"So now what?" Taylor asks when we walk out of the bank. The lions turned their attention on us, their strange eyes following every step we made.
"Dunno…" Ivan stared back at them, but kept us moving. "What time is it?"
"It's almost six," Taylor looked at her phone. We had service again. "Is time the same here?"
"Let's find out…" I saw a couple crossing the street and decided it was worth the risk. "Excuse me?"
"Yeah?" The man put himself between me and his partner, unsure of my intentions.
"Do you have the time?"
"Oh yeah," he looked at his watch. "Ten to six."
"And that's the same as the…. Human world?" I wasn't sure what they called it.
"Yeah, it's the same." They smiled at me, recognizing that I was new to this dimensional movement. "Time doesn't start getting distorted this close to the core. Jump a few more layers before that starts happening."
"Thank you…" That's a terrifying thought. I watched the couple leave before turning to my mate and sister-in-law.
