At that moment, I could tell instinctively that the pain that went away all at once did not actually disappear.
“Whoa.”
It was merely transferred to Hades.
“Y-Your Grace….”
Hades seemed to have taken the pain from my heart through the power of absorption. I could tell the pain he was in through his tight grip around my body. His two arms were tightening with such force that my body in his embrace started to hurt.
His face was powerlessly planted on my shoulder, with hot breaths released from his lips onto my neck. His body was shivering a little from forcibly swallowing the pain. They were all proofs that he was suffering my pain.
“Haa….”
“What, what are you….”
Knowing the dreadful pain — how one would rather die than suffering it — I couldn’t help but be worried for Hades.
“What are you d-doing? L-let go for a moment…. Your Grace?”
“…I can’t,” he said as he continued to embrace me tightly. His cracked voice was giving me a heartache.
