[Luffys POV, 1AM Lumina City Underground Arena]
I don't feel so good. The arena guy says I'll be up again soon but the last guy actually managed to land a hit on me. I beat him but still. Time to go up again, I will get out here with Brook. The guy comes in and I get up, knowing its time again, I lost count of how many I won after 10. I think its 20 or something.
"UP NEXT, THE SURPRISING UPSET OF THE NIGHT... with 23 consecutive wins.. STRAW HAT LUFFY!!" The announcer guy shouts. 23? Nice. I go out to the ring and wave to Brook who waves back, playing with his new band he's gained while up there. Then the other door opens, "AND NOW, FRESH IS OUR CHAMPION, INTRODUCING... CHAMPION KADSSSS!" the announcer guy shouts, the crowd goes wild. Champion huh? Well this will be good. I strain my neck to see this guy.
Kads is a strong looking guy with tan skin, you can see his abs and muscles on his white unbuttoned shirt, kinda like what I wear. and blue shorts, sky blue hair like Reina's but short and spiky. He also has those same ocean blue eyes, 'maybe he's related to Reina..' My thoughts are cut off when I see his grin though. Its not like the others I went with, it's wild, big. It radiates confidence, 'this guy must be the real deal.' I think as I take my stance as he comes and the ref makes us shake hands and the fight begins.
i punch a Gomu Gomu Pisol and he dodges, grinning still. I can feel my grin, this is gonna be good. I punch again lower and he sidesteps, dodging it. "You stretch like rubber." he observes dodging another punch. Damn he's fast! I leap up bring down my Gomu Gomu Axe. Kads crosses his forearms and blocks, I retract my leg, back flipping then landing, "shishishi! Your fast!" I say and he just grins so I lower my fist and coil my body into Gear two, "Gear Second!" I say, steam coming off my body. His grin widens, "There it is." He says, "GOMU GOMU... JET GATLING!" I shout releasing the flurry of arms. Kads dodges and weaves. He then does a hook right into my core and I skid back, feeling the blood. Shit, he has Haki too. I then activate armament, "RED HAWK!" I shout, launching my flaming Haki fist at him. He meets it head on with a powerful punch, the shockwaves bouncing outward. His punch makes me realize my fatigue, 'Shit, 23 fights are taking a toll on me. I need to beat him though....' I think as I dodge a kick. He's good.
Brooks music helps me focus though, the music reaching an exciting peak, I need to get Brook out. I grit my teeth as Kads lands another hit. I circle away to avoid being cornered and leap back, I need to end this. Full armament, gear two and three. Kads turns to face me sensing i'm about to do something. "GEAR THIRD!" I shout, blowing my armament covered fist up with gear third. I wind up, "GOMU GOMU.... KING KONG GUN!!" I shout launching the enormous fist. Kads' eyes widen with surprise, but there's no fear... its analyzing. He doesn't waste a second and meets my King Kong Gun with his own punch. He staggers back from the size and power of it. 'Damn it... He stopped it..."I think. The black spots are appearing in my vision, the 23 fights are taking their toll. I breathe heavily trying to recover quickly but Kads' expression has gone dark. He can see the fatigue, the crowd is roaring at him to finish me. For the first time, I realize he might win... but he hasn't come. He's in his stance, "Come on straw hat." he says. "Give me everything" He says, his eyes gleaming with that same kind Zoro gets in a good fight. 'He's letting me recover so I can fight.' I realize and take my stance, I wont lose now! I then below my fist to full size again, "GOMU GOMU.... KING KONG RIFLE!" I shout, launching my massive, armament corkscrew punch. Kads' grin widens and he plants his feet... and takes it, coating his head with armament, meeting it head on. The shock waves reverberate from the powerful clash, Kads is driven back despite all his efforts. I pant heavily from the force of it and I can hear Kads' laughing. Not insulting, joyous. He's enjoying it. I refuse to let the darkness creeping into my vision take me and grit my teeth, "GOMU GOMU... JET GATLING" I shout launching a flurry of regular sized armament fists. Kads' grins, sidestepping, dodging, weaving through them and coming closer. I leap back, abandoning the attack and dodging Kads' attack and then with a sudden burst of speed, Kads keeps coming, and catches me off guard, 'He anticipated my dodge! It was a setup!' I realized too late. He slips past my defense and uppercuts me hard in the chin and I go flying across the mat. I crash. The darkness is filling my vision. I force myself up and wipe the blood off my chin. Kads stand there watching me. "You're a tough one Straw Hat." Kads says with a laugh and flashes his grin I know too well now. "I... I have to beat you... Brook.." I say hoarsely, standing. I have to win. Kads gives me an unreadable look but then asks almost conversationally, "How many matches have you fought tonight?" He asks. I blink in confusion, "Twenty three." I answer. He looks surprised, "23? Damn Straw Hat." He says impressed. The crowd boos, telling us to fight. Kads sighs and takes a stance, "Why do you need to win?" He asks more seriously. "Brook." I say and he glances at the box that Brook is playing in and nods, a look of understanding washing over his face. He grins wider and stands up out of his stance. He then opens his arms. "Give me all you got Straw Hat." He says. The crowd boos and jeers, seeing his surrender but Kads ignores it, his grin not changing "Lets fight again sometime yeah?" He asks. I blink then nod, excited. I then below my fist up, coating it with armament, "GOMU GOMU... ELEPHANT GUN!" I shout, launching the powerful punch at Kads who's grin only widens, embracing it with zero resistance. BOOOM the punch lands clean and Kads goes flying out in a KO, ending the fight. People boo loudly as the ref raises my hand in victory and as soon as i exit the ring I feel the darkness and everything coming at once, 'Everywhere hurtssss,,,' I think and its my last thought before the darkness takes me.
----------[Brooks POV- Post match]----------
Kads is surrounded by people asking if he's ok. He gets up and sees me and grins, "Wow, your captain is no joke Bones. I look forward to fighting him again." He says and sees an unconscious Luffy in my arms. "Make sure he gets to the hospital." He says. I nod. Just then, an angry guy in the gold cape comes, "YOU!" He roars at, pointing a stubby shaking finger at Kads, "You have any idea how much you just cost me?!" He roars. "I lost," Kads says simply with a shrug. The gold cape guy loses his mind, "YOU SURRENDERED! I LOST MILLIONS! DISHONORABLE!" He practically spits while roaring. Kads bristles at the word 'Dishonorable', "ME?!" Kads asks, baffled and offended, "You want to talk about DISHONORABLE? The guy who sits comfortably in a plush chair as people bleed out for your pleasure and your millions and your talking honor" Kads scoffs. He goes right up to the man in the gold cape, "'Dishonorable'... My ASS" Kads shouts, "You've made Straw Hat fight 23 matches tonight, while keeping his friend as hostage! 23!" He roars. "Don't you DARE talk to ME about honor." He snarls and clenches his fist and slams it hard into the gold cape guys core. The gold cape guy spits blood and eyes bulge as he goes straight through the brick wall with the sheer force of the punch. Everyone's jaw dropped and Kads expression is dark, nobody tries to stop him as he comes to me, "C'mon. We're taking him to the hospital" He says. I only nod and adjust Luffy in my arms and we step over the gold cape guy and head into the darkness.
