Chapter 34 - Killing a mountain of souls, Part 6

When Skin thinks about Man-man she feels a connection of love. Her blessing is quite unique in a sense that if she uses her Love heal for a Chosen. Then it connects her to that Chosen.

That connection is what ensure that her blessing keeps on working. But that love wasn't the strongest as it was enforced. She could turn it off or on sub-consciously without worrying about doing it herself to keep that illusion of love.

However, now that she has find a true love. A love that is from both sides or a feeling that is from both sides. Skin has an obsession or something that she wants to cling to so desperately and Man-man isn't sure about his own emotions so it is a mystery to him.

Even if it is still a hot mess. There is something that is binding them together and that is what her blessing using it to make the strongest connection of love.

Skin can't wait to meet him again and show him how much she loves him and herself too. That was the deal, right? If she loves herself then he would love her back.

From Man-man perspective these were just words. But Skin is taking them seriously. Even though she isn't executing them very well. That is because she is being stabbed by her enemies in various places.

Midori has ten puppets and now that Skin can't surprise attack these half dead. She can't land a proper hit to kill them. They've adapted to her last trick of walking on all four. So, it isn't going very well.

Not to mention, Midori is very good at taunting her with her mirroring and she has no idea where is the real Midori. Is she invisible or is she hiding is some other place? Skin isn't sure.

All she can do is kill and she has gotten an idea that might break her promise to Man-man a little.

The puppets are using a simple tactic. One hit and then jump away form danger. It is working well that is because Skin is currently littered with wounds. Midori's plan seemed to be just bled Skin out and length this battle as long as she can.

It doesn't matter if She doesn't have time. She isn't going to risk her life away an opponent who is a wild monster.

But Skin isn't just a wild monster. She is a Chosen.

A puppet attacks her with its sword. Its tactic is simple hit and run but Skin didn't just let it be a single hit. Skin pushes her body towards the weapon and deepens the wound that was just suppose to a simple hit. The sword pushes deeper into her flesh and gets stuck inside of it. That is because of her tensing her muscles as it slides inside of her flesh.

The puppet tries to pull it but fails. It is taken off guard. No one hurt themselves to win a fight. But Midori made that mistake again. Skin isn't someone who will shy from getting hurt.

Skin uses that little time that she has acquired and uses her full force in her swing. She pierces her polearm (dicky) deep into its chest and break apart everything inside of its body.

One puppet dies. Nine remaining.

This tactic won't work again. But doing so she has acquired an ally. The body of the puppet turns into a sinned soul. A sinned soul is on nobody's side but it will hunt anyone who will get in its way.

Skin will take advantage of that and hunt these puppets. One by one, Midori watches it all happen with disgust.

'Vermin. A disgusting piece of vile shit.'

Skin smiles as she is moving towards another puppet with the sinned soul. She is behind the sinned soul and will attack from the sides.

Puppet would have to focus on her or the sinned soul. If they focus on sinned soul. Skin will kill them. If they focus on Skin then sinned soul will harm them and slow them down. That would just make it easier for Skin to hunt them later.

A creepy disturbing smile appears on her bloody face. Midori's face, on the other hand, is filled with hate. She will have to join the fight if she doesn't want to lose her puppets against this Chosen named Skin.

Mor dodges an attack from the knight. Its attacking style isn't related to any style that is known by Mor. The creature fights like a machine that only wants to kill and if it can't kill its opponent. Then it adapts slowly to make different decisions to counter its opponent.

The knight's attacks have changed. It is using its large spear much more than usual. It threatens to slash Mor with its sharp point and if Mor tries get away from the knight.

It attacks throws the large spear at him. Mor has to be much more aware of its attacks as it seemed to has gathered what will work against him and what wouldn't.

For now, Mor is trying to prevent its large spear to return back to the knight. But he is failing at doing so. That is because the spear also has some sort of intelligence in it. It changes paths, make decisions and decides the appropriate setup.

Mor doesn't have any way to block it from returning to the knight. His blessing can be helpful but if does that then the knight itself will attack him. That wouldn't be ideal.

He attacks with its sludge hammers and manages to imbalance the knight but its four legs help it gain its balance instantly. And so, the fight continues.

Mor doesn't mind battling a stronger opponent. He actually enjoys it very much. But he is worried about his people. He trusts them to survive against these sinned souls. But anything can happen in the battle field. His people aren't invincible.

'Speaking of my people…'

His attention moves to the newest member of his group, Calus. He had told him to move to others. But he didn't and stayed with Mor to fight the knight.

He hasn't been any help.

Calus's bone weapons can't pierce the knight's armor. There also doesn't seem to be any space between the armor plats where he can't stab its flesh or whatever it is made out of.

He thinks that if he can hurt it. Then he has contributed something in this fight. He is spiteful enough to do anything to prove himself. It didn't surprise Mor that he manages to get on the knight back and get near the knight's visor.

Mor shouts.

"Get down from there. It is an order."

Calus shouts back with spite.

"Shut your facehole, Mor-ron. Let me do my thing."

Calus grows few sharp bones from between his knuckles and stabs it inside the visor of the knight. He wants to blind the knight so Mor can deal with this thing.

However, that doesn't seem to happen. He actuals stabs nothing. Calus can't understand why or how? What is the point of being a visor if there is nothing at all inside of it.

