Chapter 11 - The Fall of the Wei Empire

Dawn broke over A-City like a blade, sharp and unforgiving. Inside the hilltop villa, the atmosphere hummed with controlled tension. Shen Qingyi stood before the full-length mirror in the master dressing room, adjusting the collar of her tailored white blouse. The titanium bracelet Lu Beichen had given her last night gleamed on her wrist — sleek, elegant, and hiding a panic button that connected directly to him. A matching one sat on his own wrist, a silent vow that they would never be separated again.

Behind her, Lu Beichen finished buttoning his charcoal three-piece suit, his reflection dark and commanding. The kidnapping attempt yesterday had stripped away any remaining restraint in him. His eyes, usually cool and calculating, now carried a simmering storm whenever they landed on her.

"You're sure you're ready for this?" he asked, stepping behind her. His large hands settled on her shoulders, thumbs gently massaging the lingering tension from the abduction. "We can handle the press conference without you. You were drugged and tied to a chair less than twenty-four hours ago."

Shen Qingyi turned in his arms, rising on her toes to brush a kiss against his sharp jaw. "I'm not hiding, husband. They tried to break me with poison, then with ropes and threats. Today, the world sees that Shen Qingyi — Mrs. Lu — does not break. She rises. And she finishes what she starts."

A low, approving growl rumbled in his chest. He cupped her face, kissing her deeply, possessively, as if reaffirming she was real and safe. When he pulled back, his forehead rested against hers. "Then we end them together. After the conference, I spoil you properly. No more talk of war for the rest of the day. Just you, me, and whatever your heart desires."

"Deal," she whispered, her fingers tracing the line of his tie. "But make it hurt for them first."

The press conference was held at Lu Tower's grand auditorium — a deliberate show of strength. Cameras from every major network filled the room. Security was ironclad; no one entered without multiple scans. Shen Qingyi walked in on Lu Beichen's arm, head high, the white blouse paired with a crimson pencil skirt that echoed the blood-red gowns she had worn during her early victories. She looked every inch the reborn queen — elegant, radiant, and untouchable.

Whispers rippled through the crowd as they took their seats at the head table.

"Mrs. Lu looks completely composed after yesterday's kidnapping…"

"Lu Beichen's face is terrifying. Someone is about to die today."

Lu Beichen opened with a short, ice-cold statement. "Yesterday, my wife was abducted from our home by operatives linked to the Wei Consortium. The attempt failed. Wei Changfeng and several accomplices are in custody. Today, we present irrefutable evidence of their crimes — including the poisoning, the kidnapping plot, and years of systematic fraud, bribery, and involvement in the staged accident that killed Shen Qingyi's parents."

He nodded to his legal team. Screens behind them lit up with documents, bank transfers, recorded conversations, and forensic reports. The evidence was overwhelming: Wei Changfeng ordering the aconite in the tea, coordinating the warehouse abduction, and ties to the brake tampering on her parents' car. Additional files exposed how the Wei family had been systematically undermining Lu Corporation projects for over a decade.

Shen Qingyi spoke next, her voice steady and clear, carrying through the microphones. "I died once because I trusted the wrong people. In this life, I chose the right one. The Wei Consortium thought they could silence me with fear. Instead, they woke a storm. Effective immediately, all Wei-linked assets in A-City and beyond are frozen. Criminal charges have been filed for murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, and economic crimes. Any remaining Wei family members or associates who continue to resist will face the full force of the Lu empire."

The room exploded with questions.

"Mrs. Lu, how do you explain your sudden transformation from a quiet fiancée to this?"

"Are the rumors about your 'rebirth' true?"

Shen Qingyi smiled — cool, confident, and laced with warning. "Call it what you want. A wake-up call. A second chance. The point is simple: I will no longer be a victim. And with my husband beside me, no one will ever make me one again."

Lu Beichen's hand found hers under the table, squeezing once — a private anchor in the public storm.

By the end of the hour, the press conference was trending worldwide. Stocks of Wei Consortium companies crashed over 40% in minutes. Government officials, previously silent, began distancing themselves. Arrest warrants multiplied. Lu Corporation's legal team moved like a well-oiled machine, filing injunctions and seizing collateral.

Back in the Maybach on the way home, Shen Qingyi finally allowed herself to exhale. Lu Beichen pulled her into his lap, arms wrapping around her like steel.

"You were magnificent," he murmured against her hair. "But now… the war pauses. I spoil my wife."

True to his word, the rest of the day became pure indulgence.

