Chapter 14 - The First Hour Part 3

My body been pushed into a state of confusion kept lamenting, questioning itself. Body and mind felt different, as if moving independently. Each time I move there is always something throwing me down into worse situations.

Following Cloud, I felt as if I would pass this easily without flaw if I just listened to his orders. But I was wrong… I can't pass this test without him.

What am I thinking? I should move forward.

Can't move! Move….

What is this feeling? Am I scared? No, I'm not, just confused.

I wonder what Cloud is doing right now. He's probably dominating somewhere in these woods.

I raised my hands. Looked at my palm, I muttered, "What have I done? What am I doing?"

The fling of my hands can cause tiny shockwaves, that detail is terrifying. Those eyes Febia gave. I don't want to see them again. I can't bear the thought of someone invading my privacy for a fair thought. I won't be able to stop them, for they are not wrong.

Shaking my head to shrug of that indecent thought "People talking to me because they are worried...W-what a dangerous thought" I shivered halfway.

If things continue this way, I will become a source of attraction. Then, everyone will be talking to me and then I will stammer and disgrace myself and everyone will become closer to me somehow.

"I don't want to be like those in Cloud's stories" I Crouched to cover my flustered face.

After some time, I stood up and let out a huge sigh.

Now back to business, I noticed tiny particles of light moving in a vertical direction. Tracing the source, I figured out it was from my body. Not exactly my body but from the liquid on my body.

The light migrated upward, dispersing gradually through the air. My clothing true color was becoming clearer by the time passing.

At my behind, this phenomenon still occurred on the blood of the dead creatures. The light still flickered but of a slightly small quantity than mine. For some reason, the monster that they killed did not evaporate like others.

On getting closer, I gazed at it and found myself in a mixture of irritating, disgusting feeling all-round my body. A full structure presented itself from the eyeball. The ball actually had a mouth and a small nose that still breathes. It moved.

!

"Did it just move!" said I curiously, as I looked deeper into its nauseating body. Normally, any normal human would have left, but in this situation, I can't control my body, so I stayed.

Its slimy skin moved slowly. The process looked slow, gradually tiny filaments regenerated constantly, forming an area that is bigger than the others (still small though!).

SPLAT

I smashed it.

Those white liquid did not pop up. Particles of light were those that showed.

The world around me was changing. My vision was colorful. Though the sun was still no where its peak. The atmosphere shone bright.

I looked at my changing world in exasperation.

What is this? It was dark and lonely yet now it is lonely but feels bright. The grass flickered a shade of green light around itself. The sky its color is —

What is that?

At this part, a beam of light pierced through the sky. Its light incomparable to the wavering light around me, bright enough to rival the moon but its density was so weak that it could not be sensed.

Is that the center!

Great Uncle said 'Go to the center, you can sense Elro' I did not believe that the center was made known to us long before.

I followed the flow because Cloud was present. Now I believe and I have a goal: to the center. I steadied myself and headed for the beacon of light.

Crossing the boundary between the lake and the forest was the first step. The second step was to meet Cloud who is waiting for me at the center.

On moving, I asked myself some questions.

Why was Great Uncle smiling? His voice sounded calm and gentle. Similar to Cloud and that woman named Phoenix. What is it about them!

"Though I respect Febia, I've never felt that feeling from her" speaking to myself, I stopped moving.

Go over to the center.

Go to the center, right!

The trees remained the same, tiny green lights now flickered where the grass and leaves meet. The sunlight radiated little in the woods. With my vision clearer than ever, I made my way to the light.

Air gradually became thicker the further I went; as if being absorbed into a singular point. Though I was not affected by the change, I still unconsciously wanted to find the reason.

"This feeling isn't good…"

I felt that same feeling similar to the Rowls. Was I being watched? I looked up, trying to copy Cloud method but only saw branches, leaves and the sun.

"Maybe it's nothing" I said, ending my investigation.

While walking, my mind began its separate conversation.

If Phoenix Adna is my Mom, then who is my father? I only remember a young man with brown hair standing close to my mother. His hair looked black before but now it's brown. Reunion with my mother took no time because she had some sort of presence that drags you closer to her.

From my knowledge with books, I learnt fathers are hard to reunite with than mothers, and it takes long periods, conversations and multiple interactions to reunite with them.

If that's true, then I guess I won't escape any conversation. Besides, what do I even want to say to him or how do I even begin?

That thought is scrambling my mind.

The air is turning into morning dew, like small droplets of water turned into breeze. My vision got blurry, but the light is still brighter than ever.

I saw light.

Hidden in between uneven trees, I thought I reached the end or so I thought.

The sound of tiny birds sang; the air returned to normal. But something was wrong.

Everything was just too perfect.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

A scream came from behind, at my left, followed with a trail of dust. Something came out from the dust.

"What is that?" I asked and looked closely "a shadow…"

A strong wind blew.

I blinked.

A fist, a millimeter from my face, right at its back, I noticed a familiar face.

"Cloud!!"
