told him that!? Mei, you told him that! Here he is, saying it with such confidence... No, he is lying--Mei wouldn't say that. He thinks I'm stupid doesn't he, but wait--Eh? She could have... She may not love me, she may be over me! Mei, I'm sorry I'll stop being like this.'
'However, it doesn't matter--even if she told the truth, he is still mocking me; he mentions my wife as if it is nothing. This bastard, people like this are truly naive.'
This one sentence heavily angered Ivan, and not only was he angry, but he was worried. Such a combination, it is dangerous for Lin to keep pushing it.
"I'll just ask Mei, clearly you are unstable."
Lin snorted staring down at Ivan--all he felt for him was disdain at his behavior as a father.
Ivan simply froze Lin walked right past him; he was now processing Lin's new provocative words.
'Ask her?! Like you know her so well!'
Also the fact, why was Lin trying to force his judgement upon his own son!? This was something that crossed all the lines Ivan had put up.
He quickly turned around and faced Lin with a still stoic expression.
"Bastard, I already told you what will happen. He won't be punished, and that is final--talking to my wife won't fix that. No, not just that--if you continue to try and go talk to my wife, I will stop you--if it requires force, that is just fine. My son is mine to judge, especially in this kind of situation; you are just making problems, and getting Mei involved because I'm not budging as you spout some retarded reasoning won't help you."
However, even at his words Lin ignored him and kept walking.
One may say, Ivan was simply a clown and Lin was ignoring him--as he should do to a clown. In reality, it was the other way around; Lin was the true clown.
"Stupid brute."
Ivan decided to waste no time, and instantly swept through the air, dashing towards Lin aiming to swipe his legs.
'This brute, he will aim an elbow at my head to counter.'
Quickly, his theory was confirmed--Lin elbowed at his head, but Ivan easily ducked under it.
'Tch, of course.'
Almost instantly, Ivan retaliated.
Lin shook and caught his breath; his breathing became extremely more apparent as Ivan's knee struck his abdomen.
'Truly stupid, is this seriously the man teaching my child?'
At this point, Ivan was frustrated just at the fact his sons teacher was such an amateur; if he didn't have his job as a guard, he would for sure be teaching his son. Obviously, Lin wouldn't be enough for Koji's future.
However, Lin had not lost yet.
Ivan's body quickly turned to the right, dodging quickly the punch shot from Lin--after, he sent his hand out at a shocking speed.
'Stupid brute, this ends now.'
Though, Lin actually dodged his incoming hand at his neck! The blow, that would have been the end of this fight, was completely dodged--though, Lin still didn't have the upper hand over Ivan. In fact, this battle was over before it had even started.
Lin knew he couldn't beat Ivan; that was because Ivan was nothing less than a monster, his speed and strength, his understanding of combat far surpassed his own.
No, not just that--in fact, Ivan was the strongest Midstreamer that Lin had ever met.
'Such a strong force... Should I use a Relic? No... I can't--that would cause property damage!'
Lin was completely stuck; he knew Ivan wouldn't kill him, but still--losing to Ivan would be horrible in this situation.
Lin could feel the after effect of Ivan's earlier blows still, and they haunted his body like a ghost.
'You're almost done... I can see it, I can see it in your eyes Lin.'
Ivan aimed his red eyes right into Lin's.
He had a great understanding of light path, and eyes worked based off of light--scarily, this fact alone is something Ivan had focused on, and it bore many great results.
Just through looking at someone's eyes, Ivan could tell what someone is feeling 99% of the time.
It could be said that light was the biggest darkness when facing Ivan.
Ivan wasted no time, and dashed back--his feet dug into the ground as he stabled himself, and the light gleaming in his eye showed his determination; but it also showed his confidence.
This move, would for sure end the fight.
He drew back his leg, turned his body and prepared to swing his leg straight up at Lin's face.
However, an interruption came.
