Amelia, with a deep breath takes Salem's hand in her hand and she's fine.
Salem feels the warmth of her hand in his, and he sighs. Happy that her hand isn't getting third degree burns.
Salem: "Are you okay? Not to hot?"
Salem can see himself in her round glasses.
Amelia shakes her head, her glasses bouncing side to side on her face.
Amelia: "Is this really how hot you can be?"
Wonder: 'No.'
Salem: "I think I could go hotter, but I'm not really good enough to be doing that yet… I'm scared I could burn down the school if I did."
Amelia and Salem have been holding hands for a while now.
Salem: "Okay… Are you ready?"
Amelia looks down, then behind her at her bag as it's stuffed besides Salem and in the darkened area of the bleachers.
Amelia: "I'd guess so. Wait but flying with something have you ever done it before?"
Salem shakes his head.
Salem: "Last time I even flew I burned my clothes off and it left me naked… and I had to stop a nuke from hitting Guam… so."
Amelia: "So you've never done this type of thing before?"
Salem: "No."
Amelia: "I'm the test subject for this?"
Salem looks down as he begins to speak.
Salem: "I'm sorry I didn't know if you wanted to do this, I probably should have asked before I…"
Amelia: "Let's do it."
Salem looks up at Amelia.
Salem: "Are you sure that you want to do this?"
He paused.
Salem: "I mean you could end up getting hurt?"
Amelia: "I've been hurt before. This should be fine."
Salem shakes his head.
Salem: "Being hit and Being burned are two different feelings."
Amelia: "But you're not going to burn me right?"
She says it like a command.
Salem shakes his head aggressively.
Salem: "No. I won't."
Amelia smiles as Salem reassures her.
Amelia: "Then we should be fine."
Salem: "You trust me just like that?"
Amelia: "I trust the guy that saved the island from disaster. That shouldn't be a problem right?"
Salem feels his hearts skipping beats.
He's never been complimented so well in his life before.
Salem: "Yes you can trust me."
Amelia steps closer her hand still in his hand.
Amelia: "I've never flew before… please don't drop me."
Salem shakes his head.
Salem: "I don't plan to."
Salem grabs her into his arms without thinking, then gets flustered when she's in his arms.
Amelia as well. Her face turning just as red as his, well maybe not as red but still red.
Salem: "I'm sorry I should have asked before I picked you up."
Amelia looks away from him.
Amelia: "It's fine, just please don't drop me."
Salem tightens his legs, then with a massive jump into the sky then levitate above the school. Amelia immediately pulls closer to Salem as she grips his shirt.
Amelia screams. Not gut wrenching but full of fear and surprise.
Salem tightens his grip on Amelia, then focuses his thoughts on three things.
Hold Amelia tight, Keep the fire off of her body and flight straight.
Those are the three main things that he needs to do.
Checking with Amelia once more he looks into his arms. Right now Amelia looks like a dog that is very clingy, as she looks to the ground then grips Salem shirt even tighter as she holds on for dear life.
Salem lets out a chuckle at the implication.
Amelia: "What's so funny?!"
She screams to his face as they hover above the ground. Her and his face the only thing they have apart from each other.
Salem: "Nothing… sorry. Are you okay to continue?"
Amelia looks at the ground then at Salem.
Amelia: "You promise you won't drop me?!"
She screams just as loud as before, must be her instinct to just scream.
Salem: "I promise I won't drop you."
Amelia: "Okay then…"
She puts her face into Salem chest.
His heart has been beating like a 20 kick drum bass for a while now.
Amelia smiles at that, clearly understanding that he's embarrassed.
Amelia: "…let's go!"
Salem slowly at first starts to fly then slowly his speed ramps up.
Salem doesn't know the full extent of his flight speed nor the full control but he doesn't plan to test it today.
He begins to fly at a reason able pace as he looks at the ground below him.
Many people below are passing by him at a rapid speed.
