Chapter 13 - The First Hour Part 2

*

First of all, we were carried— kidnapped and dragged to a certain forest that was located somewhere at the back of the Adna's house. And now we are separated, me and Cloud on two separate journeys.

Normally, it would be a normal task 'go into the forest' he said, "Reach the center" he said and I should not forget "Don't worry you can sense Elro"

I can't sense Elro.

Keeping my pace with Cloud, I was calm knowing fully-well as long as he is here, I am saved, or should I say all things are possible with Cloud, after-all, he can sense Elro. I can't.

But nature has been cruelled to me ever since. From casually separating me from Cloud using an underhanded trick (landslide), to pushing me closer to the ground, not once, not twice but three times in a row…

Though I did calm down after an hour of seeing paradise or resting there. I braced myself for the next challenge, which was the forest ahead of me. During that time, I at least could sense something similar to Elro. Even though it's not reliable, at least I learnt something!

On entering the mysterious forest, a familiar feeling surrounded me. My mind just recalled to the times I've been pushed mercilessly. I'm still surprised I am still alive after all that.

Hearing echoing sounds, I leaned to the source and found myself observing some strange creatures. They did not give the feel that the 'Rowls' gave me. I guess that's a good sign.

Forgetting my mission, I watched closely. Isn't that what any reasonable mind or person would do, right? Is not that I'm curious or anything but I guess Cloud is right. 'Curiosity kills!' he says.

Unknowingly to me, I was about to experience an event that will change my entire life and way of thinking.

A massacre happened.

I turned my face from the commotion, but the feeling lived on. Unsteady breathing, holding my chest, and my eyes felt wide open despite being closed, and unnecessary shaking of my body. I have no idea but only a question.

What is this feeling?

"Huh"

I was pushed.

Right into the lion's den, some random pushed me into it. Who did that? And this was my third fall. The only thought that lingered was…

Those damn vines!

A chill ran through my body as I looked at the creatures ahead of me. They were staring at me.

"What do I do?" I mumbled.

The new versions, had their sights on me, looking at my direction—me with their red eyes (not aware of the color) and with pure intensity.

It looks like red aura enveloped round them. In books, the heroes call this appearance 'bloodlust' or something. In other words, they want to end me.

"Wait! Wait! Wait…" Releasing both my hands in a gesture meant to calm down. But for some reason, the aura intensified and the red was clearer—though not, but it felt clearer.

I ran out of ways to stop them. I had no way to stop them.

Wait—

I'm a six-year-old, right? What am I doing in a forest? Why am I not afraid in the slightest? I'm just confused.

Back to reality, one member of the group threw themselves at me without notice.

I dodged.

Good they aren't unpredictable like those Rowls.

Unpredictable?!

Why am I speaking like a veteran warrior? Those books and stories Cloud told me, is now getting through my head.

My body moved, placing a fist on the first guy middle area.

For some time, I saw it, in slow motion, his eyes popped out slowly and when done, it turned into splatters of white substance (liquid).

It sprayed on my body, filling my cloth in pure white.

The creature faces changed drastically. Though I could not see them, I could somehow sense it and feel it. The oldest looking of them reacted strangely. He spread his small looking hands in opposite directions; the others dispersed into the shadows.

Are they communicating?

I could tell I've been surrounded but I have completely no idea where they are stationed. I could not sense Elro.

Great Uncle said 'Elro is life energy', meaning these creatures are made up of life energy. So… if I can sense Elro, I can sense where they are.

'!'

My back took an unknown hit.

Unconsciously, my body twisted in a way that felt familiar. My hand holding something whatever held me. And in an instant, they fell to the ground: my hands and the object.

This created a huge splatter of white liquid on the floor below, therefore, covering my legs completely in white.

If this continues, I will turn into those ghosts from Cloud stories, I thought.

Unfortunately, my disgust was long-lived. Not only did another attack come from behind and from my front simultaneously. My body reacted independently and destroyed both in a split second.

Now I've done it. I guess I can now be called a ghost. Cloud is going to laugh so hard if he sees this.

"AAAAAAA"

The last of them cried out in a scream. He turned his back on me and 'ran as fast as the rowls' towards the forest.

Where do you think you're going?

As I said that, I found myself right at his front. Despite how fast he was, I somehow caught up to him. I saw his face, it looked weird, but it executed a weird expression, its body was shaking visibly.

"Goodbye" I said before turning him into nothing.

I threw myself back, using my feet to gain balance each step until I stopped. I stared at my palm.

What have I done?

My heart moved faster than ever before. On touching my chest, I realized it was operating naturally. It feels as if my vision is blurry and shaky, but my small body still stood strong.

My expression changed after seeing the land in front of me. A wide crater with multiple impact points appeared around me. Did I cause that?

You guys should watch me carefully.

A vision of Great Uncle popped up in my head. He moved his body randomly or maybe in a particular pattern. He held light shaped into a sword while doing this. The feeling was calm and rather interesting.

After some time he stopped and said,

You may not remember this, but your body will. He smiled.
