Chapter 22: The Weight of Responsibilities
After Obito and Rin returned to Earth, Ahens once again sank into its usual silence.
In the grand hall of the royal palace, King sat upon his golden throne, reviewing the affairs of the kingdom. Complete silence filled the hall, with only the faint light of the torches flickering across the walls.
Suddenly, a vortex of dark energy appeared in the center of the hall.
A few moments later, Gara stepped out of it.
It was clear from his face that he was extremely angry.
"King!"
His booming voice echoed throughout the hall.
King looked up and said with a slight smile,
"Welcome, Gara."
Gara asked directly,
"Has Obito left?"
King nodded.
"Yes, he returned to Planet Earth this morning."
The moment Gara heard that, the displeasure on his face deepened.
"He suddenly disappeared during the match!"
"He left the battle unfinished!"
"I won't let him off so easily."
King chuckled softly.
"It seems your anger still hasn't cooled down."
Then he asked with a smile,
"By the way, what brings you here today?"
Gara took a deep breath and tried to calm himself.
"I came to discuss the real matter."
"All preparations have been completed."
"We are fully ready to begin the operation in ten days."
Hearing this, King fell silent for a few moments.
Then he said in a serious tone,
"I'm sorry, Gara."
"This time, I won't be able to go with you."
Gara was surprised.
"Why?"
A slight smile appeared on King's face.
"My grandson Wang's wedding is in ten days."
"I cannot miss such an important moment of happiness for my family."
"Therefore, you will have to take full responsibility for the operation yourself."
Gara listened quietly.
King continued,
"The Queen and I will leave for Earth two days before the wedding."
"But the kingdom's security must also be maintained during our absence."
"So the responsibility of protecting the kingdom will be entrusted to your family."
Gara nodded seriously.
"Alright."
But in the very next moment, annoyance appeared on his face again.
"There's something I don't understand."
"My sister's grandson is getting married..."
"And I didn't even know about it!"
"No announcement. No invitation."
King burst out laughing.
"Actually, Obito left a special message for you before he departed."
Gara looked surprised.
"What message?"
Repeating Obito's exact words, King said,
"Tell Uncle Gara that I'm sorry."
"I couldn't inform him about Wang's wedding in time."
Silence filled the hall for a few moments.
Then Gara let out a long sigh.
"That boy really is strange."
King smiled softly.
"Don't worry."
"After the wedding, Obito, Wang, and Wang's wife will come to Ahens."
"Then you can scold them as much as you want."
A slight smile appeared on Gara's lips as well.
"Then I'll settle the score."
The two remained silent for a few moments.
Then Gara spoke in a serious tone once again.
"In ten days, I will depart across the sea."
"The operation will begin under my supervision."
"And my family will protect the entire kingdom during your absence."
King stood up from his throne and walked toward Gara.
He placed a hand on Gara's shoulder.
"I trust you completely."
"If there is anyone in this world capable of handling this responsibility, it is you."
Gara bowed his head respectfully.
"I will not disappoint you, King."
Silence once again filled the hall.
But both of them knew that the days ahead would be far from ordinary.
On one side was Wang's wedding.
On the other side was the secret operation beyond the sea, upon which the future of the entire world depended.
And this time...
The command of that dangerous mission rested entirely in Gara's hands.
Far beyond the sea, a mysterious power was awakening.
A power that would not be easy to confront.
