Chapter 27 - Expected Ambush

(Third Person POV)

The following day, Samuel was sitting up in the bed. He was still in Elena's house, having been invited to stay over by the kind woman. He had been lent a different room, so he slept all night. By the time he had woken up, Elena and her granddaughter had already left to the restaurant to start working.

Elena's son-in-law was against Samuel staying the night, but there was nothing else he could do about it. Samuel had already stayed the night and did way more than he knew. It was an amazing experience for the young man, seeing that he had sex with such a beautiful woman.

He was quite satisfied, having felt the plump and buxom body of Elena. He could still remember the feeling of her breasts under his fingers when he groped them. The feeling of her pussy tightening around his cock was vibrant in his mind, it was such a good memory for him.

"Ah...." Samuel said with a smirk as he got up, "That was quite satisfying. I mean, it only counted for one time. I have to maintain my relationship with Elena if I want to do the three times and obtain that new weapon."

He stretched right next to the bed, feeling that his body was quite refreshed. He then proceeded to put on his boots on, followed by his gunbelt and his coat. He walked over to the door, grabbing his hat that was hanging on a coat hanger to the side.

"Alright." He said, "I'm feeling quite hungry, I have to go and eat Elena's cooking now. Or was it her daughter who's doing the cooking? Hm, I think it is. I do wonder what she looks like though."

He made his way out of the house as he was pondering, closing up and locking the door per Elena's request the night prior. He then patted his coat and walked down the street, looking around to see that there were civilians walking around.

He was wondering what Elena's daughter looked like; he was thinking that she looked similar to Elena herself, being quite plump and curvy. The mere thought of that was enough to arouse him, something that he knew he had to restrain.

It had been around three days since he had been in this world, and he had already had sex with three women: Scarlet, Oneth, and Elena. All for the sake of progressing his system and aiding Queen Asothia in her war against her rival kingdom.

Because of this, his body and mind were developing quite the lustful impulses. The mere sight and touch of Elena's body was enough to rile Samuel up and he knew that he had to control himself.

He cleared his throat, "I have to be strong." He said, adjusting his hat as he made a corner, "I mean, come on. There is a role to be played; the Promised Warrior. I cannot be distracting myself with these damn lustful thoughts."

He walked into an alleyway that led to a small square area that seemed to be behind a group of buildings. This was an accident, seeing that he didn't remember the directions back to the restaurant. He had gotten lost by accident while thinking of what Elena's daughter would look like. Not only that, but the thought of Elena's ass was enough to distract him from almost anything.

"Dammit." He said as he turned around, "Thinking of her fat ass really got me lost, huh?"

As he turned, he saw a cloaked figure standing at the entrance of the alleyway, facing right at him. The cloak was black with some crimson stripes on the sides.

Samuel stopped and narrowed his eyes, looking at the figure that was standing there menacingly. He noticed that the individual was wearing a black mask with similar stripes on its left side.

"Hm...." He said, not making a sudden movement

The individual slowly raised their left arm, showing that they were wearing a thick fabric sleeve with leather gloves. They were holding a long and thin blade that had glowing runes on it. Samuel could feel a strange disturbance in the air around him, which told him that the individual had magic power to them.

Samuel adjusted his hat and spat on the ground, "So...." He said, "It is just as I thought; there were others about, waiting for the opportunity to get to the woman. But let me guess, you saw the way I did your comrades? And because of that, you view me as a valid threat. If you don't kill the one who did in your boss's men, you cannot go back without facing punishment."

The individual stared at Samuel for a few seconds before tilting their head, "You are not a fool, I see." A raspy yet masculine voice said, "You do have a brain, but you only choose when to use it."

"An expected ambush, this is." Samuel said as he looked at the man, "What do you think you will do? You're going to kill me and then go to the woman? Imbecile, I've seen this scene all too many times, even played in it myself. The Gang's Boss sends his top man to take on the lone wolf, but they don't account for one thing. Do you want to know what that is?"

"I don't care." The man swung his blade forwards, firing off a projectile of wind, "Die."

Samuel was able to react to this, stepping to the side and avoiding the projectile. He had his hand hovering over his holster as he looked at the man.

"Well....I'll tell you anyways." Samuel said, drawing his gun and firing from the hip, "The Gunslinger never loses."

The bullet had shot right at the man's head, but struck something invisible, shattering and causing a shockwave. Samuel narrowed his eyes, seeing a faint armor-like barrier surrounding the man's body. After a second or so, the barrier disappeared slowly.

"Some sort of magic armor?" Samuel thought to himself, "And it didn't shatter immediately? This might be tougher than the other one."

The man suddenly jumped into the air, swinging his blade multiple times and firing off several wind projectiles. Samuel jumped to the side, avoiding the attack. The projectiles struck the ground, causing several shockwaves.

Samuel landed a few feet away, aiming at the man and firing three more times. He watched as the man avoided two of the hits, but the final bullet struck him. It did the same thing as before: shattering and creating a shockwave.

The assassin landed on the ground, staring at Samuel who aimed at him still, firing the last two bullets. The bullets struck the man in the chest, shattering and creating more shockwaves.

"I see." Samuel opened the chamber and emptied the casings, reloading the bullets, "Your magic armor, or whatever it is, it's stronger than the other one. So you are a mage, huh?"

The assassin pointed the knife at him, "You talk too much."

"Hm, I'll take that as a yes." Samuel spun the chamber and closed it, giving the man a slight smirk, "That's good."

"I'll put you to the ground and complete the task."
