Chapter 7 - Adelaide

Pain is a driver.

When someone is in pain, they sometimes do drastic measures, or unexpected decisions that they will regret later on in life.

But it also makes someone tougher, stronger, and even better than their yesterday's self.

But Pain in the game is different.

It was built for them to understand that the realism of this game is too much.

Suffocation washed over him as the garbages started to pile over him.

But that's not all.

The smell of ammonia, methane and carbon dioxide is hitting his lungs like trucks trying to scrape the passageways.

His mind is like a notice, blaring with red lights, as it doesn't know what it was gonna do.

The energies from Kruger and Armon is making his weak body feel like it is being grounded down to dust.

1.8 APH is pretty damn devastating, and it still has a cap, so he can still move, but experiencing this kind of pain is not new to him; still, he is not the superhuman he was right now.

APH, or Affliction Per Harm, is capped at 90%, which is 1.8, and the lowest one is 0.7, which is 35%.

Pain receptors doesn't stop, but they also give a way to a more realistic gameplay.

Even the smallest sounds can be heard, and even the smallest vibrations, is felt.

"Meow?"

"BOOM!"

Two energies exploded.

The place where Zaon is hiding began to melt down, and the trash is burning, releasing the chemicals it has not yet released, making the experience worse for him.

It was only a matter of time before the sack covering him starts to also melt, so he closed his eyes, buried himself better, for him not to be discovered.

And yet, silence followed the said explosion of energies.

Zaon waited for a few moments, but nothing happened.

He waited, and waited, but only silence was there to meet.

Curiosity got ahold of him as he started to slightly peek.

And what he saw almost relieved him instantly.

Cats, are said to be the most noble animals of all.

They speak riches and power, as well as beauty and grandeur.

That's why there are Gods that were associated with cats, such as Bastet and Sekhmet.

And there are many types of cats; the predators, the guardians and the homeboys who just cuddles up with you when you are cold.

Yet the cat standing before them right now is different.

Pink robes adorn her petite body, her skin white as snow and supple that she is so healthy to look at. Any male who sees her instantly drools over her body.

Her ears, protruding up, twitches slightly from time to time, but her face remains cold and aloof.

Her long, slender legs, plus the doll shoes she is wearing makes the perfect sight even more dazzling in appearance.

And right now, what she was doing, is holding a metallic arm in one hand and a katana on the other.

Yes, she stopped the two titans.

By herself.

With her petite body.

Armon, and Kruger, seeing this, decided to take a step back.

The woman, standing in between of them, glared at both of them.

"So?"

She said, and with one line, the silent energies started to vibrate again, and in a stronger manner than having Armon and Kruger clash with each other.

Zaon, who was hiding, felt the heaviness of the said pressure.

And although his eyes couldn't see fully, he knows the person, rather, the beast who can make the energies around him this noisy.

"I'm sorry, Miss Adelaide!"

Kruger suddenly knelt down and went on all fours

Adelaide, who saw this, just scoffed at him and looked at Armon.

Armon, who was sitting, feeding his capybara, returned the glare.

"We were tracking an Anomaly."

Armon stated, without stop, without hitch.

Adelaide, who heard this, walked towards the garbage dump.

Seeing this, Zaon panicked, and tried to bury himself deeper, but then, a hand suddenly grabbed his face.

"UGHRKK!"

With one pull, Adelaide is now holding him, and he can't escape.

He tried, and tried, but he can't. Even fighting back against her is impossible, as she can kill him with one flick.

And that is Zaon's problem.

To be honest, he already exceeded the pain he needed to be sent out of the game.

But even a notice, nor the warning, was not shown to him.

First, he chose to jump over the windowz because he knows it will be a sudden impact, and the pain he will suffer is something more than a scratch.

Yet, there was no warning.

Then, he ran around the streets, trying to lose the knights, even with his battered body, to maximize the pain, yet it didn't bear fruit.

Until they got to his tail and he jumped to thw garbage dump.

Contamination, suffocation and body failure is waving at him, but to no avail.

The screen is not showing.

The screen of a forced log out.

And now, a powerful being is holding him like a doll.

Fear washed over him as he began to panic.

What will happen if he die here? Will he meet Celess again? Will he be able to meet his family again? What kind of answers lie there?

As his mind raced, Armon smiled at the sight

"Thank you." He said as he walked over to Adelaide.

But, all he got was a hand.

"Stop."

She said, and then she slammed Zaon onto the ground.

"ARRGHHKK!"

A sudden burst of pain shot through his body.

He squirmed and cried out as the pain shot through the roof.

It is not an understatement if all his bones inside his body is now crushed because of how strong Adelaide's blow is.

He can't even move his body to this point.

His eyes are turning blurry, and he was questioning himself for the things he chose to do.

Jumping over the window was a pretty cool move, but a dumb decision if you ask me.

Adelaide, Armon, and Kruger, seeing this, stopped for a moment.

Adelaide then eyed Amon, and with a frown, she asked.

"How can a Native be an Anomaly?"