The knight has noticed the bug on its face and so, the knight opens its human armor to reveal thousands of sharp teeth.

Calus doesn't get the chance to get away and he is about to get eaten by the knight. But before that could happen Mor steps in between the Knight meal of a Chosen.

He hits Calus with his hammer and throws him far away. The knight also doesn't just stand their and attack Mor with its spear. He manages to bounce off of it with its hammer.

"Are you okay, Cal-"

Calus complains.

"You fucking Moron. Why did you hit me? You turn my precious bones into powered."

Mor doesn't understand what else was he suppose to do. That was the safest way to get him out of the way.

He whispers to himself.

"I was just trying to help…"

Mor looks disappointed cause his effort isn't appreciated. But he has more important things to worry about right now.

The knight had thrown its large spear and strangely enough its target wasn't Mor. It was actually a sinned soul now it is stuck in the spear and being dragged towards the knight. Then it devious the creature.

It is good info that it needs sustenance. Mor can't really prevent it from devouring these sinned souls though. As it can just use the spear to caught another one for itself.

If the knight and the large spear can be separated. Then there is some chance for Mor to deal with the knight.

"Calus?"

He replies.

"I said I am not leaving, Mor-ron. are your ears have fallen off?"

Mor accepts that as he is still capable of moving and doing the task that he wants him to do.

"I will make it throw the spear. You will have to catch it and prevent it from returning."

Calus does even get to ask 'How is he suppose to do that'. Mor is already moving to fight the knight. He is starting to thinking that dying is better than working under this man.

Mor uses his hammers to attack the knight but it blocks the attack. But are using their own skills and strength to overpower the another.

However, Mor doesn't move as his blessing prevents any external force to move him. Because of that, knight seem to be forced back. Mor is stronger but he needs to be careful. He is still susceptible to stabbing.

He won't harm himself just to get a single hit on one enemy. He needs to be calculative and think of future in his decision.

The battle continues and the knight finally seem to be irritated from him. It swings the spear at Mor and so he jumps back. In return, it throws the spear at him.

This is what he was planning to do.

The large spear moves towards Mor with terrifying speed. But Mor attacks the spear with full force and throws it away from himself. The spear will return back to knight.

However, it is caught in something. A web of bones that is made by Calus. The web of bones isn't as big and isn't as strong. But it has caught the spear complete and grew on it too. Calus also has stuck himself inside of the ground so not fly away with it.

'Take that piece of junk.'

Mor makes his move. He knows that Calus can't hold that large spear for long. He has to kill it before the spear is freed form the bone web.

The knight also has sensed what is amiss. It runs towards the Calus in full speed. It is going to crush Calus and break free its large spear. But before it can reach callus. Mor gets in its way.

The knight stomps Mor but due to his blessing. His body feels no pressure cause of the stomping and just gets stopped. The knight's hooves are just stopped at Mor's shoulders.

A little Mor crawls on his face.

"Well, now let's fight…"

He attacks knight with his hammers at the belly part of the creature (Horse belly part of the creature). It is knocked back a little but the knight seemed to be incapable of feeling any pain.

The knight moves to attack Mor in return. But it fails as Mor just ignore its attacks because he doesn't have to worry about the large spear.

Mor hits are destructive and powerful. Powerful enough that it is starting to break the knight's armor. Mor has figured out while fighting his opponent that this creature is just a sinned soul that is wearing the armor. Or something like that.

It is just a guess but that is the most plausible. Maybe if he cracks the armor open then the creature within will come out. He isn't sure if that would happen though.

For now, he just has it open.

His attack forces the knight to step back and open its chest of thousand teeth. Mor doesn't gets bother by it and just hits the chest with its hammer and break it apart.

The knight tries to get a hold of his weapon. But unfortunately for the knight, Mor has two sludge hammers to destroys the teeth and everything within in few strikes.

The lower part of the creature is still remaining. So, Mor moves towards one of its legs. The knight tries to move away but it has turned into a mess and so it fails to do so.

Mor hits the leg with both of its hammer and break it off. The knight is now off balance and so it falls to the ground.

This is the end of it because now it suffers from the deadly hits of Mor. Each attack is like getting hit with a tank. There is no suffering that.

Soon, the knight stops moving and now it is just pieces of metal laying on the ground.

Mor observes Calus. The large spear has stopped struggling too. It seemed like the battle against the knight is over.

But doesn't feel right about this. He can't shake this feeling that something is watching him or everything. He is just one part of its sight. It is observing every soul in the blood valley.

Mor curses and shouts to Calus.

"Get away from here."

The sinned soul within the knight wasn't just an ordinary Sinned soul. It is the soul of its own master. The knight had devoured the sinned soul of its master.

But because the sinned soul was of its own master. The knight followed the sinned soul's twisted orders and devoured all that came its way.

From the years of devouring sinned soul, the master of the knight has become a completed sinned soul. But a sinned soul still hungers for more.

More death, more blood and more violence.

***

The mountainous soul has become weaker from constant destruction of its sinned soul. Soon, it will be destroyed when the rest of its sinned soul is killed.

However, someone else has joined the fray. It desires are more destructive and dangerous. The Master of the knight will devour all the sinned souls.
