Chapter 4 - The Light in Fear

Episode 6 – The Light in Fear

The silence of the night stood like a heavy cover around the house.

The wind outside was wandering over the sea, the waves were hitting the shore lightly.

Centaur called the monster to his side; they walked with a silent step.

The monster was shaking.

His eyes were still dark, his heart was still full of fear.

With a small movement, he attacked the centaur. His hands and nails were sharp but uncontrollable.

Centaur took a deep breath, not retreating.

"I know... you're scared," he said slowly.

"But I'm here. I'm here every time."

The monster retreated with sobs. But at that moment there was a small change in his eyes:

• There was still panic

• But for a moment he felt safe next to the centaur

Centaur noticed this.

One step closer, he wrapped his hands around the monster's trembling hands.

"Look," he said, "the moon flowers are still waiting for the night. And we can wait too. Everything will take time, but we are together."

The monster closed his eyes. A sob rose from his throat.

There was silence for a while; then a small voice whispered:

"You... you're here again..."

Centaur smiled.

"Always. I'm here."

That night, they walked back to the seashore.

The moon was blooming in the dark, emitting small sparks of hope with their faint lights.

For the first time, the monster quietly grabbed the centaur's hand. It was a small sign of trust.

But soon after, his fear came back and he slightly retreated to harm the centaur.

Centaur took a deep breath, closed his eyes and thought:

"A little more light every time... a little more confidence..."

The monster stopped where the waves and moonlight met on the horizon.

There was a feeling in him; for the first time, he felt a spark that he could recover.

But his fear was still strong, and so he could still hurt the centaur.

That night, in the light of the sea and moon flowers, there was a small but important change in the bond of the centaur and the beast:

• The monster felt the taste of trust for the first time

• Centaur stayed patiently next to him, showing his light

• Night and moon flowers became their silent witnesses

And the centaur whispered in himself:

"Every attack, every fear... will one day turn into light. And I will be patient."
