Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Perform Well

In the Peninsula Hotel parking lot, Charles Capet was about to drive away.

"Charles, wait," Naomi Watts quickly walked over from behind.

"What's wrong, Naomi?" Charles asked, puzzled.

"I want to leave too. How about we go have dinner together?" Naomi Watts actually wanted to ask Charles about brokeback mountain.

"Let's go to a bar and sit for a while," Charles was not in a hurry for just one night.

In a private room of a bar near West Hollywood, Charles and Naomi started chatting.

Sure enough, Naomi Watts was there to inquire about brokeback mountain. Naomi Watts was also a member of the Australian Gang, just like Mel Gibson, even though one was British and the other American.

However, both grew up in Australia, then entered the entertainment industry, and later Hollywood.

The members of the Hollywood Australian Gang were truly united. Directors and actors always prioritized working with their compatriots.

"It hasn't started preparation yet. I should develop it next year. The director hasn't been confirmed yet, but I already have a candidate," Charles said, then asked about Heath Ledger's acting method.

"That's right, he's an immersive actor. He puts himself into the role when acting, so the performance he presents will be very consistent with the character. You know the drawbacks," Naomi explained.

Charles nodded. The three schools of acting are the "Method School," "Experiential School," and "Representational School."

The Representational School is the most common, with most actors belonging to it; the Experiential School is less common but the most intense; the Method School lies between the two.

Someone like Heath Ledger is an Experiential actor, just like the British actor Daniel Day-Lewis. He directly immerses himself for the role, taking on the identity of the character in the film.

In the future, after Heath Ledger played the Joker, he couldn't get out of it and ended his life.

The Experiential School is about being completely consumed or not succeeding, almost like acting with one's life.

"British and Australian actors have the highest compatibility in Hollywood. Compared to actors from other European regions, they are all from English-speaking areas, so there are no language barriers. This is an advantage, and I have no prejudice against foreign actors!" Charles was not just unprejudiced; compared to local actors, the cost-effective British and Australian actors were more favored by Charles.

From a spiritual perspective, Charles certainly didn't like English-speaking countries, and therefore wouldn't have any sympathy or compassion.

Doing things that capitalists like to do was even more stress-free.

"Heath's acting is good, and he's very serious about acting. If it works out, you can let him audition then," Naomi said expectantly.

Charles nodded. This was one of the male leads he had reserved for brokeback mountain!

In the middle of the night, Charles drove Naomi Watts back to her residence in Inglewood.

After the car stopped in front of Naomi's house garden, Naomi Watts kissed Charles and asked with some concern, "You drank a lot just now. Are you okay?"

"I live in Santa Monica, not far from here!" Charles felt it was not a big problem.

"Come in for a cup of coffee!"

"Oh, all right!"

After following Naomi into the house, Charles took off his jacket and sat on the sofa. Naomi made a cup of coffee and handed it to Charles, then sat next to him, smiling, "Back in Los Angeles, I haven't seen you with a female companion, have I?"

"I have a lot going on right now. Most of my time is spent on Capet Pictures, with renovations, moving, and the films I'm involved in," Charles said, shrugging. He was so busy, where would he find time for women?

Women would probably only slow down Charles's current money-making speed.

"So, how long has it been since you've had that?"

"How long?" Charles paused, then looked at Naomi Watts. Since returning from Budapest, which was late July, not that long ago!

He reached out and gently stroked Naomi Watts's golden hair, then lowered his head and kissed her.

When the kiss ended, Naomi Watts, slightly out of breath, chuckled, "Charles, if Ms. Capet knew I slept with you, she'd probably terminate my contract!"

"Then you'll have to perform well!"

Soon, Naomi Watts stood completely in front of Charles, then squatted down.

The next day at noon, Charles woke up. He got up from the Lady wrapped around him, looked at the still sleepy Naomi Watts, and said, "It's getting late. I have to go to the company!"

"Oh, then be careful on your way. I still need to sleep a bit more," Naomi Watts responded with her eyes closed and a nasal voice, then pulled the blanket up to cover her fair body.

Only when she heard the car start outside did Naomi open her eyes, her face flushed, and she touched her face with her hand.

"God, it really is..." Naomi had a wonderful night. Heath Ledger had apparently wanted to ask her out, and although she hadn't made up her mind, they were about to work together on 'Kelly Gang,' so Naomi Watts was preparing to try dating Heath Ledger.

She was 11 years older than Heath Ledger. Her inquiry to Charles last night about brokeback mountain wasn't just because Heath Ledger was Australian.

"However, Charles Capet certainly has a charm that attracts women. Young, handsome, talented, and now he's even started a film company, with a net worth of tens of millions!" Naomi murmured to herself, then smiled and shook her head. A one-night stand or a few nights were fine.

Anything beyond that was definitely impossible!

Meanwhile, after Charles returned to the company, he began to check the Writers Guild's copyright library. The Writers Guild is divided into the West Coast Writers Guild in Los Angeles and the East Coast Writers Guild in New York. Indeed, the idea for wedding crashers was not registered in the creative or script databases of either of the two major Writers Guilds.

Although the two major Writers Guilds managed themselves separately, they both belonged to the Writers Association and were essentially the same!

Since it wasn't there yet, it was his.

"John and Jeremy are a pair of very good work partners, and they also share the same hobby—attending weddings! No matter what the wedding host is, or what form the wedding party takes, from Jewish, Italian, Irish, Indian, to Chinese, and so on, this pair of partners always manages to sneak in, specifically to seduce single Ladys who become emotional because of the wedding—the bridesmaids..."

The story of wedding crashers is simple: two playboys specifically crash other people's weddings to hook up with bridesmaids for one-night stands, until they meet their true love at one wedding.

With the idea, all that was needed was to find screenwriters to flesh it out into a script!

Within two days, Charles had instructed Donna to register the copyright for the wedding crashers script idea with the Writers Guild.

Now, wedding crashers became part of Capet Pictures' inventory.
