Chapter 9 - First Mission

Through the Jungle Vedant and Ron raced toward the mission area. Ron, who had worked there for a long time, was incredibly fast and had high stamina. Vedant, though quick on his feet, struggled to keep up.

"Hey, slow down!" Vedant begged, gasping for air.

"You're fast for someone without any training," Ron replied without stopping. "You'll be a fine addition to the team."

Ron continued at his steady pace, leaving Vedant to struggle through the dense tropical rainforest. The huge trees were so thick that barely any sunlight reached the ground. The air was heavy and crawling with insects, and strange, poisonous-looking plants grew everywhere. After a tiring struggle, they finally reached their destination.

A Monstrous Reality,The sight before them was horrifying. A pack of giant, monstrous creatures stood in a clearing. Vedant wondered why they even compared them to tapirs, but they were nothing like the peaceful, ant-eating animals he knew. These beasts were taller than a man, with sharp claws and teeth. The last creatures he'd seen at the hotel had looked like normal tapirs, but these were mutated boars, their skin covered in fresh blood.Claws and teeth coming out of each part.

"We have to subdue these? Are you serious?" Vedant cried out in disgust.

"There are about fourteen of them," Ron said calmly. "It should be an easy job for me."

Before Vedant could react, Ron rushed forward and sliced one of the creatures in half with a single, smooth motion. "One down! That's an A+ rank for you!"

Vedant was stunned. He hadn't realized Ron was an A+ rank, the second-highest rank in the bureau. He could only stand there, sickened and on the verge of vomiting, as Ron expertly cut through the monstrous creatures.

After Ron had taken down more than half the pack, the remaining beasts scattered into the forest. Ron ran after them, leaving Vedant alone in the clearing.

But they had miscalculated. Vedant wasn't alone. A creature far larger than the others emerged from behind him. Its horns were more giant than its body, and its teeth were everywhere, all covered in blood. The sight was so disgusting that Vedant's first instinct was to run.

He dodged its first charge and tried to flee, but then he remembered he wanted to prove himself. He had no weapon, and the thought of fighting the filthy beast with his bare hands was itself disgusting. He had to find a weapon, but what could he use in a forest full of nothing but trees?

Then it hit him. The trees. If he could make a tree fall, it would crush the creature. His plan was simple: lure the beast in front of a giant tree, and at the last second, dodge its attack. The beast would then crash into the tree, causing a domino effect that would bring down several other trees and bury the monster. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he also knew his quick thinking had helped him defeat a far dangerous creature before. He was ready to fight more like ready to dodge.
