(Third Person POV)
"This could become a battle of attrition." Oneth said, "He has a Magic Shield active and while Samuel can shatter it, his regenerative powers can prevent him from taking serious damage."
Sharn was punching several skeletons away, "Y-Yea, I noticed that." She said, "He's fast and strong, but Samuel can catch him with his bullets."
Oneth struck a skeleton with a fireball, scattering its scorched bones everywhere, "And then there is his Necromancy." She said, "A perpetual Skeleton Summoning spell. This is not something ideal for us, he intends to wear us down and finish the job quickly."
Sharn dodged several skeletons as Samuel shot them in the head, "Well, we have to think of something!!" She exclaimed, "I can hit him with a direct Meteor First barrage after Samuel breaks his shield, but it has to be timed right!!"
"I can try for that." Samuel said as he jumped to the side, landing near Oneth, "But the fucker positioned himself with his skeletons between us!"
Sharn said, "Samuel, you have to hit him with your technique again!" She said, "That way, I can unleash a barrage and pummel him!"
"Easier said than done..." Samuel said, wiping the sweat from his mouth, "But whatever, this is what we'll do; Oneth, bait these skeletons in and hit them with another wave. Use a couple of projectiles to push him out of his current position so I can mark him! Then, after we break his shield, Sharn will do her thing."
Sharn nodded, "That's a plan." She said, cracking her knuckles, "I am ready!"
Zarias was atop a broken pillar, looking down at the group as he had his arms crossed. His eyes were like a predator's, locking onto his prey. He set his gaze upon Samuel, who was reloading his revolver, having avoided the incoming skeleton attack.
"Hm.." He said, "Interesting. There is Distortion within that man. It is quite potent."
He watched as the skeletons were being funneled into a single point; where Oneth was standing. He narrowed his eyes at this sudden tactic, watching how Oneth immediately waved her hand and released a potent Wave of Light. The skeletons were immediately destroyed by the spell, a shockwave erupting in the area.
"And this Demon wielding Holy Magic." Zarias said, "Asothia really is desperate, turning her back on the Demonkind's roots. The Demon God would be ashamed of his current successor, what a pathetic excuse of a queen."
Oneth caught what he said, causing her to narrow her eyes, "W-What did you say?!" She said, panting slightly, "You dare insult Queen Asothia?!"
"What of it?" Zarias said as Samuel began to charge towards him, "Hm?"
"Oneth!" Samuel shouted
Oneth placed her hands in front of her, channeling flames into a single point and forming a large fireball. She had a vicious glare which was pointing right at Zarias, who still had his arms crossed, casually looking at this.
"You filthy Dusk Elf." Oneth hissed, "You are naught but a dirty bloodsucker, unfit to lay your eyes on Queen Asothia! You will regret those words!!"
"Abaddon's Flare"
She swung her arms forward, firing a thick beam of flames that quickly shot at Zarias, like a cannon. The beam hit the pillar, causing a powerful explosion of flames that shook the room, exerting a tense wave of heat.
"W-what?!" Sharn covered her face, her skin singing slightly, "That's hot!!"
Zarias had appeared on the ground, seemingly unscathed, "A third rate fire spell named after the Demon God?" He said with a slight smirk, "How pathetic!"
Samuel reached him, hitting him with the Gunslinger's Mark. Zarias merely looked at the glowing mark with no reaction, turning his head to see that Samuel was raising his gun at him.
"Fuck off." Samuel said with a serious expression, "You stupid bitch."
He pulled the trigger, firing a single round at Zarias. But he hit nothing, the bullet simply flying through the empty air and shooting right at the wall. This took Samuel by surprise, turning to see that Zarias had appeared next to him, his eyes glowing as he swung his claws at him.
"SAMUEL!" Oneth shouted in panic
Samuel felt as his waist was shredded by Zarias's claws, a sharp pain spreading throughout his entire body as he coughed up blood.
"S-Shit....!" He stumbled back, "W-What the....!"
Zarias was going to follow up when Sharn appeared next to him, swinging her fist at him. He then casually blocked it with his forearm, a shockwave erupting from the impact.
"Hm." He said
"You fucking prick!" Sharn exclaimed
"Tell me, little orc." Zarias said, "Why would i let a boy who's greener than you get the idea that he stands a chance in this War? Is he The Promised Warrior? What a pathetic sight."
Sharn narrowed her eyes, "You....!" She said, "Enough of this!"
"You're right." Zarias said, "I've had enough of this."
In an instant, skeletons burst through and grabbed Sharn's arms and legs, holding her in place. In an instant, Zarias went to run his claws through her but he was hit by a wave of light, which caused him to stagger to the side, burning up the skeletons.
Oneth slithered over in a flash, wrapping herself protectively around Sharn who was taken off-guard by this. She then fired a quick fireball at Zarias, hitting him in the chest and stumbling him even further.
Samuel had gotten up and fired three quick shots, breaking Zarias's shield, who was still composing himself.
"Hm." Zarias said, "You shattered my shield. Again. I applaud you. But...."
"Samuel!" Oneth shouted as she tried to reach for Samuel, who was bleeding profusely, "Watch out!"
