Chapter 7 - Training Start

The next day, Quash woke up before sun rise and after getting freshed, he made some light breakfast then went out. When he arrived at the park, there were already many students doing exercise. And because this was morning, normal people were also jogging.

The atmosphere was extremely lively and up lifting. Feeling a surge of motivation, Quash also started to run.

He started slow and kept that place for a while before increasing his speed. Quash had figured out what to do about training.

Right now, it was nearly 6 in the morning. He will run until 8 of the morning with necessary breaks to catch his breath.

After 8, it is time for eating and resting before doing calisthenics. Since physical stats needed the most improvements right now, he will be doing calisthenics until evening. With safety in mind. After that, some snacks and resting before trying raise his Proficiency in his Skills.

He will practice until 8 in the night then go home, shower, eat and sleep. Quash deemed Aura Cultivation unnecessary waste of time. Despite not being that interested in physical exercise, he used to have Sessions of Aura Cultivation very frequently. Not daily but definitely once or twice a week.

Despite that, his Aura stat was a pitiful 15 after 11 years of Cultivation. Every kid in this world starts training from the age of 5 after all.

And it's not like he didn't get any help from his parents and grandparents. They gave him instructions and tips. And the reason they didn't give any Pills or Elixir to improve his Aura stat was because external energy increasing vectors have impurities that will definitely hamper his growth in long term.

And there was matter of availability as well, the Grundleas city was a place dominated by normal population. Even though there are thousands upon thousands of people his age are training to get into Academy City, it is hard to say if even 5 can enter from this city.

The density of this area is also relatively sparse when it should have been the opposite because of such naturally sweet water. In theory, Grundleas city was supposed to be very rich in water type Natural Energy that could birth water type treasure but the reality is opposite.

There were no monsters around here because of the lack of Natural Energy, and the ones that are here can be killed with local authorities.

And because of that, there isn't any need for the economy to revolve around monster killing and power ups. Thus, there was not much need for any supernatural stuff jeered around here, creating sparsity.

Because of these factors, his family couldn't get him any Pills or Elixirs.

There was also matter of his own talent as well. Talent for Knights have different meaning then normal. To the Knight Path, a person is considered talented only when their body can suck it large amount of Natural Energy and store it inside the body.

In the Lower Dantian specifically. The amount could suck in was abysmal.

And because of that, he decided to not think of Aura at the moment and refine his motor controls. Because control is key. He needed to get full control of what he has at this moment before moving on. If he couldn't even fully utilise his current strength, wouldn't that mean he will be wasting potential advantage to get a better rank?

So with that in mind, Quash was determined to follow the training regime he has come up with. It was nothing crazy, but it fitted his needs.

Quash was now sitting under a tree to rest. He ran for 20 minutes in full speed. He looked to his left and saw the sun slowly creeping up from the horizon.

The lack water smeared in the sun's light. The lake was so big that the other side can't be seen because of the curve of the planet. But if one looks closely, faint tips of builds could be seen from this side.

Quash silently watched the sun rise when he remembered a photo of the sun rise. A ran photo captured by some insane person who has nothing better to do in life.

They calculated and waited 5 years to capture a perfect shot where the sun's reflection is fully encompassed the smaller lack. The lack was also quite that day. Making it look like two sun's have emerged. It went viral in the Internet and was talk of the town for a while.

As he was thinking about the sun, Quash noticed that he has recovered significantly and can run again. So he stood up and started once again. But from his previous two runs, Quash understood that just running is very inefficient. His Dexterity stat may rise eventually but that is not enough.

Then he suddenly remembered his foot work skill. Flowing Water Footwork Technique.

This is one of three the basic skills taught in school to everyone for free. Anyone who wants to walk Knight Path that is. His father, mother, grandparents, everyone used the same Skills but ther mastery was monsterious.

For other paths, Grundleas city doesn't have anything. If one wants to walk on some other path, they are on their own.

That's why there are only sweating and grunting students early in the morning.

But regardless, Quash couldn't use the Footwork to run because that's not what it does. The Flowing Water Footwork Technique is compatible with Tri-Sword Formation. Basically, it is for short range maneuvering and seamless movement in fight.

It teaches how to use the lower part of the body effectively. Doesn't that mean he could use some principles to enhance his training effectiveness?

Quash ran as he recalled the steps.

Left leg firmly planted on the ground, chest slightly leaned forward to increase power of chop.

Right leg firmly planted behind, body weight shifted to the left to increase effectiveness of pray.

Both legs firmly planted in ground with left leg diagonal to the right to increase power of thrust.

The basic things the Footwork Technique does. But it is definitely not usable as it is. The Footwork also delves deep into center of gravity and how one can use it to their advantage. Leg muscles intro for better idea of what is working how.

Quash started to think hard on how to use the principles and what principles to use as he ran. Then a vague idea came to mind. And as the idea started to take shape, the more sense it made.
