BALE'S POV
Bale had been seated by his bedside, watching through the window as his brother rode off in the distance.
He felt his stomach churn uncomfortably.
He was supposed to be at his side going on this mission.
Exploring the moonstones.
He had been reading, studying the scholars, studying ancient texts about the moonstones and how they were connected to the stories of the stars and the stars themself.
He had tried to tell Aiden that the stars and moonstone were connected.
There was something deeper to unravel than they all thought.
But Aiden, as usual, had brushed him off.
Of course, he had, when he had never wanted him to come along with him in the first place.
To think that Aiden had once been interested in the stars and all their study.
To think that he had been the one to introduce him to everything he was currently interested in and not give a care about it anymore.
Act like it was all so irrelevant and useless.