Amelia screams.
Amelia: "My glasses!"
Salem looks down to her, then further down to her glasses.
Salem without thinking dives for it. Amelia digs her face deeper into his chest.
Salem: "Hug me with your arms!"
The glasses gets closer to the ground.
Amelia: "What?!"
Salem: "Hug me now!"
She does so without thinking.
Wrapping her arms around Salem as he begins to hold her with one arm. Pulling her into a bear hug.
Salem with Amelia get closer to the ground and closer and closer and before the glasses or them can touch the ground Salem has the glasses in his free hand as he immediately begins to ascend a person next to him catching a split second of both Amelia and Salem's face, but not long enough for the person to have their face memorized.
Salem: "ARE YOU OKAY?!"
He begins to level himself out as he continues his pathing straight to the mall, that's an eye shot away from them.
Amelia: "Oh My God! Oh My God! I'm gonna pee myself Salem! Hurry up!"
Salem flew faster, but he was to scared to get to fast and not focus well on the sights in front of him.
Salem: "I'm trying! I'm trying!"
Salem grows closer and closer as the figure that looked like an ant in the distance grows in size as he gets closer.
Salem feels Amelia gripping his shirt even tighter as they get closer.
The mall is now a behemoth that will stand over them like an elephant over an ant once they land.
Salem circles the place once then finds an empty place and drops down with Amelia in his hands.
Salem: "Here's your glasses."
Salem puts Amelia on the ground but she doesn't let go of Salem.
Amelia: "Why did you do that?!"
Salem drops the flaming form and turns into his regular brown skin color.
Salem: "What do you mean?"
Amelia: "You know?! When you flew down!"
Salem: "You dropped your glasses…"
His voice sounding like he's not seeing his mistake.
Amelia: "They weren't more important than our lives!"
Salem: "You screamed for them. I thought you'd need them, aren't you like blind, blind?"
Amelia: "No just slightly!"
Salem: "Please stop yelling."
Amelia looks at Salem like he's insane.
Amelia: "No..!"
She shakes her head, then burns holes through his face.
Amelia: "We almost died!"
Wonder: 'You would have lived.'
Salem: 'Not helping.'
Amelia: "Don't do that shit again!"
Salem looks down embarrassed by his mistake.
Salem: "I'm sorry."
Amelia: "You better fucking be!"
Salem looks down at Amelia hand that still grips his shirt, then Amelia looks at Salem, and she immediately pulls her hand off of Salem.
Amelia: "God! I don't even need to pee anymore."
Salem: "Sorry."
Amelia: "What did we need to find now?"
Salem looks up at Amelia.
Salem: "An effigy."
Amelia: "What type of Effigy?"
Wonder: 'A Japanese effigy.'
Salem: "A Japanese effi- A Japanese effigy?!"
Salem sounds surprised at himself for what he said.
Amelia: "Are you surprised at yourself?"
Salem: "No sorry."
Wonder: 'That thing that said it would eat your brother is Japanese. I had some help with it, but to stop it I have to get the help of another Myth, through an Effigy."
Salem: "Okay, so a scary thing is in my brothers life and he it's his friend but in reality it wants to kill him."
Amelia looks at him surprised, then she sighs.
Amelia: "Thank God. I thought you just ended up turning into a weirdo all of a sudden."
Salem: "What?"
Amelia: "Yeah I thought after getting superpowers you ended up becoming a weird god enthusiast that worshiped a made up God."
Salem: "Why would I do that?"
Amelia: "Because you were asking for an effigy and stuff."
Salem: "Why would I do that?"
Amelia: "For cool powers."
She said that so nonchalantly.
Salem: "We should probably go inside."
Amelia nods and they begin to walk around the giant building. Salem and Amelia look around as people file in and others walk out.
Many different doors that have people in and out. Yelling, screaming, talking. Some have kids that are crying, Salem and Amelia file in as the crowd continues.
Both of them enter to see a giant, endless abyss of entertainment and shopping and some people inside helping out customers in there store.
As many people talk Salem and Amelia meet up after being dragged slightly apart by the crowd of people.
Amelia: "Where would we find a Japanese effigy in this place?"
People walk around them as they enter or exit the building, both Salem and Amelia walk forward and through to make their way through the crowd and look around.
Salem: "I'm not fully sure on how to find one."
Salem and Amelia look around the place as they try to find a store that they could find an effigy in.
Amelia: "You've been saying weird things all day… can't you say something that could help us ou…"
She's stopped as someone walks up to her.
A guy. The same height as Salem walks up to Amelia.
Salem stops and looks back at Amelia as she is stopped.
The man is white, with a hat that's backwards, a black-tee with a design that has a flower growing from the bottom right to the top left corner. And jeans that have a cut in the knees.
The White Guy: "Hey girl. I saw you from across the mall and was wondering if I could get your number?"
He laughs cockily.
Salem looks at Amelia and his heart drops like, LOW. For some reason he wants her to say no, but Salem doesn't want to be weird so he just looks at her, then she looks at Salem.
The White Guy follows her movement.
He smiles then chuckles.
The White Guy: "This guy your boy?! Looks like a weirdo. You need a real guy."
Amelia looks at him weirdly. The White Guy looks weird at Salem as his smile returns as he looks at Amelia.
Amelia: "That's not cool. That probably why you're alone."
Amelia snaps back at him.
The White Guy: "Bitch what?!"
Salem heart picks back up into his chest and he walks over to The White Guy. Salem puts a hand on his should to tell him something, but before that, the man's fist comes running to Salem's face.
Salem slips away from it last second but he doesn't fire back with another one. Instead Salem pushes the guy back and he goes flying.
His distance gets tripled as he bumps into a guy that has more muscle than a gorilla, hair in a combover and gym clothes.
Making Salem, Amelia and the guy get scared.
The White Guy looks up and sees the gorilla looking down at him.
The White Guy: "I'm sorry but that dude over there pushed me."
The Gorilla looks at Salem, miles away from them, then back down to The White Guy.
Gorilla: "Yeah right Jackass."
The Gorilla grabs The White Guy and literally starts wailing on him, fist just going up and down. And with the strength of an actual Gorilla.
Salem stands there stunned as Amelia grabs Salem wrist and begins to walk away with him.
Salem: "Oh I think I just got that guy incredibly injured…"
Amelia: "It's okay he was an asshole and a aggressive person."
Salem: "What if he needs to go to the hospital?"
Salem tries to keep both feet up as Amelia is somehow very strong.
Amelia: "Doesn't matter."
She huffs as she lets continues to make them both exit the view of Gorilla and now seemingly dying White Guy.
Amelia and Salem continue walking as they see a random store that has a lot of clothes.
Amelia: "We're going to wait here."
Salem: "Why?"
Amelia: "Because I said so."
Salem takes the cue and understands her.
He looks around the store and notices that the store is full of not only clothes, but lingerie.
Salem jumps a look to Amelia but she doesn't seem to be looking around the store.
He goes wide eyed as girls in the store begin to look at Salem as he tries not to focus to much on them.
A television on the corner of the store starts talking about the news as Salem feels his heart beat faster.
Salem taps Amelia on the shoulder.
Salem: "Amelia… I'm uncomfortable in this store…"
Amelia: "Why?"
Salem: "It's a… weird place?"
Amelia looks out of the store, then turns to Salem.
She looks behind Salem and gasps.
Amelia: "Salem look the television?"
Salem thought she gasped at the clothing.
Salem: "What wrong?"
He turns and looks at the clothes then up at a screen.
A picture of Salem… Or more The Burning Man as it he's flying up quickly with Amelia in his arms as she clings to him, but her face isn't fully visible but the one thing that is visible is her uniform.