The villa had been transformed in their absence. Fresh white roses and lilies filled every room. A private chef prepared a multi-course lunch tailored to her tastes — light yet luxurious, with every dish pre-tested. Lu Beichen fed her bites himself, his eyes never leaving her face, as if memorizing every expression.

After lunch, he carried her to the master suite. The lights were dimmed, soft music playing. He undressed her slowly, reverently, kissing every inch of skin as if erasing the memory of the ropes from yesterday. "They touched you," he said, voice rough. "No one will ever touch you again except me."

Their lovemaking was intense and healing — a blend of fierce possession and tender care. He worshipped her body with hands and mouth until she was trembling, then joined them in a deep, claiming rhythm that left them both breathless and sated. Afterward, he held her close, fingers tracing the titanium bracelet on her wrist.

"I almost lost you twice in two days," he admitted quietly. "Poison. Then abduction. Each time, I realized how empty my world would be without you. Reborn or not, Qingyi… you are my life now."

She curled tighter against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. "Then keep me spoiled and safe. Because I chose you this time — not just for revenge, but for this. For us."

He pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Always."

As evening fell, more gifts arrived — a custom diamond tiara subtle enough for daily wear but worth a small fortune, and tickets for a private hot air balloon ride over the coast the following weekend. Lu Beichen dismissed all incoming calls except emergency ones, dedicating the night entirely to her.

They dined on the terrace under strings of soft lights, the city sparkling below like conquered territory. He poured her wine, listened as she spoke about her plans for reforming Shen Group into an ethical powerhouse, and offered strategic insights without taking over.

Later, in bed, the passion reignited — slower this time, filled with whispered promises and lingering touches. Shen Qingyi rode him with quiet confidence, his hands guiding her hips as he looked up at her like she was the only star in his sky. When they collapsed together, he held her through the night, one arm locked around her waist.

The next morning brought the final blows to the Wei empire.

Lu Beichen's team reported that Wei Changfeng had crumbled in interrogation, naming additional conspirators — including a distant Lu family relative who had been feeding information. Shen Qingyi sat beside her husband in the command center, watching live feeds as raids happened simultaneously across multiple cities. Wei properties were seized. Bank accounts frozen. The once-mighty consortium was reduced to ashes in under 48 hours.

By noon, the headlines screamed victory:

"Wei Consortium Collapses Amid Criminal Scandal — Lu Beichen and Wife Deliver Decisive Justice"

"From Kidnapping Victim to Powerhouse: Mrs. Lu's Stunning Rise"

Social media exploded with admiration and envy. "#SpoiledByLu" trended alongside the scandal. Elite wives whispered in jealousy; businessmen took note — crossing Mrs. Lu meant crossing the devil himself.

In the afternoon, Lu Beichen surprised her with a spontaneous trip to a private mountain villa two hours outside the city. The drive was peaceful, his hand never leaving hers. At the villa — a luxurious retreat with floor-to-ceiling views of misty peaks — he carried her over the threshold like a bride.

"No work for three days," he declared, setting her down. "Only spoiling. Hiking if you want. Or staying in bed. Your choice, wife."

Shen Qingyi laughed, pulling him down for a kiss. "Both. But mostly the bed part."

The three days blurred into pure bliss. Morning hikes where he held her hand on rocky paths. Afternoons spent in the heated infinity pool, bodies tangled under the sun. Nights filled with slow, passionate lovemaking and deep conversations — he shared stories of his lonely rise to power; she revealed more fragments of her past life, the betrayals that had shaped her.

On the final night, under a blanket of stars on the private deck, Lu Beichen pulled her close.

"I love you, Qingyi," he said simply, the words heavy with years of waiting. "Not because you changed. Because you finally let me in. Reborn or dream or miracle — it doesn't matter. You are my wife, my queen, and I will spend every day spoiling you until you forget what pain feels like."

Tears pricked her eyes. She kissed him fiercely. "I love you too, Beichen. In both lives. This time, I choose you completely."

The kiss deepened, leading to another night of heated passion under the open sky.

When they returned to A-City, the Wei threat was effectively neutralized. Remaining loose ends would be mopped up by lawyers, but the core empire lay in ruins.

Shen Qingyi stood on the villa balcony that evening, Lu Beichen's arms around her from behind, watching the city lights.

One major chapter of revenge had closed.

But deeper shadows still lingered — whispers of even older conspiracies tied to both families.

For now, though, she allowed herself to be held, cherished, and utterly spoiled by the man who had become her everything.

The reborn wife had survived poison, abduction, and betrayal.

She had emerged not just victorious — but deeply loved.

And the CEO who once signed divorce papers without blinking now lived only to see her smile.

The next arc of their story was just beginning.
