Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Primal Rage

Brilliant blue electricity erupted from the muzzle of the Tesla Cannon, crawling all over Abomination's body.

Abomination immediately felt an itchy, tingling sensation across his skin. "You stinking ape! You actually dared to zap me?!"

He leaped forward with explosive force, smashing through the wall and landing on the street below. He crushed a Jeep underfoot, then glared around with a savage expression and roared, "Hulk! Get out here!"

The surrounding soldiers and police officers panicked at the sudden appearance of the monster. They raised their guns and opened fire, but the bullets had no effect—only enraging him further.

Abomination charged madly toward the soldiers and cops. With a casual swing of his massive hand, several men were sent flying. When he stomped his foot, the ground cracked open with deep fissures.

Ronin jumped down as well. He noticed his jumping power had increased significantly—being a gorilla had its perks.

He leaped over, raised the Tesla Cannon, and unleashed another barrage of electricity on Abomination. This bought the soldiers and police a brief moment to catch their breath.

"Sir, requesting backup! There's a huge monster here—it looks like the Hulk!" one soldier shouted into his radio.

In the helicopter overhead, General Ross frowned and glanced at Banner. "Impossible. Calm down first. Where are you?"

"121st Street and North Broadway intersection."

Upon hearing the reply, General Ross immediately ordered the pilot to turn around.

Banner asked in a low voice, "Why are we going back?"

No answer came. General Ross continued contacting the soldiers on the ground. "Give me visual."

The monitor displayed a scene of utter chaos. Civilians were fleeing in panic.

In the distance, a colossal figure was rampaging wildly. Vehicles and buildings were smashed beyond recognition, and ordinary citizens were caught in the destruction. Every swing of Abomination's hand claimed several lives.

The soldiers and police fought back, but their attacks were useless. They couldn't stop the monster at all.

It was a complete disaster zone!

Banner took one look and immediately stood up. He vaguely saw a creature even more muscular than the Hulk and instantly realized how serious the situation had become.

"What is that? One of your experiments?" Banner demanded.

Betty stared at her father in shock. "Oh my God! What have you done?!"

The image of Abomination grew closer on the screen. General Ross roared, "Retreat immediately!"

The soldiers filming the scene began reversing their vehicles, but Abomination charged forward on foot. He lifted a sedan and hurled it at them while bellowing, "Give me a stronger opponent! Hulk!"

The feed went blurry after that.

The communications soldier in the helicopter looked at General Ross. "Sir?"

General Ross didn't know what to do either. He could only shake his head. "Order all available forces to Harlem."

"Let me go. You have to let me go!"

Banner knew that retreating would only cause greater losses. Every second of delay meant more deaths. Only the Hulk could stop that monster.

Betty grabbed his hand anxiously. "What are you saying? Do you think you can control it?"

Banner felt like his head was about to explode. "It's not about control. It's about using it."

"What if you can't?" General Ross asked.

"This thing is something we created. All of us. We can't let innocent people suffer because of it."

Banner looked at General Ross, then at Betty.

After two seconds of silence, General Ross ordered, "Land near it."

"No! Stay in the air and open the rear hatch!" Banner said.

General Ross nodded.

"This guy is ridiculously strong, and his defense is off the charts."

Ronin shook his head. He had taken a kick from Abomination earlier and was still a bit rattled. By now, Abomination had already run quite far ahead.

He would have to use that.

He activated the jetpack on his back and shot into the air. Two pale purple trails of flame streaked across the sky as he descended right in front of Abomination.

The massive impact from the landing made the unstoppable Abomination stagger backward.

The soldiers, police officers, and civilians all stared in disbelief at the giant gorilla that had dropped from the sky. Is that… Winston?

They didn't have time to marvel, though. They kept running forward, occasionally glancing back.

"You stinking ape! If you dare block me again, I'll tear you to pieces!" Abomination stabilized himself and glared at Ronin with murderous intent.

"Don't you dare piss me off!"

Ronin raised the Tesla Cannon and unleashed another dazzling stream of electricity.

Rage meter: 90%!

The electricity couldn't really hurt Abomination, but it was excellent for building rage.

Attacks could build rage. Taking hits could build rage too.

At that moment, Abomination threw a powerful right hook that smashed into Ronin's face, twisting his jaw.

Rage meter: 100%!

Ronin stowed the Tesla Cannon on his back, spread his arms wide, and let out a ferocious roar at Abomination. Golden lightning flashed in his eyes. His gray fur instantly turned a dark red like the fires of hell, and golden electric arcs crackled all over his body.

Primal Rage activated!

His entire body surged with power, as if a blazing fire was burning in his chest.

Abomination swung another punch. Ronin casually raised his thick right arm to block it, then slammed his left fist forward, deforming Abomination's head with the impact.

Abomination was momentarily stunned. How did this stinking ape suddenly become so savage? His strength is actually greater than mine!

Ronin lunged forward, wrapped his legs around Abomination, pinned him to the ground, and began grinding him against the pavement. He grabbed a nearby car with one hand and smashed it repeatedly into Abomination's head.

The civilians who had been fleeing suddenly skidded to a stop. Something heavy had just crashed down, creating a deep crater in the ground.

Moments later, the Hulk crawled out of the pit, scaring them into running around it.

Hulk shook off the debris on his body. Seeing a big brute ahead, he didn't think twice—he picked up a car and hurled it.

Ronin felt something smash into him. It didn't really hurt, but getting hit in the head was still annoying. Who the hell is this reckless idiot?

In that brief moment of distraction, Abomination kicked hard and sent Ronin flying.

Ronin crashed into something behind him. He turned around. Damn it… it's the Hulk.

There's nothing scarier than a god-like opponent… except a pig-like teammate!

Hulk glared at him menacingly and raised a fist, ready to punch. Just as Ronin wondered whether he should fight back, Abomination suddenly lunged forward and sent Hulk flying with a single punch.

What the… who exactly is on whose side here?

"Hulk! You finally showed up!" Abomination looked somewhat excited.

After questioning his life choices for a moment, Ronin charged in again, swinging his fists wildly and trading blows with Abomination.

Hulk got back up, glanced at Abomination, then at Winston, looking a bit confused. But he still remembered the image of Abomination from earlier, so he prioritized taking down the monster first!

He leaped forward and joined the beatdown on Abomination.

Ronin and Hulk pinned Abomination to the ground, raining punches down on him—one after another. It was an absolute frenzy.

After landing over a hundred punches, Abomination's face was completely deformed.

Abomination felt utterly miserable inside. No matter how strong his defense was, he couldn't withstand a beating from these two. Their power was simply on another level…
