Chapter 42 - Manager and Driver. - Entertainment Prodigy

My mother and father stepped forward first, and my father asked, "Who are you?" Of course, having strangers suddenly show up in a black car looking for me would put him on alert.

But I could already guess who they were.

"My name is Daiki Moriyama. I am the driver who will be working for Mr. Kyo Evans starting today. The car was provided by the company." The man took his ID out of the front pocket of his suit, and my father examined it.

It looked legitimate.

Then my father turned to the woman.

"My name is Rina Tachibana. I was selected as Kyo's manager. I will take care of his schedule and support him from now on. I will accompany him to his appointments." She bowed.

She looked very young—and very beautiful.

My mother, hearing that, asked, "Does that mean I can't accompany him?"

"You should accompany him, Mrs. Evans. I will be there as well, but since Kyo is still very young, you need to stay with him."

"I see, that's a relief." She sighed.

"We came here today to pick you up for the audition. But before that, Mr. Rikuya would like to speak with you."

My father, after carefully checking everything, approached my mother and kissed her. "Be careful and take care of Kyo. Keep me informed."

He then crouched down, looked me in the eyes, placed his hands on my shoulders, and said, "Good luck, kid. I'm sure you'll get the role." Then he hugged me and left for work.

My new manager, Rina, had already gotten into the car, and the driver was waiting for us to get in before closing the door.

I looked at my mother and headed toward the car, which was of very good quality. It wasn't a luxury car, but it was new—like it had been bought that very day. The fresh interior smell was great.

Once we got in, Rina pulled out a small notebook and said,

"Your schedule for today is extremely short. We'll have a meeting with Mr. Rikuya, and then we'll go to the location where the audition is being held. Depending on the outcome, we may need to return to Amuse Inc. to handle the contract."

"Alright." I nodded, looking straight ahead.

"Do you want me to add anything to your schedule?"

"No need. After I finish this, I want to go home—I have things to do."

"Understood. Now, give me your phone." Rina said, looking at me coldly.

Are you my manager or my mother?

My mother looked surprised at how Rina acted. She really is serious and cold.

I handed her my phone, and after a moment, she gave it back.

"I added my number and Mr. Daiki's number to your contacts. We'll need to stay in touch."

"No matter where you are, if you call me, I'll be at your service," Daiki said, looking back with a smile.

"Alright, thank you."

After that, we continued the trip in silence.

It's great that I now have a manager and a driver, but this all happened so suddenly that I feel a bit nervous.

I wanted to hire my own manager and driver…

Well, I'll work with them for now. If I don't like them, I'll replace them without hesitation.

I looked out the window as the scenery passed quickly.

He's a very skilled driver. I might even fall asleep.

After a few minutes, the car parked at the Amuse Inc. lot, and the driver opened the door for me and my mother.

He stayed in the parking lot while my mother and I followed Rina to Mr. Rikuya's office.

As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a big smile.

After meeting Rikuya, he began explaining what had happened. He said that the director of the series, Takumi Hayashida, was the one who chose me for the role of Sota Mizuno.

I asked Rikuya how a director like Takumi even knew me, and he said Takumi saw my photos online like everyone else and contacted the agency to learn more about me.

Takumi had originally intended to invite me for a future project he was writing, but he got the chance to recommend me for the role of Sota Mizuno to the production committee—and he did.

"I see. Then I guess I owe him one," I said.

"Don't worry about that. Takumi is very eager to meet you, you know? He'll be at the audition location. But just so you know, this audition is being held only because of you." Rikuya smiled.

"Only because of me?"

"That's right. You're basically already chosen, but Takumi suggested an audition to test your skills. He believes you have talent—even without ever seeing you act. That got the production committee excited."

"And what if I have no talent at all and fail?"

"Just looking at you, I'm sure you won't disappoint me. But if that happens, they'll look for another actor—so don't worry too much."

Rikuya smiled warmly.

"Alright."

"Rina, did you do everything I asked?"

"Yes, I've already set up today's schedule and given Mr. Kyo my contact. I will handle everything related to his career from now on."

"Good. Kyo, what do you think of Rina?"

"What do I think?" I looked at her. Our eyes met, and we stared at each other for a few seconds. I smiled and said, "She's very young, but she seems very competent."

"Hahaha. Well, I chose her myself. I'm sure she'll do a great job."

Rina nodded at me, and I sighed.

"Well, I didn't really want a manager yet since I just started my career, but this will help a lot. I tend to forget my commitments since my mind is always busy with many things."

"You heard him, Rina? Support him from now on."

"Yes, I will. Mr. Kyo, we'll talk more later, alright? For now, we need to go to the audition. It starts in twenty minutes." Rina urged me.

I stood up, and Rikuya said,

"Good luck."

"Thank you."

I left the Amuse Inc. building and got into the car with Rina and my mother.

A few minutes later, we arrived at a building that looked newly constructed.

"The audition is on the third floor. I won't accompany you there, but your mother will be with you, so it'll be fine."

"Alright, thank you, Rina."

"Contact me or Daiki when everything is finished."

"I will."

I got out of the car with my mother, and people immediately started looking at me.

"What is this? A celebrity?"

"He's handsome, isn't he?"

"Wow~~"

People began murmuring about me, but I didn't care.

I took a deep breath and thought:
