The Lost Vampire System Chapter 60 - Amara's Warning
"Agh!" Madison yelled as she became conscious.
She shot up to her feet as she looked around the room. She was in a fighting mode when she noticed Robert and the two grey cloaked guards. She frowned as she assumed a neutral stance.
"What happened?" she asked.
"You got your lights knocked out," Jareth said as he was helping his sister up, then Keira up. "A second year named Charlotte tried to take our money. Though thanks to Robert here, we didn't. Now we should get back to class."
"Yeah, no," Robert stated like it was super obvious. "I'm forcing all of you to go to the medical bay. I'm not having your group go unconscious in the expedition tomorrow because one or more of you have a concussion. Guards, make sure they get there."
"What about our teachers?" Arden asked as she walked around the guard on Robert's right, still holding her large energy gun.
"Who are you?" Robert asked.
"Arden," Arden answered. "I'm a VIP."
"Well, you don't have to go to the medical building if you don't want to," Robert said. "However, the others will be going, and I'll tell their teachers, as I outrank most of them."
"Well, I'll tag along," Arden said as her gun started to dismantle itself and move into her clothing, forming a light set of open armor on her body.
Robert and the guards simultaneously tilted their heads as this was very interesting to them, but they kept their cool as to not look unprofessional. The Major chuckled as this explained why she was a VIP.
"Very well," Robert said. "I'll inform your teacher as well."
The guards moved forward and ushered the group out of the room, including Arden. The guards woke up the two who were part of Charlotte's group, and they quickly ran out when they didn't see Charlotte. Robert sighed as the Youngblood seemed to have calmed down a bit.
Charlotte is lucky I showed up, Robert thought to himself as he started to make his way back to his office on the 30th floor of this building to make a small report. The Youngblood's family would've made an appearance if this would've gotten out of hand and made its way to them. Everything better go OK tomorrow, or I might just leave the school before a single member of his family arrives.
Robert shuddered at that thought as he entered the elevator and the elevator door closed.
In the second-year dormitory area at building number 15, Charlotte had entered the building with shaky hands. As she was walking, students would step out of her way so as not to cause trouble. Unlike in the first- and third-year areas, Charlotte was well known to the second-year students. She had made a name for herself as one of the most dangerous individuals of her year, even without being the strongest. Why? That is because of her portal creation ability. Being able to redirect your own attack back at you made anyone shudder at seeing their own fist, weapon, force, and more.
Charlotte had formed her own bully group with many members of her year, and she even expanded into the second years. Now her group was the second years and some of the third years. They would go in groups, stealing money from the weak, and split the profits, giving a portion to Charlotte for protection money. Now that she was back in school, she was just trying to do what her group did while trying to recruit new people when this incident happened. She was angered that her own operation had failed. This did not sit well with her as she and two others had gotten in the elevator, and the doors closed as she pressed the button for floor 18. The two who were in the elevator were some of her most loyal subordinates of her group. They were her guards when she was in the building. She had quickly taken over her dormitory building as the school seemed to have grouped her with her people like they wanted her to have a small kingdom within the 15th dorm building.
She was going up to the lounge floor, which was floor 18, to cool off for a short period of time before her last class started. The doors opened, and she stepped out into a luxurious lounge. She walked to the farthest point, where some furniture had been moved so that it looked like a little personal area for Charlotte. She walked by some people who nodded at her with respect. She sat down, placing her head within her palms, taking deep breaths.
"Damn you, Robert," she muttered. "You had to get in my way again. Though you can't stop me this year, because I now have a backing."
She clenched her fist as she ordered one of her guards to bring her some water, which the left guard did without hesitation, getting some from a little water dispenser. She chugged down the cup of water before crunching it up.
"You better enjoy your expedition," Charlotte growled as her light green eyes sparkled. "I'll choose the one with the backpack and sword. I got something planned for you when you return. Nobody's going to miss you when I deal with you, you weak bastard."
The guards had escorted the group to the medical building. They had taken them to the top floor, where they just placed them all in the same room: Jareth, Mia, Damion, Emma, Henry, Madison, Keira, as well as Arden. Amara was there again as she started to tend to their injuries.
"So," Amara asked after the guards left. "What happened to get all of you in here?"
"We were attacked by Charlotte," Damion growled in a controlled manner. "The strong bullying the weak for money."
Amara paused as she thought about if she had ever heard of Charlotte when it clicked. She had never seen Charlotte, but she treated a lot of people due to Charlotte.
"I remember her from last year," Amara stated. "Looks like she is still doing her thing."
"Her thing?" Jareth asked.
"Yes," Amara answered as she went over to examine Jareth. "She is known for her operation of taking money from other students."
"That b*tch!" Damion yelled.
Everyone turned their heads to face him.
"Eh, sorry," he said. "I just hate people like that."
Amara went back to her job as the room went silent until Emma had a question that she decided to ask.
"Who are you?" she said as she pointed over to the girl that some members of the group didn't know.
"Me?" Arden asked. "My name is Arden. I am Damion's girlfriend."
That comment sent Damion over the waterfall. "Over my dead body Cyb—,"
"Hey!" Jareth yelled as Damion was about to reveal who Arden was.
Damion looked at Jareth before looking back at Arden.
"Over my dead body, Arden," Damion said quieter. "You're lucky that you ser—, er, I mean an acquaintance with Jareth, or I'd beat you till your own mother can't recognize you."
Jareth shook his head, and Arden just giggled as she looked at the others.
"I see four people I don't recognize in this group," Arden said, referring to Emma, Madison, and Henry. "My name is Arden Voss. I only have one Evolved power, which I would describe as a technopath, and I am on the 15th floor."
A VIP, Emma thought. How does Jareth know a VIP?
"How did you two meet?" Emma asked as she eyed Arden with a suspicious look.
"I kidnapped him," Arden said with a straight face.
The room went silent again as even Amara looked between Jareth and Arden.
"We bumped into each other on the elevator," Jareth made up a story on the spot before any complications arose. "Started casual talk about life when we realized we were in the same circumstance, besides the fact that she has money."
Arden smirked at Jareth's quick story that he had made up on the spot. Arden smiled at Emma. Jareth introduced Arden to his three friends and then his sister.
"Oh, so you're his sister," Arden said with a large smile. "You are beautiful."
Mia's face slightly reddened as she wasn't expecting this answer.
"Th…thank you," Mia stammered as she composed herself. "You are too."
"Thanks."
"Uh," Damion groaned. "Please, no girl talk in front of me."
Amara lightly chuckled as her hands glowed over Arden.
"Your group seems close and cheery," the nurse said to the group. "Be grateful, as others are not in the same boat as you."
Her hands stopped glowing as she exited the room, leaving one final message.
"Watch yourselves out on the expedition," she warned. "Some would love to snatch your accomplishments."
With that, she left the room.
