Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: My Name Is the Thunder God King

"Rumors continue to spread about a fierce battle involving the military and an unknown enemy on the campus of Culver University. Two sophomores witnessed the entire incident."

The camera cut from the news anchor to the two college students.

"That thing was huge, like a green giant!" said a chubby guy in a blue T-shirt, gesturing wildly with his hands.

The footage shot by the students appeared on screen. The camera shook slightly amid the chaos—soldiers scrambling, vehicles billowing black smoke.

The shot returned to the anchor. "One of the students is a campus reporter. He recorded the scene with his phone. A sudden thunderstorm hit the national forest, delaying the search for the mysterious green giant."

Things were moving much faster than Ronin had expected.

Next, Banner and Betty would head to Upper New York to find Mr. Blue. Banner would be captured by General Ross, and Blonsky would threaten Mr. Blue into injecting him with Banner's blood, giving birth to Abomination.

After that, the epic showdown between Hulk and Abomination would erupt.

Upper New York included the bustling districts of Manhattan. Thinking about that, Ronin couldn't sit still. He had to do something. In a fight between Hulk and Abomination, innocent civilians always suffered the most. More importantly, he couldn't let those two giants destroy his Overwatch building.

It was already afternoon, close to evening. He wasn't sure if he could make it in time, but he had to try.

Before leaving, he called Lucy and told her to let the company staff leave early. If they had nothing urgent, they should stay home instead of going out. Home was still safer than being outside.

But where exactly was Mr. Blue?

The movie never mentioned his exact location—or maybe Ronin had forgotten it. Since Mr. Blue was a well-known doctor, there should be information about him online.

He Googled "Samuel Sterns" and sure enough, an entry popped up. After reading through the details, Ronin grabbed the Soldier: 76 armor case that Tony had rebuilt and drove off alone to his destination.

This trip was far too dangerous. He could protect himself, but he couldn't guarantee the safety of others.

The distance wasn't far, but as he drove, the sky gradually darkened. The darker it got, the more uneasy he felt.

Before he even reached the destination, he saw the road ahead completely blocked by armored Jeeps. Police lights flashed everywhere.

The local police were assisting the military in capturing Banner while also evacuating civilians and keeping people away from the area.

Ronin slapped his forehead. Looked like he was a step too late.

Still, he had to try his best. What if Blonsky hadn't gone inside yet?

He parked the car off to the side, slid his thumbs across the armor case, and watched the glowing blue lines light up. With a crisp click, the case opened.

Good thing he had asked Tony how to open it—otherwise it would have been useless.

He put on the uniform and transformed into Soldier: 76 at the same time. With Iron Man-level defense combined with Soldier: 76's speed and stamina, charging through shouldn't be too hard.

With that thought, Ronin charged forward like a runaway stallion, head tucked low.

When he appeared in the police's line of sight, their eyes widened. What the hell were they seeing? Soldier: 76?

Even so, Soldier: 76 couldn't just barge in for no reason. This was an extremely critical situation—no room for carelessness.

"I'll count to three. If you don't stop, we will open fire!" The officers raised their pistols.

"Three!"

"Two!"

"One!"

Bang bang bang!

The bullets hit Ronin like they had struck steel plating, leaving the officers completely dumbfounded.

"What the hell? Is this Soldier: 76 or Iron Man? Or some weird combination of both?"

After breaking through the outer police cordon, Ronin reached the interior area, only to see two soldiers carrying the unconscious Banner out.

"Oh no!"

According to the plot, Blonsky should be threatening Mr. Blue right now.

The soldiers froze for two seconds. Even General Ross looked stunned. How had Soldier: 76 shown up here? That was the most perfect super-soldier in his memory!

The "Super Soldier" project had been inspired by Soldier: 76. As long as they could develop a serum that enhanced the human body, he could build an iron-blooded army. After that, General Ross's thunderous reputation would echo across the world.

He wasn't far from that goal now!

"Stop him!" General Ross barked the order.

The soldiers immediately surrounded Ronin, raising their guns but not firing—they only wanted to restrict his movement.

"Sorry about this!"

Ronin charged like a wild bull, smashing straight through. Several soldiers were knocked flying.

He rushed upstairs to Mr. Blue's lab.

"Oh my God!"

He was still one step too late. Mr. Blue lay on the ground with blood streaming from his head. Standing in front of him was Abomination—an incredibly ugly, hulking brute.

Spikes protruded from his spine, thick bones visible across his chest. He looked even more muscular than Hulk, and damn it, he was bald too.

Ronin stood in front of Abomination. At eye level, he could only see between the monster's legs.

Without hesitation, he raised his pulse rifle and fired right at that spot. He had no idea if it was a weak point, but it was worth a try.

Abomination howled in pain, one hand covering his crotch while the other formed a massive fist and swung down at Ronin. Ronin rolled aside, and the floor was smashed through with a single punch.

"Soldier: 76, let's see who the real super-soldier is!"

Ronin moved constantly while unleashing a barrage of pulse fire. As he shot, he taunted, "You ugly little freak, you think you're a soldier? Go take a piss and look at yourself in the reflection—you're a damn mess!"

The energy bullets left clear blue holes in Abomination's body, but they healed almost instantly.

Soldier: 76 really couldn't handle Abomination. It looked like he had to borrow Winston's power.

General Ross's men chased up after them. They stared dumbfounded at Soldier: 76, then looked at the monster with utter terror.

"Only the strong have the right to speak. The weak have none!"

Enraged, Abomination lifted one massive foot and stomped down toward Ronin.

"Get out of here! This isn't something you can handle!"

Ronin shouted back at them, then rolled away from the stomp. The shockwave still rattled him badly—this guy's strength was insane.

"As soldiers, we never retreat! Boys, hit him with everything you've got!"

Even though they had no idea what was going on, one thing was clear: Soldier: 76 wouldn't hurt them, but this monster definitely would!

Countless bullets poured onto Abomination. If the energy rounds could at least sting him, these regular bullets felt like nothing more than a tickle.

"Go to hell, all of you!"

Abomination swung a devastating punch that blotted out the sky. The soldiers' eyes widened in despair—they couldn't dodge it.

But at that exact moment, something massive blocked the punch in front of them. Everything went dark.

"Game time is over!"

Ronin had transformed into Winston. His left hand firmly caught Abomination's fist.

"Get out of here! Don't make meaningless sacrifices!" Ronin shouted back at the soldiers.

Seeing the giant gorilla with black-rimmed glasses, the soldiers were stunned. They muttered, "Winston…"

Then they quickly retreated downstairs. A battle of this level was not something ordinary soldiers could participate in. They needed to report to their superiors for support.

Abomination paused for a second, staring at the big ape wearing glasses in front of him. In a hoarse voice, he growled, "Who the hell are you?!"

Ronin's body shifted back slightly. Even Winston's strength wasn't enough to match Abomination.

"My name… is the Thunder God King!"

Ronin raised his right hand, lifting the Tesla Cannon. He cranked the amperage to maximum, pulled the trigger, and…

Zzzzzzzzz…
