POV: Kyo
When the next day came, I went to school. As soon as I sat down, the group of three girls approached me again. Aiko spoke first.
"You didn't forget what you told us yesterday, right? You're coming to karaoke with us."
"That's right—you're not going to change your mind, are you?" Mei added.
Huff~~
I let out a sigh and then smiled at them. "I'll go, don't worry. What about those other two?"
"Oh, those two? After what happened yesterday, they got mad and said things like, 'Don't ever talk to us again,' and 'If you like that guy so much, just ignore us and go have fun with him.' I laughed so hard at the time."
Aiko remembered it and started laughing.
Thankfully, those guys aren't my classmates. That would've been awkward.
"I see. I don't want to hurt their feelings or anything," I said, playing along.
"Don't worry about them—you didn't do anything wrong~~ Those two are really annoying. They've been chasing us for a long time."
"Chasing you two," Sakura corrected. Given her more childlike appearance, it made sense. They were after Aiko and Mei.
"Well, yeah—but I didn't like them at all. I only hung out with them because they paid for everything," Aiko said bluntly. She's pretty honest… Hearing that made me reconsider whether becoming friends with them was a good idea.
"Hey, don't say that. Even if they were paying just to get closer to us, they were always kind," Mei scolded her.
"Hmph!" Aiko pouted, and I gave a bitter smile.
"Alright, see you after school?" Mei asked, and I nodded. The two girls cheered, and Sakura gave a shy smile.
With their celebration, everyone in the classroom turned to look at us.
"Hey, did you hear that? Kyo agreed to go out with those three girls."
"I didn't expect that. Isn't this the first time he's accepted a karaoke invite? They've asked him so many times, but he always refused!"
"Maybe he likes one of them?"
And just like that, the rumors started.
I don't feel the need to deny anything. I sighed and looked out the window. Then my phone vibrated—I had received a message from my mother.
[Kyo, didn't you get a message or email from your agency? They said they got you an audition! Contact me as soon as you can!]
An audition?
The corner of my lips curled into a smile.
The first time I attended an audition, I was rejected because I didn't have a voice.
'I'm sure everything will go well this time.'

Classes passed without anything major happening. Once again, the teacher asked me many questions, and I answered them all correctly—but I was already used to that.
I'm the top student in the school, after all.
As soon as class ended, the three girls approached me.
I had almost forgotten.
"So, shall we go? Don't worry—I'll pay for everything!" Aiko said.
"You're paying? That's surprising," Mei said in disbelief.
"You never pay—what a surprise," Sakura added.
I laughed and said, "Let's go. But I don't know any karaoke places nearby—do you?"
Hearing my question, Aiko replied, "Don't worry, we can take the subway to the city center."
I don't usually take the subway, but I agreed.
We left the school and headed for the station.
The three girls walked ahead, chatting about random things, while I followed behind, just observing.
After a while, we arrived at the station.
As soon as we entered, I was surprised to see a photo of myself there. Thankfully, it was just a banner.
"Wow, it's you! It really is you! I didn't know they put your photo here!" Aiko said, her eyes sparkling.
"Hey, don't make a scene. I don't want people to notice me."
"Oh, right, sorry."
We got on the subway and headed to the city center.
When we arrived, I followed the girls to a karaoke place that looked a bit run-down. Aiko asked for two hours and also ordered drinks and snacks. I'll pay later—I don't want her covering everything.
Then we headed to our room.
It wasn't very big—a table in the center, cushioned seats around it, a karaoke machine, and a large screen where the lyrics would appear and where we could choose songs.
As soon as we entered, Aiko was the first to sing.
She picked a popular song from this world—an upbeat J-pop track.
It was very similar to the songs from my old world. If I had to compare, it sounded like something produced by YOASOBI.
When she finished, her score appeared on the screen.
"78 points! Not bad!" Mei praised her. "Alright, my turn."
Before she started singing, our drinks and snacks were brought in.
I watched Mei sing and dance while eating.
She's better than Aiko.
With my S-rank singing ability, I can analyze their skills very accurately.
"81 points!" Mei said excitedly. "Who's next? Sakura, do you want to go?"
"Ah, no… I think I'll pass."
"But your voice is great~~ Don't tell me you're embarrassed because Kyo is here?"
I looked at Sakura, and she seemed like she was about to explode.
So I stood up and said, "I'll sing now."
"Ohhh! You sound confident!"
"Kyo! Kyo! Kyo!" Aiko started chanting my name, cheering me on.
I searched for a song I knew and found a J-pop track similar to the one Aiko had sung. Of course, it was sung by a man.
His voice is a bit raspy.
It reminds me of Kenshi Yonezu's voice.
Too bad those great artists don't exist in this world. I'd love to be friends with them.
And if they do exist, they haven't become famous yet.
The upbeat melody started playing, and the lyrics appeared on the screen.
But I didn't need to look—I knew the entire song.
When I started singing, a powerful and beautiful voice echoed throughout the karaoke room.
A voice so perfect that I could hardly believe it was mine.
All three girls were stunned, their mouths wide open.
But I didn't stop.
I kept singing as if my life depended on it. I hit even the highest notes like a professional singer at their peak.
When I finished, the three of them stared at me as if they couldn't believe what they had just heard.
"…"
"…"
"…Wow…" The only one who managed to say anything was Aiko.
And of course… my score—
100!
