Chapter 35: Oblivion Descends.

~~~ [START]
The window to a silent home blew the curtains ablaze, moving and touching Bella's hair, who later fixed it back, stood, then closed its doors.
"Bells! Lock the door when you leave, I'll… I'm working late!" Charlie said from downstairs.
And Bella pouted awkwardly at the sound of the shutting door when he left.
So she turned around, walking to the chair near her computer, and dropped backward onto its comfort. She kept still for a moment, with her head turned upward, staring daggers at her white, paint-less ceiling, which had darkened because of the setting sun outside and the dim lights of her room.
And then, as if summoned, the phone rang beside her, and she picked it up.
She laughed when the person on the other side started speaking, but when they continued, one of her brows raised. "Wait… why don't we take my car?"
And when the reply came, she clicked her tongue. Jessica was always making fun of it. She didn't even have a car, but instead of accepting a ride from Bella, she outed they take a cab instead, fearing that Bella's truck might break down, which would result in them becoming the party's laughing stocks.
"Okay, I'll just meet you guys there," Bella replied, shaking her head with a smile at Jessica's next command, "Yes, I'll park away from it."
Then the call cut, and again she slumped deeper on the seat, with her eyes occasionally glancing at the window.
The party was starting at 7, so she believed she had sufficient time before it began. And even if she were late, she was only going there for one reason.
The truth.
{ELSEWHERE}
It had been hours now, and Gina's house had already begun filling up. The music was buzzing louder than it should have been, so much so that she had to pay the neighbours off to avoid it. And what was worse was that the clouds were gathering above the sky, showing some hints of rain. And even if it were the smallest of signs, it meant the usage of the pool was out of discussion.
"Gina," A red-haired girl walked in the door, moving and pulling Gina for a hug, "How has it been?"
Gina faked a smile toward her, trying with all her might to pull apart. "Amenda. Oh, I'm good, it's just… um, you got an invite?"
"Of course… Well, I should have. I just figured you were too busy arranging stuff and forgot to send it by," The girl didn't even stay long after she spoke; she just started looking around, then looked back, "Tony! Bring the juice, dear."
Tony walked up the porch stairs, carrying 3 boxes at once. "Hey, Gina."
Gina nodded with a smile. "Sup, T."
Tony was actually someone she had invited, but it seemed he'd brought Amenda as a guest.
"Okay, Tony, let's move!" Amenda pulled Tony by the arm, causing him to nearly stumble as he followed her to the sitting room.
"Cannonball!"
A naked teen screamed as he cannonballed into the pool, which Gina had explicitly said shouldn't be used. Gina breathed through her nose, shook her head, turned, and started making her way toward the stairs.
But a smile crept up her lips when the front door opened; it was Troy, who, even though he was an hour late, stood to be the most important person who had entered.
Gina dashed to him, grabbing both of his hands and causing the large black plastic bags of snacks and sweets he was holding to hit the ground.
"I need you," Gina said, eyes widened as if possessed.
Troy laughed nervously, pulled back his hands, then grabbed the now-dropped plastic bags. "What do you need, woman—?"
His words were abruptly halted when another teen shouted, "He's on fire!" from the backyard.
It was chaotic, but for some reason, it caused a sudden chuckle to escape him. And much like himself, a giggle escaped Gina too.
"It's getting late, let's go." Emmett hung an arm around Edward, who was waiting near the door.
Edward raised a brow. "Go? Where?"
"What? The party," Emmett said, turning behind him as Roselie, who was wearing black leather, approached from the stairs.
The attire for the party was biker, much to say the least, the clothes were perfectly fit.
Edward nearly shot another question, but Alice walked down after her, and a smile spread on her lips.
"What?" Alice asked, noting Edward's frown. "They got invites, so they said they were coming."
Edythe came next, laughing as her hands tightened around Jasper's neck, who was carrying her around like a backpack.
Edward sighed, shaking his head as everyone left through the door, making their leave.
The future was unprecedented, and slowly, he was finding out.
"So, don't you make these every year? Why is it so chaotic?" Troy voiced, frowning at the DJ, who was for some reason increasing the sound from the speakers.
Gina sighed under her breath. "My grandpa is usually here for these things."
Troy chuckled at the lie, clearly taken aback.
"Na, I'm serious," Gina assured, closing the lid of the juice punch they had mixed with some alcohol. "I make him dress like security so it doesn't get weird, but… the geezer bailed on me."
Troy just shook his head, grabbing the lid of another juice punch and slowly closing the tab.
Honey was still out buying extra essentials. So the moment of her return did somewhat cross his mind.
But he was oblivious to the truth, or in this sense, the future.
