Cassy walked through the office like she always had, composed and focused but there was something new in the way people looked at her. Not curiosity, not doubt but respect because she hadn't hidden.

Caleb moved through his responsibilities the same way decisive and ontrolled but lighter because for once he wasn't carrying something unspoken alongside everything else. Caleb stepped in behind her no hesitation and no pause. His presence naturally expected.
"…You're still working," he said softly.
Cassy smiled faintly. "…Habit." A pause. "But I'm getting better at stopping."
Caleb stepped closer standing beside her. "Good." A beat. "Because we're going to need that."
She turned slightly. "…For what?"
He met her gaze. "For everything that comes next."
And this time that didn't sound like pressure. It sounded like possibility.
Cassy exhaled softly. "…That doesn't scare me anymore."
Caleb's expression softened. "It never should've." A pause. "Not with me."
That grounded her because this wasn't uncertainty anymore. This was a future they were stepping into together not carefully, not conditionally but fully.
Her hand found his effortlessly natural no hesitation.
"…We're really doing this," she said quietly.
Caleb nodded. "We already are."

He lifted her hand slightly pressing a soft kiss against her knuckles no rush, no urgency just… intention.

"…We're going to be okay," she said not as a question as a truth.
Caleb didn't hesitate. "We're going to be more than okay." A pause. "We're going to be everything we couldn't be before."
That lingered because it wasn't just hope, it was certainty built from everything they had already survived. Everything they had already chosen together. The city lights stretched out in front of them endlessly like the future they were finally stepping into without hesitation, without limits.
