Silence stayed in the room longer than anyone wanted.
Not uncomfortable anymore.
Just heavy with realization.
Adrian sat back, eyes moving slowly between his parents like he was seeing them for the first time.
"…So let me get this straight," he said finally.
Hannah groaned softly. "Oh no, he's doing the summary voice again."
Adrian ignored her.
"You," he said, looking at Elias, "are basically a Rank Two human walking contradiction who can escape Dracula but not beat him."
Elias nodded once.
Adrian turned to Rose.
"And you," he continued, "are a Viscount illegitimate daughter who somehow became politically important enough to stop factions from chasing him."
Rose gave a small, calm nod.
Adrian leaned back slightly.
"…And together you two just quietly became a disaster-level couple the world didn't notice."
Kael muttered, "That's one way to put it."
Selene didn't speak, but her eyes stayed fixed on the couple with new understanding.
Lirael folded her arms slightly.
Niamh remained quiet, thoughtful.
Adrian exhaled slowly.
"…And you both decided the best way to raise a kid in all that was to lie about literally everything."
Rose winced slightly.
Elias didn't react.
That was his answer.
Adrian shook his head once.
"…I'm not even mad," he said quietly. "I'm just impressed at the level of commitment to secrecy."
Hannah smirked. "That's our family motto."
"No," Adrian said immediately. "That's *your* hobby."
A faint pause passed.
Then Adrian stood up.
Not aggressively.
Just… moving.
Everyone's attention shifted instantly.
Kael straightened slightly.
Selene's shadows stirred.
Lirael's eyes narrowed.
Niamh watched carefully.
Elias remained still.
Adrian walked toward the window.
Outside, the estate grounds stretched into the night—quiet, controlled, deceptively peaceful.
"…So what I don't understand," Adrian said, "is how we stayed hidden for this long."
Kael answered first.
"Because your father made sure of it," he said.
Adrian glanced back slightly. "By doing what? Threatening everyone?"
Elias spoke calmly.
"By removing attention."
A pause.
Adrian frowned. "That sounds vague."
Elias continued.
"Those who noticed too early," he said, "stopped noticing anything at all."
Silence.
That was enough explanation.
Adrian looked back out the window.
"…So the world wasn't ignoring us," he said quietly. "It was avoiding us."
Rose nodded slightly.
"Yes."
Adrian exhaled slowly.
"…That's worse."
Hannah leaned back. "It worked though."
Kael added, "Until now."
A pause.
Adrian turned slightly.
"…Right," he said. "Until me."
No one disagreed.
That silence confirmed it.
Adrian turned fully now.
"So I'm the reason everything is starting to move again."
Selene spoke softly. "You are a trigger point."
Lirael added, "A convergence anchor."
Niamh's voice was gentle. "A disruption to long-standing balance."
Kael shrugged slightly. "Or just unlucky timing."
Adrian gave him a look. "That one sounded nicer. Stick with that."
Kael smirked faintly. "No."
Elias finally stood.
That alone made the room tighten again.
He walked slowly toward Adrian.
Not threatening.
But heavy.
When he stopped, he stood just a step away.
"…You are not the cause," Elias said.
Adrian frowned slightly. "Feels like I am."
Elias shook his head once.
"You are the *signal*," he said.
Silence.
Adrian narrowed his eyes slightly. "Explain that."
Elias continued.
"When something old is about to return," he said, "it sends pressure through the world."
A pause.
"You are that pressure becoming visible."
Adrian stared at him.
"…So I'm not the problem," he said slowly.
"No," Elias replied.
"You're the announcement."
Silence.
That hit differently.
Not comforting.
Not terrifying.
Just… final.
Adrian exhaled.
"…That's a terrible job title."
Hannah snorted. "Sounds important though."
Adrian ignored her.
He looked at Elias.
"So what now?"
Elias answered without hesitation.
"Now the world adjusts to you."
A pause.
Then he added—
"And those who cannot adjust will attempt to remove you."
Silence.
Kael muttered, "That part never changes."
Adrian nodded slowly.
"…Yeah," he said quietly.
Then he looked around the room.
At his father.
His mother.
The women bound to him through unknown forces.
The agent assigned to watch him.
And his sister, who looked like she found all of it mildly entertaining.
"…Good," Adrian said.
Everyone paused.
Adrian continued.
"Because I'm tired of being hidden."
A pause.
Then his expression sharpened slightly.
"So let them come."
Silence.
Heavy.
Absolute.
Elias studied him for a long moment.
Then—
He nodded once.
Not approval.
Not approval of the danger.
But acknowledgment of the decision.
"…Then you will need to be ready," Elias said.
Adrian smirked faintly.
"I already am."
And for the first time since everything began—
The family didn't correct him.
