3 Days After the Blackout
Sector 1 Border & Sector 7 Safehouse
The city's atmosphere remains thick with tension. Sinclair is under internal investigation, creating a massive gap in the police structure that needs to be filled by "our people" immediately.
Ren knew that Marcel alone wasn't enough to control the police department from the inside. She needed field experts who were untainted by Ironport's corruption. Therefore, she contacted her old acquaintance from a neighboring city, Selina.
Summoning Selina
Selina was a forensic detective and tactical expert known for her rigid integrity—a trait that often made her enemies in her own city. To Ren, Selina was the perfect asset to fill a strategic vacancy under Den's supervision.
"This city needs someone who can't be bought, Selina," Ren said over an encrypted phone line. "My father (Den) has already prepared a position for you here. You will have full authority."
Selina agreed. However, there was one variable that neither Ren nor Rion had accounted for.
The Casanova Variable
When Selina arrived at the meeting point on the outskirts of Ironport, she didn't come alone. A red sportbike pulled up right behind her car. The rider removed his helmet, flashing a confident smirk and a face far too handsome for a police officer.
He was Ricky, better known by the nickname Casanova in the neighboring city's police force. Besides being Selina's boyfriend, Ricky was a master of disguise and a silver-tongued negotiator who could make even the most hardened criminals surrender through conversation alone.
"Did you really think I'd let you go to this 'Cursed City' all by yourself, babe?" Ricky teased as he hopped off his bike.
"Ricky, this is a secret mission! You were supposed to stay behind!" Selina protested, though she couldn't hide the relief in her eyes at seeing him.
Rion's Interrogation
Ren led them both to a secure location (not the main HQ). There, Rion was already waiting in the shadows, observing them through infrared lenses before finally stepping out.
"I ordered one detective, not a couple," Rion said, his voice cold and threatening. His tactical knife was already in his hand.
Ricky didn't flinch. Instead, he let out a low whistle at Rion's gear. "Whoa, easy there, friend. I'm not being paid for this, but I have intel that the central police are sending a special unit here next week. If you want Selina to stay safe, you need me to manipulate their reports."
Ren looked at Rion, signaling that Ricky's talent as a master deceiver within the force could be highly useful. "He has a natural talent for being two-faced, Rion. He can be our public face while Marcel works the archives."
Two New Pieces Join the Board
Rion sheathed his knife, though his eyes remained sharp. "If you betray us, there will be nowhere in Ironport to hide."
"I'm in because Selina's in," Ricky said, his tone suddenly turning serious. "And because I heard the 'Black Group' is building something a lot fairer than the garbage laws in this city."
And so, the team grew. **Selina** would become Den's right hand in the force as the honest detective who would steer investigations away from Nero Familia. Meanwhile, Ricky, with his charm, would be the spy among the arrogant elite police—gathering secrets while flirting information out of anyone who stood in their way.
