(Third Person POV)
[Somewhere In The City]
Inside a large building, there was a large office that was decorated with many decorum. Ranging from mounted deer heads on the walls to massive displays of weapons such as swords, axes, and hammers.
There were two large couches that were sitting across from each other, with a small glass table in the center that had two bowls of fruit on it. To the far end of the room, there was a large mahogany desk that was decorated with wooden statues of a woman with long hair. There were neatly stacked papers on the side of the desk with several quill pens mounted on their own stands.
Sitting on the desk, an orc with light green skin was reading a scroll. He wore what looked like scholar robes that were dark purple color, trimmed with gold. He also wore a fur cape, which was draped over his shoulders. The Orc seemed to be quite tall and imposing, but his frame was actually thinner than a warrior's.
He had long and straight hair, which seemed to be softer than any maiden's. His orange eyes were staring through a pair of glasses, reading the scroll in front of him. On his hands, he was wearing gold jewelry: a ring on each finger and a chain bracelet.
The Orc seemed to be quite focused on the scroll, not paying attention to a human woman who was standing in front of the desk, calling for him. She was wearing a simple white dress, a silver necklace dangling from her neck. Her blonde hair was tied in a ponytail, revealing her soft and pretty face.
"L-Lord Urug....!" the woman called
The orc snapped out of his focus, "Huh?" His deep yet softspoken voice said, "What is it?"
"There has been reports of two individuals fighting in broad daylight." The woman said, "Two mages!"
The Orc cleared his throat, fixing his glasses, "And what of it?" He asked, "Have the guards deal with that, mages fighting in our streets is pretty common. That is what the enforcers are for, are they not? Why must I be bothered with it?"
"Well..." She started, frowning
Urug frowned in return, "What is it?" He asked, "I don't like this sudden attitude of yours."
"One of them wields a firearm." She said, "And he killed the other. The guards believe that the one killed is affiliated with the thug they restrained last night."
Urug narrowed his eyes, "A Runepowder Firearm user?" He said, "In this side of the Realm? Impossible, where did he come from?"
"He wears a strange attire, from what the reports said." the woman said, "With a funny-looking hat. Nobody saw him come from the gates, he just appeared in the city. According to what a restaurant customer stated, they were using the Royal Gold Coins. The ones only the top officers of the Midnight Legion and the Dread Lords use."
"What?" He said
"Yes." She said
Urug stood up, adjusting his glasses again, "Hm." He said, "Is this some sort of ploy from the other Lords, huh? What is Symmera thinking? She's the only one who has connections to the Runepowder Gangs of The West."
"I do not know, Lord Urug." the woman said, "What should we do?"
"Hm." Urug said, "Take me to this Runepowder Mage."
"Now."

(Samuel's POV)
[Necklace of The High Noon]
- Relic that possesses the "High Noon" Ultimate Skill.
- Performing a gesture while activating the skill will imbue your equipped firearm with a powerful affinity, allowing for a single powerful shot to be fired.
- The current affinity is Magic. The affinity can be switched at later times should the user possess the appropriate Aspects.
- This Skill can only be used once per day.
I was staring at the System Screen, seeing that I had gotten a Relic. I was standing in the middle of the street, where nobody was looking. It had been around half an hour since I killed that assassin and the guards came in to investigate it.
"High Noon, huh?" I said, grabbing the metal tag of the necklace, "What an interesting ability. If it can only be used once per day, it should definitely be powerful."
I narrowed my eyes, wondering when I should use this ability. It is something I should use sparingly, truth be told. I can't just be wasting my powerful skills so recklessly, especially if they are limited like this.
I should be able to test it out against something I want dead, that's the obvious part.
But enough of that, I have another skill to focus on: The Gunslinger's Mark. When I activated the skill, I felt myself dash faster and swifter, smacking the target with ease. A regular dash isn't doing what I had just done.
I flew past him with no issue and I think that is the power of the Skill. Not only that, the mark is very powerful in it of itself. I shot the bullet half a foot away from the target and it curved towards the mark, striking the assassin. Sure, the man was shielded with magic, but the moment I hit the third bullet, the Critical Damage proc immediately shattered the shield. That left him wide open and I was able to finish him off.
That is a very powerful ability and one I shouldn't underestimate. I need to practice further with it, that's something that is becoming quite clear. I fought an assassin who wasn't that bad to go against.
Something tells me that my first few fights are nothing compared to what is in store for me. I need to mentally prepare myself for some grueling battles.
"Hm....." I said, "Okay, I think I got the hang of it."
As I said this, the System Screen switched pages.
[Necklace of The High Noon: Bonus]
- The tag has no engraving on it.
- You can engrave both sides by completing a certain task. By doing so, you can engrave the likeness of a specific woman.
- Depending on your bond with that woman, the strength of High Noon is increased. If you have a strong bond with both, the power of the Skill would be immense.
"Whoa...." I said, "That's.....hm.....wow...."
I wonder what's up with this, all of the sudden. I mean, I need to perform a certain task and I engrave the face of a woman on the necklace, increasing the power of this skill?
I mean, I have to find out what the default power of the skill is anyways.
"Alright." I said, stepping forwards, "I'll go and check in on Elena."
"Hello, lover~" I heard a voice say, giving me chills, "Found youuuu~~~"
I looked to the side and was immediately constricted by a serpent's body, "A-Ahh...." I said as I felt Oneth's hand on my chin, "You....."
Oneth was wearing a white button up shirt over her busty upper-half, which was quite appropriate. She was flicking her serpent tongue all over my face as she stared at me with her beautiful eyes.
"Hello, Samuel." She said, "How have you been?"
"Oneth." I said, "It's been, what, a day?"
"Yes." she said, "I missed you."
"I.....uh...." I said, "Well, I missed you too."
"Good response." She licked my cheek, "Do you want to have sex?"
"I'm busy." I said
"Busy killing, eh?" She said as she wrapped her arms around my neck, her coil loosening up slightly, "I can smell the blood on you, fufu~"
"What are you doing here, Oneth?" I asked, "You're a Demon Maid, aren't you? You're supposed to be in the castle."
"I have been tasked to join you for a mission." She smirked slightly, "We are to go out of the City, Samuel."
"What?" I frowned, "What do you mean?"
"You are The Promised Warrior, meant to aid us in our war." She said, "You can't spend your days in the City, you have to go out."
"We're to find an artifact that the Duskrend Kingdom is looking for."
