Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Sexy Bomb

Los Angeles, Universal City Theater.

DreamWorks' remake of the Japanese horror film the ring held its North American premiere.

Charles also came, and Evelyn, as Naomi's Agent, was also present.

There were also some of Naomi Watts' good friends, such as Nicole Kidman, Heath Ledger, and other stars.

The premiere of the ring was well-organized, and DreamWorks invested a considerable amount.

"Who would have thought that before this, Naomi Watts was just an unknown, fringe actress?" Evelyn sighed, as Hollywood's overnight fame always attracts countless people.

Charles also smiled and said casually, "If it weren't for Mulholland Drive, Naomi Watts would probably have faded away, just like countless other ordinary people who failed to achieve their dreams."

Evelyn nodded. The current Charles was no longer the casual young man he once was, but a rising producer in Hollywood and the boss of a film production company.

"Are you very worried about the public release of lost in translation?"

"Worried about what? The release date is set, and Focus Features won't really invest much in promotion. It still needs to rely on word-of-mouth," Charles said, helpless. Distribution isn't something you can just find a cinema chain, copy the film, and screen it.

Without resources, you can't even meet the head of a cinema chain. For one or two films, why would a cinema chain bother with you?

Distribution companies all sign a series of distribution agreements with cinema chains; they need to be able to continuously provide films to theaters.

Commercial films are more welcomed by theaters, but large-scale public releases require a huge amount of promotion fees, and without financial support, it's unsustainable.

The large number of service personnel in distribution channels, their salaries are also a big expense, as are marketing, planning, downstream merchandise, and DVD, TV distribution, online brand licensing, and so on.

Looking at Scarlett Johansson, who was being interviewed by reporters, along with Sofia Coppola and the male lead Bill Murray, lost in translation actually didn't have too many promotional points.

Perhaps, Sofia Coppola's identity was the best promotional point.

"Bill Murray is an old-school comedian, and Sofia is the daughter of the Coppola family, a 30-year-old new female director, so there are still some topics," Evelyn also managed Sofia's business, though her freedom was great, and her business was very little.

Just like Charles, Evelyn also managed some of his work, essentially acting as his manager.

"lost in translation is Capet Pictures' first work in the true sense, and it has great significance. Don't worry, I will definitely take it seriously!"

Charles also didn't want to miss the opportunity to make money.

"By the way, Keira Knightley's pirates of the caribbean: the curse of the black pearl is over, right? Does she have a new project?" Charles asked. The pirates of the caribbean series, what a cash cow.

Evelyn nodded, smiling, "She's currently filming a romance film, Love Actually, in the UK. It features many excellent actors and is a love story about ten couples."

"After pirates of the caribbean: the curse of the black pearl is released next year, Keira will definitely become well-known. She should also take the opportunity to improve her acting skills. Johnny Depp's look is very attractive, and combined with his performance, he will be the absolute core of the film!" Charles kindly reminded, as a self-taught actress like Keira Knightley needs continuous honing of her acting skills so that she can still get resources after leaving the pirates of the caribbean series in the future.

Charles chatted with his mother while casually observing the filmmakers in the venue. As for the movie fans, Charles was definitely not paying attention to them.

"George A. Romero is also here. I heard that Universal Pictures is planning to remake his zombie film recently!" Evelyn suddenly said.

"Hmm, George A. Romero, the originator of zombie films, the writer and director of the Living Dead series," Charles pondered, remaking a zombie film, dawn of the dead.

Zack Snyder? Is he about to break out?

"Which one are they remaking? Night of the Living Dead, dawn of the dead, or Day of the Dead? These are the most famous zombie trilogy."

Evelyn shook her head, smiling, "I've only heard people talk about it; the specifics haven't been decided yet!"

Charles thought for a moment, organized his words, and then spoke, "I previously discovered a young director for filming and advertising named Zack Snyder. He's a very talented director; you can sign him."

"Maybe then, he'll be the next Michael Bay."

"Really? Zack Snyder!" Evelyn now highly trusted Charles's ideas, after all, he was her own son, and Keira Knightley's agency contract had been incredibly successful.

Charles nodded. dawn of the dead should be looking for him. A B-grade horror film breaking out, but Charles was more interested in the muscle-bound male movie 300, which heavily criticized Iran.

Soon, the screening of the ring was about to begin, but Evelyn left early, telling Charles to take Scarlett home afterward.

In the theater, Scarlett found her seat but didn't see Evelyn, only Charles was there.

"She had an urgent matter. I'll take you home after it's over!" Charles explained from beside her.

"Home? God, I'm already 18 this year, right? Is that still necessary?" Scarlett Johansson was indeed 18 this year, but her birthday wasn't until November.

Charles glanced casually. As expected of the epitome of a sexy actress, her figure was curvaceous.

"You're not living with your mother anymore?"

"No, she stayed with me for a few days when I was filming in Japan, and I haven't seen her much since," Scarlett Johansson said.

"Let's watch the movie first!" After the lights went out, only the screen's light remained in the theater.

"I heard the original version of this movie in Japan scared people to death, haha!" Charles teased.

"Mmm," Scarlett Johansson nervously held Charles's hand and leaned close to him.

"So, are we still watching?"

"Don't worry, with me here, what's there to be afraid of?" He said, gently patting the Lady.

The movie began to play, and as the plot unfolded, some audience members in the theater started screaming, while others took deep breaths. The horror special effects of the visuals were indeed very strong.

By the middle of the movie, Scarlett was almost completely nestled in Charles's arms, and Charles, holding the bombshell, was also feeling restless.

"How about we leave?" Scarlett Johansson suddenly suggested.

"Leave?" Charles thought for a moment and nodded.

"Let's go!"

Then, Charles took Scarlett Johansson directly out of the theater.

In the car, as soon as the door closed, they hugged and kissed.

Afterward, the two drove directly back to Charles's residence in Santa Monica!
