Sonia's body trembled uncontrollably as those fragments bled through and the memory which she thought she had lost tore through her like a blade.
The betrayal was now pronounced.
It wasn't just at her bedside. Their betrayal had led her to the hospital, to a coma, and finally to her death.
Sonia understood the truth clearly now, they had always wanted her dead…her husband and his mistress.
Her gaze was locked on their figures ahead.
Cyndi, seemingly a family friend and presented as her best friend, clung to Alex's arm.
Her body leaned into him as though she belonged there, as though nothing had ever happened.
As though they weren't grieving for someone they both lost.
Her head tilted toward him, whispering something softly, her fingers gripping his sleeve in a way that felt too intimate for mourning.
To the onlookers, it was nothing more than grief. The devastated best friend leaning on the grieving husband.
A pitiful sight.
A believable lie.
