Chapter 14 - LITTLE PAMMY

Robellia jolted awake to the smell of smoke. Looking around, she realized she was at her family cottage. She looked down at herself; she still had her adult body. She hurried out of bed and ran towards the door. Opening it, she could hear the screams of people as they burned alive. The fire was ablaze as each cottage was lit up. The entire village was chaotic. Robellia took a step back in panic," No... this is just a dream. Just a dream." "MOTHER!" she heard a little girl cry. She recognized that voice, "Pammy," she whispered as she turned towards the source of the cry. Pamela was Robellia's childhood best friend. The two were practically inseparable, along with their close friend Williams. Robellia rushed to the back of the cottage next to theirs, and there she saw her little Pamela holding onto her dying mother. She then heard the hunters coming towards them.

Robellia rushed towards Pamela."Pammy, we have to go. The hunters are coming." The cute little girl with dark red hair and emerald eyes looked up at her, "I can't leave her here." Robellia sighed as she got down to her knees," Auntie Maya, can you at least try to stand up?" The woman, drained in blood, looked into her eyes, "Liya, my child." "Yes, it's me. We have to get you out of here. You have to help me. Pammy needs you. I need you." Maya smiled, "Well, they say your life flashes before your eyes in the last moments, but what I see now is hope. I don't know how you are here. Help my little girl, Liya. I am dying, and I will only add some weight to get her to a carriage." Pamela wouldn't stop crying." Pamela, my dear. Look at me. I love you, my child. I need you to be strong."

Pamela cried, shaking her head, "Mother, please. Please, mother." "Check every nook and cranny, no witch lives tonight," they heard one of the hunters yell out the order. "Pammy, we have to go." Robellia lifted her and pulled her along. She could vividly remember where the carriages were that night. She ran into the forest, holding onto little Pamela's hand. They finally caught sight of one of the carriages. "Aah! wait. my foot." Robellia stopped and turned around to see Pamela in pain. Pamela sat down as she looked at her foot. a nail stuck right through her foot. "Oh! no." Robellia panicked as she knelt next to her. "It hurts." Pamela cried. "Look at me, Pammy. I'm not going to let them hurt you. I can at least save you in my dreams." "Liya, it really is you." Pamela looked astonished. "I see them," a hunter yelled. Robellia looked down at her ring and pulled it off. "Aah!"

Robellia let out a scream as overwhelming power surged through her body. She fell to the ground. She gathered herself and got up. "This is going to hurt," she told Pamela before pulling out the long nail. "Aah!" the little girl cried. Robellia covered Pamela's tiny foot with both of her palms as she began to chant her spell. Though it had been decades, she could clearly remember the incantations. When she was done, Pamela had fully healed, "now Run. run to the carriage and don't you dare stop. ran, pammy." pamela began to ran Robellia stood up and turned back to the hunters that where now only a few feet away from her. "get that witch" Robellia opened her palms as she looked up at the sky, "Ancestors hear me." She began to chant a mantra. She then heard screams. When she looked at the hunters, they were burning alive as they ran around. Robellia stopped in horror and began to run. That's when she fell. She fell into the darkness.

Robellia jolted awake as she sat up on her bed. She looked around. She was back in her room. She let out an exhausted breath as she covered her face." It was just a dream," she told herself over and over again before regaining her composure. She got out of bed and decided to just push the dream to the back of her head. Her mother was already out of bed. That was a good thing; at least her mother was doing better. She looked down at her father's ring. She had never taken it off since that fateful night, but in that dream, she felt herself again. She felt complete after taking it off. She felt free. For a moment, she was tempted to take it off.

She groaned as she pulled her thoughts together. She got ready and went to Genevieve's room before they both headed down to the kitchen. "How did you sleep last night? You look horrible," Genevieve commented. "Well, thank you, Gene. That's so nice of you." Robellia sarcastically responded. "Was it the nightmares again?" Robellia sighed, "Yes, it was." "Want to talk about it?" Genevieve looked worried. She knew how bad her nightmares could get; she had witnessed it firsthand multiple times. "Not really." "Okay, I get. On the bright side, I get to see Oliver today, and you go on that lunch date." Genevieve tried to lighten her mood. "It's not a date, Gene." Genevieve grinned, "Mhmmm."
