Clarence was running late and if he didn't make it on time today this whole operation would be ruined and I couldn't afford to fuck this up. Everyone was an important asset in these operations, even Clarence although he didn't seem to take my organization seriously. Elena was sprawled on the couch in the living room studying the security footage of Xayan's lair trying to find security breaches.
Alexander was focused on his laptop, probably trying to hack into their system. Ivan was in our bedroom planning a clean traceless murder. I've been looking forward to killing Xayan but I couldn't just kill him for no reason but now I have one. Rumors had it that Xayan molested teenage girls luring them in with his looks and wealth.
Apparently he kept the girls in a dungeon and they served as sex workers to his men. Although Ivan is good with killing and destroying evidence, Clarence was the best killer we had in our team. He handled multiple murder better than us.
We needed a plan and I need that plan to be set today. The latest I could complete this mission is after midnight tomorrow.
"I'm sorry I'm late mom."
I glared at him and he shot me an apologetic look.
"EZ is not a joke Clarence. You can't show up an hour late all the time."
"Relax, mom. We've never failed and it won't happen. I was caught up in a pile of work and I lost track of time."
"Clarence, just because your murder and rescue skills are the best we have , it doesn't mean I can't kick you out. Your ignorance costs a lot. The one hour you take delaying these meetings is an hour of an innocent girl's misery."
" Chill Lyn, he's just a kid."
I looked at my son, allowing my expression to soften. He would have never been such a boy if that had not happened. If i had protected him properly, if i had found him at the earliest he would have had to endure that. He rolled his eyes at me probably because he noticed the look on my face.
"You did the best you could mom. Let's get to it shall we."
We went to the meeting room. Elena brought forward a blueprint of Xayan's main building. She explained the security routine which sounded almost impossible to infiltrate but then she explained that at 9pm sharp the main guards responsible for CCTV footage took their break for their turn with the teenage girls and that was the only time we could sneak past the walls undetected. That was the perfect moment for Alexander to hack into their security system and temper with the images.
The dungeons would be locked for 10 minutes after every session with the guards, the best time to take them was a few minutes before midnight. Xayan slept immediately when the clock hit 11;55, that would be the perfect time to kill him and ensure that his men saw his body. The temporary distraction would make them distracted, they'll be too panicked to think of mere prostitutes, their focus will be on 3 main things;
1. Getting treatment for Xayan2. Protecting his assets 3. Taking over his position
Thoughts of mere prostitutes will flee their minds and that's the perfect time to get them out. The best route for escape is the secret passage in Xayan's mansion, only 2 of his best men know about it. It leads to the forest and we can use that route to escape safely. This operation would require 30 minutes max and a second more than that could put us in danger.
Clarence would be responsible for taking down the guards who get in our way, Ivan is
responsible for killing Xayan and ensuring that his body is found, Alexander is responsible for hacking into the system, Elena and I will handle the rescue of the girls.
Evelynne," we have only 30 minutes to complete this rescue, maximum one hour to get them into safety to the private island. Alex, I need you to destroy any digital footprints of these girls' existence. Saint, I need you to destroy any evidence, find any mistake we make and ensure it's destroyed. Elena you will assign the girls their new lives, the rest is yet to be fixed. Remember they're just teenagers, we can't let them go back to their families. It's always risky so its up to us to ensure they are safe, healing, happy and healthy."
I dismissed the meeting. Elena and I went to the kitchen. She made me a cup of coffee as well as herself and we sat in the garden. The garden was peaceful. It had a variety of flowers, mostly the rare flowers like the skeleton sunflower.
Elena," you know it wasn't your fault right."
"It was my duty to protect him and I failed."
Elena, "Lyn. It was compulsory. He had to go for training. Without it he wouldn't survive in this world. You've got tons of enemies Lyn. Your mother built such an empire that anyone would like to get their hands on it. Evanora may have been a bad woman but one thing is for sure, her evil deeds are the reason why we were able to fund EZ. "
Evelynne, "he was only 10 years old."
Elena, "he could have been dead. He was your weakest link so he needed to be strong enough to protect himself from your enemies."
Evelynne, "if I stay here with you I won't survive long enough for tomorrow's operation."
