His question caught me off guard. He did not even tell me he liked me or anything. What if he was just some mere fuck boy who sticks his dick in any hole he can attain. It didn't sound like it though, it didn't sound like he only wanted me for sex. He had a line of women reaching out to him probably ready to offer sex at any time.
I knew the sound of his voice far too well. The words constructed last minute couldn't have been planned. The look on his face couldn't have been a facade to lure me in. I know I am bad at character judgment but he sounded too desperate to be just mere lust.
I could give him a chance, confirm if my heart was as loose as I thought it to be. I'd get to know more about myself in a way. Besides that maybe I'll get over Saint. He's going to be married to Esmeralda in 4 months, he'll forget all about me and he'll have his happily ever after. I could create my own happiness.
Maybe God brought this Angelo guy into my life to help me out. But he could destroy me as well if he pleased. I looked at him, taking in his appearance. He wasn't bad looking at all. In fact maybe I could say he looked far better than Saint himself but maybe that's because of the light skin. He did indeed have beautiful skin.
I think he'd make a good boyfriend I guess. Giving him a chance wouldn't hurt unless he
decided to use his wealth against me. But he couldn't use his wealth against me could he. Mrs Evelynne is wealthier than him which means I could ask her for help if things went north. What's the guarantee that Evelynne would help me. She asked me to be friends with me so isn't that enough guarantee. To top it all up I work for her. I'm one of the victims she saved and I don't think she'd let us be in that sort of danger. She cares for us that's for sure.
Dating him would be good I guess. He has the looks, he looks like a god person. I guess it's final then. I'll give him a chance. The car slowed down in front of my flat and Angelo finally looked at me and smiled. The smile though was clearly forced, the sadness in his eyes was unbearable.
Evadne, "I'll be your girlfriend."
His brows are knitted together, confused as if he was processing my words.
"If you didn't hear me I said I'll be your girlfriend. I'll give you a chance."
Angelo, "really?"
"yes."
This time he smiled genuinely and I couldn't help but notice how beautiful his smile was. His teeth were not perfectly aligned but it was adorable. He had two vampire-like teeth and that made him look even more adorable. He looked so adorable. This could actually work out.
Angelo, "can I kiss you?"
I bit my lip and nodded. He cupped my face on his hands and leaned in for a kiss. The kiss was slow, savored and sweet. He tasted a bit like strawberry. I let him have whatever access he needed and my body was a traitorous monster aching for him already, someone I'd just dated today.His hand rested on my breast and rubbed it smoothly in a rhythmic motion. I swallowed down the moan that wanted to come out without my consent. He kept teasing my breast while his other hand was still nestled beneath my chin. The kiss turned from gentle and slow to a hungry one. I tried to follow his lead but who am I kidding he was probably far more experienced than I was.
He broke the kiss and rested his forehead on mine. I closed my eyes and breathed in and out until my breath became steady. Angelo created a little distance when I opened my eyes and smiled at me. His genuine smile and I think his smile would be the reason why I would fall in love with him. This relationship could actually work.
"You're so beautiful princess."
"You have a cute smile, you're beautiful too."
"I love you. "
I blinked in disbelief. He told me that I didn't have to respond to that or force myself to love him and that I could take as much time as I needed. His car drove off when I was in the entrance leading to the elevator and stairs. I took the stairs because I didn't really like the elevator much nor did I use it when I was alone.
When I got to the fifth floor I grinned from ear to ear excited to tell all my friends about my new relationship. My best friend would definitely be mad, or rather she wouldn't be interested in knowing, the very way she wasn't interested in my life ever since I came back from the underworld, she'd been good but I knew I had lost her along the way.
The title of best friend was just a title for the sake of our 3 year old friendship. I doubt she still wanted to keep me. Either way I'd just tell my cousin, Payal about him and I'll tell Laila too. As for Alex I think it would be best if Angelo told him about us himself. I blinked three times when I realized I'd just been standing near the stairs like a fool all along.
I hit my head slightly and laughed to myself before heading for the passage to my door but before I could even take a step forward I saw Laila frantically trying to lock the door wearing only a pair of pajamas and slippers. Where was she going in such a hurry? When she turned I saw she wasn't wearing her makeup like always and that made me want to hug her.
She'd finally come out of our apartment without makeup. She looked relieved when she saw me and ran to me. Before I could process what would happen next she hugged me tightly. I pat her back, taken aback by the sudden show of emotion. Actually she was one to show emotion. I guess I was still getting used to this sweet side of hers.
Laila, "ooh my god Eva! 10 whole hours girl, I thought you were kidnapped and you weren't answering my messages. I didn't want to call because if you were actually kidnapped the
kidnappers would take your only means of communication before I could find you. Girl don't scare me like that. "
It felt good coming back home to someone worried about you, caring enough to even try and go look for you. She looked at my lips then gave me a questioning look.
Laila, "your lips are swollen, why?"
I couldn't stop myself from smiling and I buried my face in my palms.
Laila, "are you blushing? Ooh my god Eva you're blushing. Evadne! Evadne tell me, why are you blushing?"
"Hey, you're making noise, some of us are trying to sleep. Fuck!"The grumpy old lady who lived at the door near the stairs yelled at us. We bowed our heads and we folded our hands in an apologetic manner. Laila pulled me by my arm and quickly unlocked the door then she threw me into the house then locked the door. She turned to me and crossed her arms over her chest, tapping her foot impatiently.
"relax Laila. I'll tell you what happened, let's sit down first."
She didn't seem like she wanted to budge or to sit down.
"So you know I had gone to my boss' house to tell her that I didn't want to work under her son anymore and then because I was angry it had taken me 3 to 4 hours to get to that mansion and then I got a bit stuck when I had to come home and I asked Alexander to come get me and he said he couldn't so he sent his brother for me and his brother bought me food and stuff and along the car ride he asked me to be my boyfriend and then I agreed and he kissed me after dropping me off. "
I smiled, half nervous, half amused by the way she was standing.
Laila, "so that hot close friend of yours has a brother."
"twin brother in fact. They look like duplicates, carbon copies I tell you."
Laila, "I don't want the summarized version."
She smiled at me mischievously and wiggled her brows in a playful manner.
Laila, "you have to tell me everything from A-Z. How the meeting with the mother of your boss went, how each event went down even how you got to a place that was so far away with only a skateboard."
She led me to the living room and let me sit on the couch, then she turned on the TV and went to Netflix. She kept giving me the 'juicy news sing song look' when she came from the kitchen with different kinds of foods. There was a full cake, chips, tennis biscuits, two cans of energy drink and a bucket of ice cream. I wanted to ask where she gets money for all these but I have a feeling tonight wasn't my night to question her.
She finally threw herself on the couch and took the bucket of ice cream and placed it on her lap then her attention was on me. The smile she had on her face was screaming and tell me everything girl so I told her each and every event in detail.
