(Third Person POV)
"We must be careful." Oneth said, raising her hand slightly, "This one is no ordinary Vampire. I can feel the intense Necrotic Power within him."
"I'll pretend I know what that is." Samuel said
They were all looking down at the Vampire, who was staring right at Samuel with his unsettling eyes. Samuel didn't like the way he was looking at him, which resulted in a serious scowl.
"I've never encountered a vampire before, much less a Dusk Elf one." Sharn said with a tense posture, "What do we need to expect from this one?"
"Judging from the necrotic power I am sensing, I imagine this one is very skilled in Necromancy." Oneth said, narrowing her eyes, "But what sort of necromancy is up for debate."
The Vampire suddenly disappeared, alarming the group.
"Where did he go?!" Samuel said as he looked around
Oneth looked to their left, seeing that the Vampire had appeared on the railings next to them, crouching down as his cloak draped down into the floor.
"A Serpent Demon, an Orc, and a Human." The vampire's voice was unsettling, "What is your business here?"
"We can ask you the same thing." Samuel aimed and pulled the trigger of his gun, "Fucker.'
The bullet shot straight at the vampire's head, who simply tilted its head to avoid it. The bullet flew straight into the wall, striking the stone and shattering it, resulting in debris flying everywhere.
"Runepowder Rounds..." The Vampire said, "How crude."
"Not as crude as a blood-sucking freak." Samuel said, "What the fuck are you going to do about it?"
"Don't taunt him, Samuel!" Oneth said, getting ready
The Vampire blurred past Oneth and Sharn, reaching Samuel in an instant. Before Samuel could react, the Vampire swung its claws at this chest but instead of striking flesh, he struck a small barrier that acted as a shield, pushing Samuel away without harming hiim.
"Hm..." The Vampire said, "Interesting."
Oneth had her hand raised, pointing at Samuel, "Be careful!" She said, "These foes are not to be underestimated!"
The Vampire was about to pounce when Sharn had lunged at him, swinging her leg at him in a vicious roundhouse kick. He simply raised his arm to block the strike, causing a powerful shockwave that shook the ground.
"You're strong." The Vampire said, seemingly unfazed, "For a member of an inferior species, your strikes are not bad."
Sharn scowled, "You....!!" She said, trying to pull her leg away, "Don't-"
The vampire then grabbed her leg and in a swift motion, swung her over his head and slammed her down hard onto the ground, causing massive cracks as a shockwave erupted.
"Sharn!" Oneth exclaimed as she swung her hand at the vampire, flinging a quick firebolt, "Dammit!"
Sharn's eyes had whitened out as she coughed up a bit of blood, "Ughh!!"
The firebolt that Oneth fired flew right at the Vampire's head, but he was able to deflect it with ease. It hit the wall and detonated, causing a small explosion. He took a step forward but Oneth had blurred past him, slithering towards Sharn and coiling her lower body around the Orc, immediately dashing away, taking her to safety.
"You're fast." The Vampire said as he pointed his open palm at Oneth, who was holding Sharn, "As expected for a Serpent Demon, You-"
He was suddenly smacked by Samuel, who had dashed past him, his arm had swung forward as a certain hue glowed on his hand.
"Gunslinger's Mark"
The Vampire stood there, watching as his chest had a glowing cross-hair mark, "Hm?" He said, "Some sort of marking spell? I wonder what this does? Human, do you-"
He was cut off by three rapid shots, striking right on the mark and causing a powerful detonation of Critical Damage. His chest burst open slightly, a shattering effect appearing and pushing him back slightly. The moment that Samuel saw the shattering effect, he fired a single round at the Vampire's head, forcing him to try and dodge.
The bullet grazed the Vampire's cheek, opening up a gash and causing him to recoil slightly, blood spraying out in the air.
In an instant, the Vampire disappeared and Samuel saw that he was standing back over at the treasure pile.
Samuel opened his revolver's chamber and removed the empty casings, replacing them with new rounds. His eyes did not leave the Vampire, which he knew clearly that he was a major threat.
Samuel was aware that this was a moment of life or death.
He spat on the ground, "This fucking guy." He said, "He's got a magic shield, huh?"
Oneth slowly released Sharn who was grimacing in pain, "Yes." She said, "But it appears it is a Level 2 Magic Shield. The lowest form of Shield Spells is the Glass Shield, the one he has is two levels above. But it is not the worst thing to worry about when it comes to a vampire."
"Yea." Samuel adjusted his hat, "I can bet."
Oneth stood up, "He's strong." She said, panting slightly, "My entire body was rattled."
"I can prove support in the form of healing and defensive spells." Oneth said, "And I can also take his hits should he catch me off-guard. Samuel, I need to know if your skills will prove useful."
Samuel nodded, "Can you place a Magic Shield on Sharn?" He asked, not taking his eyes off the Vampire, "Or is that only a self-cast?"
"I can." Oneth said
"Do it." Samuel said, "Sharn, act as the frontline, try to take him up close. If he breaks your shield, I'll try to ward him off you. I'll provide cover fire, and if I can catch him, I'll put a bullet in him."
"Vampires are very durable." Oneth said as Sharn stepped forward, "It will take more than one bullets."
"If I can break one of his legs, it could slow him down." Sharn said as Oneth waved her hand on her, "But it could be tough....I just need to activate my Magic..."
"Magic Shield"
"The shield should only take a few of his direct blows." Oneth said as a slight blue outline appeared on Sharn, "Try not to break it easily."
"Right..." Sharn nodded, "Thanks."
The Vampire was standing there, looking at Samuel, "Your name is Samuel, human?" He asked, "Hm?"
"What's it to you?" Samuel asked
"The Distortion is strong with you." The Vampire said as he drew a thin bone-like dagger, "Samuel, The Human. Allow me to introduce myself."
"Well, spit it out, asshole." Samuel scowled, "Who the fuck are you?"
"I am Zarias." The Vampire said with a menacing glare, "Scourge of Abaddon."
"And none of you will leave this place alive."
