Chapter 15 - The Crown and the Secret

The morning after the Capital Business Gala broke with soft golden light streaming through the villa's master suite windows. Shen Qingyi stirred slowly, her body deliciously sore from the night's passionate celebration. The black gown lay discarded on the floor like a fallen banner of triumph, crystals still sparkling faintly in the sunlight. Lu Beichen's arm was locked around her waist, his chest warm and solid against her back, one hand resting protectively over her stomach even in sleep.

She turned carefully in his embrace, studying his relaxed face — the sharp jaw softened by sleep, the faint scar above his brow, the dark lashes that hid those piercing eyes. In her past life, she had feared this man's coldness. Now, she craved it. Craved the way he had carried her across the gala floor, fed her from his plate, kissed her openly in front of the entire elite of A-City. Being Lu Beichen's spoiled wife wasn't just luxury. It was power, safety, and love wrapped in diamonds and steel.

Her fingers traced his jaw. His eyes opened instantly, alert and dark, then softened with that rare warmth reserved only for her.

"Morning, wife," he murmured, voice gravel-rough. He pulled her closer, rolling them so she straddled him. "You were breathtaking last night. Every jealous glance in that room only made me want to spoil you more."

Shen Qingyi leaned down, brushing her lips against his. "Then keep spoiling me. Today feels… different. Like the end of one chapter and the start of something new."

He searched her face, hands sliding up her thighs. "Then let's mark it properly."

What followed was slow, deep, and intensely intimate — a celebration of survival, victory, and the quiet trust growing between them. Lu Beichen took his time, hands and mouth worshipping her until she was trembling above him. When they finally shattered together, he held her through the aftershocks, forehead pressed to hers, whispering, "You are my everything, Qingyi. Reborn or not, you chose me. I will spend every day making sure you never regret it."

Afterward, he carried her to the shower, washing her hair with gentle fingers while steam filled the marble space. Breakfast on the terrace was lavish: fresh oysters, avocado toast with poached eggs, exotic fruits, and chilled orange juice. He fed her bites himself, eyes never leaving her face.

Halfway through the meal, Shen Qingyi felt a strange flutter low in her belly — not nausea, but something warm and new. She paused, hand instinctively resting over her stomach. Lu Beichen noticed immediately.

"What is it?" he asked, setting his fork down, concern flashing in his eyes.

She hesitated, then smiled softly. "Nothing bad. Just… a feeling. Like the universe is giving us another gift. I'll see the doctor later to be sure."

His expression shifted from concern to something deeper — hope mixed with fierce protectiveness. He reached across the table, covering her hand with his. "If it's what I think… then today becomes even more special. But first, we finish what we started with the gala. A public statement. Then I spoil you beyond measure."

The rest of the morning was dedicated to a quiet victory lap. Lu Corporation issued a polished press release recapping the successful restructuring after Lu Heng's removal, crediting "Mrs. Lu's strategic insights" for strengthening the empire. Headlines praised the power couple once again:

"Lu Beichen and Wife Cement Dominance — Internal Betrayal Crushed, Empire Stronger Than Ever"

"From Contract Marriage to Power Duo: The Spoiled Queen Who Tamed the Ice Emperor"

Shen Qingyi read the articles curled against Lu Beichen's chest on the sofa, his fingers playing with her hair. "They're calling me the Spoiled Queen now," she said with a soft laugh. "I like it."

"You earned it," he replied, kissing her temple. "And I intend to make sure the title fits perfectly."

In the afternoon, he took her to a private jewelry atelier owned by Lu Corporation. The entire store was cleared for them. Designers presented custom pieces — but Lu Beichen had already commissioned one in secret. He placed a delicate crown-like tiara in her hands: platinum and diamonds arranged in an elegant phoenix rising from flames, symbolizing her rebirth.

"This is for you," he said quietly, placing it gently on her head. "My queen. You rose from ashes. Now wear the crown."

Shen Qingyi's eyes stung with unshed tears. She rose on her toes and kissed him deeply. "Thank you, husband. For seeing me. For spoiling me. For everything."

He fastened a matching phoenix necklace around her throat and took her home, where the real spoiling continued. A private chef prepared a multi-course lunch with all her favorites. He fed her, then carried her to the indoor pool for a lazy afternoon swim. They floated together, her back against his chest, his hands resting over her stomach as if already protecting what might be growing there.

As evening approached, they visited the doctor in a discreet private clinic. The results confirmed what Shen Qingyi had felt — she was pregnant. Early stages, but healthy.

Lu Beichen's reaction was everything she could have dreamed. The Ice Emperor — the man who once signed divorce papers without blinking — went completely still, then pulled her into his arms, holding her like she was made of glass and fire at once.

"Our child," he whispered against her hair, voice thick with emotion. "You're giving me a family, Qingyi. After everything… you're giving me this."

Tears slipped down her cheeks. "In my past life, I died alone. Now I have you, and soon… us. A real family."

He kissed her then — slow, deep, and full of promise. "I will protect you both with my life. No more risks. Triple security. Everything you crave — fresh fruits flown in daily, a nursery designed by the best, my time whenever you need it. You will be the most spoiled mother in history."

Back at the villa, the celebration turned intimate and profound. Lu Beichen drew a rose-petal bath, joined her in the warm water, and made love to her with exquisite care — slow, tender, and deeply emotional. Every touch felt like a vow. "I love you," he whispered against her skin again and again. "Both of you."

Afterward, wrapped in silk robes on the terrace under the stars, he presented her with one more gift: a custom journal bound in soft leather, embossed with a phoenix. "For your thoughts. Your memories from both lives. When our child is older, we can tell them the story of how their mother rose from betrayal and built an empire with love."

Shen Qingyi curled against his side, the phoenix tiara still on her head, the necklace warm against her skin. "This is the real wow of my second life, Beichen. Not the diamonds or the revenge. It's you — choosing to spoil me, protect me, and love me even knowing my secrets."

He tilted her chin up, eyes burning with devotion. "And I will keep choosing you every single day. The spoiled wife era isn't ending, wife. It's only beginning. Our child will grow up watching their mother wear crowns and their father burn anyone who dares look at her wrong."

They spent the rest of the night talking softly — names for the baby, dreams for the future, quiet plans to slowly reveal more of her rebirth story as trust deepened. Passion flickered again, gentler this time, a celebration of new life and unbreakable bond.

As sleep claimed her in his arms, Shen Qingyi smiled into the darkness.

Arc 1 was closing.

She had taken control of Shen Group, destroyed Zhou Ming and the Wei Consortium, purged internal betrayal, and claimed her place as the most spoiled, most loved woman in A-City.

Now, with a child on the way and Lu Beichen's heart fully hers, the real story — the deeper conspiracy, the full merging of their empires, and the eternal spoiling — was just beginning.

The reborn wife had not only survived.

She had conquered.

And the Ice Emperor had melted completely, only to rise again as the most devoted husband and soon-to-be father the capital had ever seen.
