As Moonlight walks slowly through the forest, his ink black eyes looked around slowly, perhaps looking for something.
He hears sounds huff huff on the way. The sounds were in tiny volume, echoing around him as he moves.
"What's that?" he uttered soundly.
The sound continued, despite being tiny and law for anyone to notice. However, in the midst of silence, even an empty pen is loud enough.
Moonlight body reacted, he exhaled and inhaled a few times, looking around, but seeing nothing except trees on his path. The resolve he built up looked to be shattering on impact.
He stopped.
Lack of sunlight amplified its effect. Despite the fact, it was morning and the sound was low pitched. Moonlight was affected slightly.
Where is it coming from? In loneliness, any reasonable person will ask themselves that question, however, Moonlight heart troubled, his body did not.
He shakes his head, slapped his cheeks "Snap out of it, Moonlight!" he said.
"Ah…ah—I will do it"
Expending his time to the mobs, he focused his ears on the resounding sound that reigned. Initially, and forgetting his main destination.
He moves to an area on instinct and with his trusty sense organs: eye and ears, to a place with more light than the others, as he gazed down, his eyes sparkled with curiosity.
At the area, fluffy looking creatures roamed through in numbers, each having strong hooves that slams the ground on impact, creating tiny vibrations that spreads through the forests despite its size.
"Wow…"
"What are they? I've never seen them before"
Said Moonlight quietly to himself.
Curiosity, the one thing that can kill a man, may or may not lead to the end of one's story. Moonlight Adna, the son of Phoenix Adna, is what one may call 'a child of Curiosity'.
Due to excessive reading to get over being bored, has attained a special mind unbeknownst to him, something closer to that of a philosopher but not since he is an introvert.
Meanwhile, the creatures below are taking an unknown act unfamiliar to Moonlight. Several, in few numbers surround a lake that sat at the right, in accordance. They opened their mouths revealing a pipe-like tube that extends to the waters.
Soon, a bigger version of the creatures appears. Their skin pinkish in color and looks to be the biggest among the others, lots of that version appeared after. The smaller cleared pathways for the bigger to move through and enter the pool, bathing themselves by swimming.
"What are they doing" Moonlight still watching, asked to himself.
The creatures continued their behavior and Moonlight just watched from the sidelines (behind trees). Their interaction was weird, but some may say it was unique in a sense.
However—
In the small pool, white substance spread round turning the lake half-white. Instantly, the bigger versions that dipped in first were seemingly drowning. The others noticed this and let out a loud than scream that shook the entire forest.
On hearing this, a commotion occurred as the fluffy creatures took by their hooves and ran in various directions, appearing confused.
With time, the bigger versions drowned totally in a trail of white substance, those alive, those that ran, also met their fate as vines from nowhere pierced through them mercilessly.
Watching from behind, Moonlight saw how an entire race was getting wiped out one by one, his eyes straight. I need to do something.
"But I can't" he said.
Un-focusing his eyes away from the commotion, Moonlight started breathing roughly, his breath moving up and down.
"I'm not cloud" he says, sweats pouring down his face as he covers his face with his knee.
His heart was troubled, seeing things dying without choice. This experience was something a child should not be seeing.
He looks again in a shock.
Now, new species had shown up on the scene, bearing different appearance but same build. In the pond, an eye popped out anointed in white, its teeth were visible, locating just below the eyeball.
The new species had already killed it and it was being dragged out of the pool. Its structure was now visible. A long snake-like tube separated it from its body and the eye. The body was being eaten, blocking the analysis of the monster.
"Huh—
Something attacked from behind, pushing Moonlight deep into the area while he was being distracted.
On reaching the ground, the monsters looked at him, he looked at them back.
What do I do? He thought
