Chapter 1: The Sovereign's Refinement
With the Vance Foundation in ruins and the Fragment of the Void-Heart safely pulsing within Leo's soul space, the world felt momentarily still. But for Leo, the "peace" was merely a countdown. The Global Tamer Alliance Championship was no longer just a competition for a trophy; it was the stage where the Cult of the Maw would likely strike.
"If we're going to survive the Cult, Grade-A isn't enough," Leo said, standing in the heart of the High-Gravity Training Chamber at the Alliance Hub.
Master Silas stood by the control panel. "You've touched the S-Rank power through fusion, Leo, but your body nearly collapsed. This month, we focus on Endurance and Technical Mastery. You must be able to hold the 'Sovereign's Aura' without the System's emergency life-support."
The Month of Hell
For thirty days, Leo and Samuel disappeared from the public eye.
Leo's Training: He practiced Spatial Partitioning with Nova. He learned to "fold" the air around him so that physical attacks would simply slide into a pocket dimension. With Amber, he mastered Elemental Conversion, allowing her nine tails to switch between freezing blue flames and disintegrating white heat in a microsecond.
Samuel's Training: Sam focused on Sync-Armor. His Primal Earth-Dragon King (Toro) learned to shed its obsidian scales, forming a living suit of dragon-plate armor around Samuel, turning the boy into a human fortress.

The Championship Begins: The Island of Trials
The first leg of the Championship took place on Aegis Island, a massive, terraformed landmass filled with shifting biomes. 5,000 of the world's top young Tamers gathered at the central stadium, the air thick with the roars of high-tier beasts.
"Look at the scale of this," Samuel whispered, gazing at the floating jumbotrons. "There are people here from the Hidden Sects and the Oceanic Kingdoms."
The First Leg: The Point-Hunt Marathon.
Objective: 24 hours to collect "Mana-Tags" hidden across the island.
The Twist: You can steal tags from other teams. Only the top 100 teams move to the Arena Stage.
"Leo Heart!" a sharp voice called out.
A girl with hair as white as frost and eyes like frozen sapphires stepped forward. She was followed by two twin boys, all wearing the robes of the Northern Blizzard Sect.
"I am Elena Frost," she said, her Ice-Phoenix screeching above her. "The Alliance calls you a hero for the Trench incident, but I see a boy who relies too much on a lucky snail. Don't fall too early; I want to be the one to break your 'Sovereign' name in the finals."
Leo smiled, a touch of wit in his eyes. "The ice is beautiful, Elena. Just make sure it doesn't melt when the sun actually rises."
The Hunt: Chaos in the Jungle
The horn sounded, and 5,000 Tamers vanished into the biomes. Leo and Samuel headed straight for the Volcanic Zone, knowing the heat would deter most Water and Wind types.
"Nova, Pulse-Scan," Leo commanded.
The Void-Aegis Sovereign pulsed a wave of invisible spatial energy. Within seconds, a map of the surrounding 5 miles appeared in Leo's mind.
[SYSTEM: 15 Mana-Tags Detected. 3 High-Value 'Gold Tags' in the Lava Cavern.]
[Warning: Ambush Detected. 4 Teams closing in.]
"Sam, they think we're an easy target because we're a two-man squad. Let's show them the Heart standard."
Four teams leaped from the obsidian cliffs, their beasts—ranging from Magma-Hounds to Steel-Apes—launching a coordinated strike.
"Toro, Continental Pulse!" Sam shouted.
The Earth-Dragon King slammed its tail, sending a shockwave that disrupted the ground, causing the attackers to lose their footing.
"Amber, Spectral Illusion!"
The Celestial Nine-Tail Kitsune blurred into nine identical copies. Each copy breathed a different colored flame, encircling the four teams in a kaleidoscopic prison of fire.
The First Leg Conclusion
In less than ten minutes, the four teams had surrendered their tags. Leo didn't hurt them; he simply took their points and pointed them toward the exit.
"We have the Gold Tags," Leo said, checking the live rankings on his wrist.
Team Heart (Leo & Samuel): 15,000 Points
Team Blizzard (Elena Frost): 14,800 Points
Team Shadow-Maw (Anonymous): 12,000 Points
Leo stopped. "Team Shadow-Maw? Sam, look at the third rank."
The icons for the third-place team were blank silhouettes. Their points were rising at a terrifying speed—faster than Leo's.
"They're harvesting teams," Leo whispered, his Sovereign's Insight picking up a faint, rotting mana-signature from the north. "The Cult is here, Sam. They're using the Championship as a buffet."
[DING!]
[Mission Update: The Predator's Trail.]
[Objective: Identify the 'Shadow-Maw' team before the first leg ends.]
"Let's go," Leo said, his eyes hardening. "The hunt just changed."
