(A year and a bit later)
It was getting close to my birthday and the stress was getting to me. While my progress with my goals was good, my deadline was approaching with no good ideas either than running away coming to mind. While I wasn't super attached to anything here the stability and safety was comforting in what seems to be a rather dark world. And sister Avaline was the closest thing I had to family was here but I know that once she saw what was apart of me things would change.
But who knows it might even be good for me I was getting too cozy for my own good. The prospect on the outside were greater than anything that could happen here so it wasn't a debate in the end. I had a good week or two before I had to go so I decided to cramp it full of good memories to fuel the next few years of grime.

(1.5 weeks later)
I knew what I had to do and I wasn't going to get in my own way, I left a note on my bed and quickly enacted my genius escape plan...
I walked out the front door... I know it isn't flashy or anything but was it supposed to be? I left a monastery based in the slums and no building in the slums had more than a lock, even then those were the fancy houses. Now was the time to find something to do for the next few hours till the sun rose. I was in the old town district on the edge of the city, nothing much happened here aside from usual sad stuff. My main goal is finding the adventurers guild since it was the only way I could work on my own terms with little control but It wouldn't open till daylight struck and I didn't have anywhere to sleep
(I made a mistake and didn't save the map properly so I'm making a new map, it won't have an affect on the story since it was all improvised so far.)
I ended up walking for hours exploring my new surroundings, I didn't think about it while was living there but I wasn't really living. The flair of the unknown and the risk that was always there in the real world was a spice I needed Desperately. I ended up In the commercial district called Blackbloom Well where the guild was cramped between many shops, It was both business and security so it made sense despite the funky look of it . As I contemplated what to do I noticed a woman was fumbling through a comically large ring of keys by the doors, she was wearing a uniform so I knew she was here for work.
"Excuse me, Miss do you work for the guild?"
I approached her and asked for her occupation already knowing the answer.
The woman turned and looked down at me, she was startled for only a second before seeing my youthful appearance.
"I do work for it, do you like adventurers?"
she went along with the conversation assuming a was apart of the many middle class kids dreaming of glorious battles over great treasures.
"I do... can I join? I don't have anywhere else to go.
pulling the orphan card was my only bet to get in early and boost my odds of being accepted, she replied in the manner I hoped pity.
"I-I see well I don't know what I can do but you can come in with me if you want?"
I accepted in an instant and was brought into the building, It was the classic design of a bar, front desk for varying reasons, the board for commissions and a second floor for staff and executives. I was brought to the bar where she gave me a glass of water and asked about my situation. I tweaked my story a little from reality, changing my escape plan to a sob story of discrimination of demons.
Outside of most churches and monasteries demons weren't villanized like our demons, sure they were sought after for their exotic features compared to humans but they weren't prosecuted like a certain 13% of the population. here they were major populations in most countries, even the rulers of northern ones like the kingdom of Damateroia. devils were a different story but they were mostly extinct outside of the ancient ones, scattered across the continent in dungeons and other nooks and crannies.
She gobbled the story up and immediately felt worse, she started patting my head trying to make the mood a little lighter . Once I was finished my water and she was done asking me question she led me towards one of the front desk.
"One of the requirements to join the guild is to have your stats checked."
she pulled out a tablet as she finished the last word, she placed the tablet in front of me waiting for me to activate it. Reading about it many times I knew how to use it, I placed my hand on it and let my mana seep through it.

Her jaw went slack at the information it wasn't within the realm of expectation, she did a double take before looking at me. She didn't say anything clearly she tried to delay my joining by using my stats but she didn't know what to do now.
"Ummm miss I read that stats for little kids are usually in the single digits, are mine good?"
I asked, only silence filled the hall as she went through all her options. After tens of seconds she decided what she would do.
"Lets wait for the Guildmaster to come in, He'll be here soon anyways."
She declared as she walked around the front desk, grabbing my hand as she marched up towards the guild masters office. sure it was a cop-out but I didn't blame her kids regardless of talent were usually barred from joining due to the risk, no guild wants dead kids on their records. As she tried to make small talk with me the door swung open as a man with a stubby stature walked into the room.
"Ah Mr. Graves you're finally here."
she got up and did a curt bow before beckoning him to sit where she was seconds ago, After a couple minutes of whispered conversations I was finally included.
"*clears throat* Well Lief I hear you want to join the guild, but you must know we don't like to recruit people so young, is there anyway I can convince you to come back at a later year?"
Mr. Grave's blunt answer wasn't surprising but it was annoying nonetheless, I had to go extreme with my response.
"If I can't join now Ill probably just go out on my own, I have nothing to lose anyways."
He clearly wasn't expecting a kid to clap back like that, it took more than a few seconds before he responded.
"Well it's clear that you wont back down so I'll you join on one condition. You can't take missions that go out of the city, this means only requests under F rank understood?"
I readily agreed to these terms it was what I was expecting in the end so it wasn't a let down. Afterwords we spent the remainder of the hour filing everything I could which was was a pain and. Once we were done, I was given my identification card and They quickly sent me out to the board to go pick my first request.
(Inside the office)
"that kid.... what the hell is he?"
Mr Graves had a hand on his forehead, his eyes were closed he couldn't contemplate what he saw.
"I didn't wait for you without reason everything about him is extraordinary."
Lynette said in response but silence followed as the two had no clue how to manage the new headache.
