Ivan
I've never seen this woman before.
"No, we've never met," what is she doing? She must be trying to get between Nefra and me.
"Oh, you really don't remember," the woman giggled as if I'd told the funniest joke, but no one else was laughing. "Not that I'm surprised. Every time we hooked up, you showed up intoxicated."
My soul died at those words.
Did we meet, and was I too messed up to remember?
How many nights are black holes because I can't remember them?
Too many.
"So, you've met?" Nefra's voice stayed flat, and it's worse than if she'd screamed and thrown things. It's like she's trying to force herself not to care. She'd done that before, the first night we met.
"Don't worry, D. It was just sex," Melissa cocked her head in sympathy, as if telling Nefra she understood. "Lots of carnal, wild sex. That's all. I don't bother with relationships, especially with someone so… unstable."
