Chapter 21: Defeat
The battle had reached its peak.
Suddenly, Gara vanished into the air.
Obito immediately looked around, but there was no sign of him.
In the next instant, Gara appeared behind him and launched a sword strike at lightning speed.
Obito sensed the danger and quickly dodged to the side.
However, Gara gave him no time to recover.
He spun around and delivered a powerful kick to Obito's chest.
Boom!
Obito was sent flying and crashed into a massive pillar.
Before he could regain his balance, Gara teleported in front of him and swung his sword for a deadly attack.
But just before the blade could reach Obito, a terrifying dark energy surrounded Gara.
Darkest Aura!
The overwhelming pressure forced Obito to retreat.
Gara then closed his eyes and gathered all his power into his sword.
Infinite Slash!
A devastating wave of energy shot across the battlefield.
The attack was so powerful that several giant pillars of the Heavenly Arena shattered and began falling toward the world below.
At that moment, Rin was walking through the palace garden.
She suddenly saw one of the enormous pillars falling directly toward her.
Fear filled her heart.
"OBITOOOO!"
she screamed.
However, before the pillar could reach her, it disappeared.
King's protective magic shield had already covered the entire city.
Back in the battlefield, Obito heard Rin's scream.
His heart skipped a beat.
Without thinking, he turned his eyes away from Gara.
That single moment was enough.
Gara immediately took advantage of the opening.
His sword flashed.
Slash!
The attack struck Obito's sword arm.
Obito's sword slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.
In the next second, Gara's blade was resting against Obito's throat.
Silence filled the battlefield.
"You have lost, Obito," Gara said coldly.
But suddenly, Obito disappeared.
When he reappeared, he was standing beside Rin in the palace garden.
Fear was visible on his face.
"Rin! Are you okay? What happened?"
Rin looked at him in surprise.
"I'm fine. A giant pillar was falling toward me. I got scared and screamed, but before it could hit me, it vanished."
At that moment, King and Queen arrived.
King calmly said,
"Rin is unharmed. I placed a protection shield over the entire city to make sure no one would get hurt."
Then he turned toward Obito.
"But you lost the match."
"You will not participate in the operation."
Obito immediately protested.
"Father, I heard Rin's scream. That's why I looked away from Gara."
King shook his head.
"A loss is a loss, Obito."
"You took your eyes off your opponent during battle. That was your mistake."
His expression became even more serious.
"And after that, you abandoned the battlefield and teleported away."
"Your uncle Gara is already furious about it."
"Even if I gave you permission, he would not allow you to join the operation."
"I have already handed full responsibility for this mission to him."
Obito lowered his head.
"I understand, Father."
After a brief silence, he spoke again.
"Besides, Rin and I are returning to Earth tomorrow."
"We still have wedding preparations to make."
King nodded.
"Very well."
That night, inside the palace...
Obito and Rin were sleeping together in their room.
But peace did not come to Obito.
As soon as he fell asleep, horrifying memories returned once again.
Screams.
Blood.
Destruction.
Pain.
The suffering of the people he loved.
Obito suddenly woke up in terror.
His body was covered in sweat.
Rin immediately sat beside him.
"Obito?"
"Are you okay?"
Obito lowered his eyes.
"Rin..."
"Ever since I came to Ahens, those painful memories have been returning."
"The memories I wanted to forget."
His voice trembled.
"Whenever I close my eyes, I feel as if my family is trapped in that nightmare all over again."
Rin gently held his hand.
"Go back to sleep."
"I'm right here."
"I'm not leaving you."
"And besides, we're going home tomorrow."
Her words brought a small sense of comfort to his heart.
Meanwhile, in King's chamber...
King and Queen were sitting together.
Queen spoke with concern.
"Did you see what happened during the battle?"
"For a moment, Obito completely lost control of his powers."
"Do you think those memories are still haunting him?"
King took a deep breath.
"Yes."
"I think so too."
"That's one of the reasons I didn't let him stay in Ahens."
A few moments passed in silence.
Then King quietly said,
"If it were up to me..."
"I would never have allowed him to come to Ahens in the first place."
The next morning...
It was finally time to leave.
Obito, Rin, King, and Queen stood before the grand gates of the palace.
King raised his hand and commanded,
"Nuruddin!"
"Open the All Gates of World!"
Nuruddin respectfully bowed his head.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Moments later, a giant golden portal appeared in the sky.
Tears filled Queen's eyes.
She hugged both Obito and Rin.
"Take care of yourselves."
Then Obito embraced his father.
King placed a hand on his shoulder.
"We will come when the time is right."
"Do not worry about us."
Obito nodded.
"Yes, Father."
The two stepped into the portal.
A bright light swallowed them.
The portal slowly closed.
After they were gone, tears rolled down Queen's cheeks.
King silently stared at the sky.
Earth...
The garden of Obito's home.
Dark clouds suddenly gathered overhead.
CRACK!!!
A powerful bolt of lightning struck the center of the garden.
The light faded.
Two figures stood where the lightning had landed.
Obito and Rin had returned to Earth.
But neither of them knew...
that the most dangerous chapter of their lives was about to begin.