At that moment, Oneth's protective instincts had her defend Sharn, who had been previously vulnerable to Zarias's attacks. In that split second, she had hesitated, causing her to be sluggish in her attempt to help Samuel.
"Tsk tsk!" Zarias said as he had already run his claws through Samuel's stomach, impaling him, "Too slow!"
"Oh no!" Sharn exclaimed with fear, "Samuel!!"
Oneth widened her eyes in pure horror, "NO!!!"
Samuel coughed up blood, "Ouughh....." He managed, "Fuck.....that hurts....."
"Ah, yes." Zarias smirked, "Such a pungent smell of blood, infused with Distortion....you're weak, boy. You will never be on my level."
Samuel then raised his revolver, pressing the barrel against his chin, "Suck my fat, sweaty balls, you fucking piece of shit." He said with a serious glare, "Fuck you."
He pulled the trigger, blowing Zarias's head open as blood and skull fragments flew everywhere. Zarias's body pulled back, his arm pulling out of Samuel's stomach, and blood pouring out of the wound.
"Tch...." Zarias's head was slowly regenerating, "You're persistent...."
"I'm human, you prick." Samuel managed, his face was completely pale, "I'm not a fucking pussy."
Zarias's head was slowly repairing itself, "Heh." He said, "I shall turn you into a bloody mess, my skeleto-"
He was struck with a powerful barrage of spectral fists, causing powerful shockwaves that began to rip apart his skin.
"Meteor Fist!!"
Amidst the barrage, Sharn lunged at him and swung her fist in a vicious manner, ripping a hole into his side. The impact of the blow was enough to send him reeling back a couple of meters.
"Tch....!" Zarias said, "Very well."
He saw that Oneth was slithering to Samuel, and he waved his hand outwards, causing several Skeletons to burst from the ground and pounce at the two. Oneth was caught off guard by this and she managed to push the skeletons away as Samuel was stumbling, covered in blood.
"Dammit!" Oneth said
"Get Samuel!" Sharn said, "I got him!"
Zarias's body was a mangled mess, most of his left side was ripped apart by Sharn's surprisingly strong attack. He didn't think that his shield would take this long to recharge, which left him vulnerable to an impactful attack.
He then glared at the Orc and clicked his tongue, causing a bone spear to burst from the ground, hitting her in the side.
"Arghh!" Sharn exclaimed, "Shit!"
Oneth had destroyed the skeletons, "Sharn!" She called out, "Dammit!"
Zarias composed himself, his body regenerating slowly, "Here's something to remember me by." He said, "If you survive. Which, by the way, you won't."
He swung his arm forwards, causing several bone projectiles to burst from the ground and shoot at Oneth and Samuel. Oneth raised a barrier to defend herself and Samuel with it, but was too late. Most of the bone projectiles struck her all over her serpent tail and some of them grazed her upper body.
"Arrghh....!!" Oneth said, looking over to Samuel, "S-Samuel!"
Samuel was impaled by multiple bone spears, which caused him to bleed profusely.
"Well, ain't this a bitch....." Samuel said, one of his eyes were closed and covered in blood, "Fuck...."
Zarias appeared in front of him as another swarm of skeletons appeared under Sharn and Oneth, keeping them in place.
"Hm, ain't it...." He said, grabbing Samuel by the throat, "You stupid little boy.....thinking you can survive. Look at me, my wounds are regenerating. And you? You're on death's door. You are done, you are nothing."
Samuel was lifted up by the throat, "A-Aghh...." He managed, "Y-You ass...."
"No!" Oneth struggled, trying to activate another Wave of Light, "Samuel!!"
"Shit!" Sharn managed
Zarias smirked, "I am a Vampire far beyond your capabilities, little boy." He told Samuel, "I will retrieve the artifact after I hoard the treasure of these ruins. And when my compatriots are done with the Orc Chief, I will point my ire towards the stronghold."
"F-Father....!" Sharn exclaimed, her eyes widening while she fought off the skeletons
"Oh yea?" Samuel managed, "Y-You forgot one thing....."
"What's that?" Zarias asked with a raised eyebrow
"I...got my gun....in my hands...." Samuel managed, "And.....you're in point blank....range....."
"Ha!" Zarias laughed, "You can barely lift your arm, you scoundrel!!"
"A-Another....thing...." Samuel said with a bloody smirk
"What is it?!" Zarias exclaimed, "Speak before I crush your throat!!"
Samuel chuckled, "It's about that time."
"What time?!" Zarias scowled, "You impudent little rat!!"
In a swift motion, Samuel lifted his left hand and grabbed his amulet, kissing it as he raised his revolver up.
"High Noon"
Suddenly, the Revolver was imbued with magic power that glowed blue, a loud sound akin to a small explosion was heard.
Zarias's widened his eyes, seeing the light of the gun, "What the fuck is-"
Samuel pointed it at his heart, pulling the trigger, "Bang."
Zarias's body was then ripped apart by a powerful explosion of magic power, causing him to let go of Samuel.
"AAGHH!!!" Zarias's left side was completely obliterated by the powerful attack, "OUUUURGHHHHHJ!!!!"
Samuel collapsed to his knees, covered in blood as his body was impaled by the bone spears, "Hehe...." He said with a weak smirk,
"Take that, you prick."
