"So… how did you end up here… Victo-oo-r?" she stretched my name longer than necessary, clearly mispronouncing it. And yeah, the language… as far as I understood, the portal gun helped the user understand languages.
Honestly, I had no idea how it worked, but the result was obvious—I seriously doubted she was speaking English...
It was clear the girl was nervous too, holding her right hand with her left, as if keeping it close so it wouldn't harm me.
"By accident… I don't choose where the portal opens," I shrugged. "It's kind of… empty here?" I added, looking around.
"I just created this place. And… do you need something?"
"Me? No, I'm just… heh, just running from myself and my problems, I guess," I exhaled, admitting that simple truth.
"I think we're alike in that," the girl smiled faintly, but quickly returned to a more composed expression. "So… is that magic?" she pointed at the still-hovering Hoverboard.
"A magical artifact," I nodded. "Nothing like this around here?" I turned back toward the balcony and stepped closer to look around.
"The kingdom of Arendelle is nearby, and there are no such… artifacts there," Elsa gestured in its direction. "But… things there must be a bit unsettled right now."
"Why?" I turned to her.
"I… I… I'm its queen… and I ran away," she said, exhaling cold air.
"Oh, so I'm in the presence of royalty… though I figured as much," I smiled sincerely at Elsa. "Why did you run? With your abilities, you could be a great support for your kingdom…"
"They fear me. My powers… and I only bring harm with them," she clenched her fists. "The kingdom is that way. I think you won't have trouble getting there," she gestured again and turned on her heel, heading deeper into the palace.
"What do you mean, fear? Magic is a gift, an ability that can be used for good. Of course, it can be used for harm too, but that depends entirely on the person," I said, making Elsa stop. "I know many places where magic is completely normal… where people train for years to control it and use it for good. So what's the problem? Magic is like a sword—you can protect with it, or you can cut. It all depends on who holds it."
"You're clearly from far away…" she glanced over her shoulder.
"Very perceptive…" I rolled my eyes, earning a quiet chuckle from her. "So… you—or maybe just 'you'… listen, where I'm from, there are no kings, so it's a bit hard for me to address a young girl so formally. Can we just use 'you'? Hopefully I won't get my head chopped off for that?"
"Hm, maybe not," she hummed, still not fully turning around.
"You're just afraid of your powers, right? It's hard to control yourself when you're afraid, especially around people… where I come from, a psychiatrist might help. That's someone trained to help with fears and things like that."
"Like a doctor, but for problems not related to physical health?" she turned fully now, curiosity in her eyes.
"Basically, yeah. Though sometimes fears affect health too… mental health matters. I could use someone like that myself…" I muttered, sitting down on the Hoverboard.
Maybe I should go to some bright fairy world? You know, where good always wins, butterflies fly around, and there's always a rainbow…
Yeah… that kind of place already makes me sick.
Right now I was in the world of "Frozen," though I barely remembered anything about it… there were two sisters, and the whole story revolved around them. I watched it like ten years ago, so no wonder I forgot.
"Yeah… loneliness probably isn't the answer… I might end up with even more problems in my head," I concluded. "So, who's ruling the kingdom while you're here?"
"...My younger sister—Anna," she replied, still not leaving.
"You left the kingdom to your younger sister? Respect… I never had siblings," I said, then pulled out a cup of hot chocolate from my inventory and took a sip.
"My sister is strong. She'll manage…" the pale girl said, though not very confidently.
"So you really just ran away without telling anyone anything?" I raised an eyebrow at the "queen."
"I… I… s-so what?" she shot back, stomping her foot, sending magical frost spreading across the floor.
"Nothing. Just impressed by your carelessness… funny how similar our situations are. Not the kingdom part, but the running away from problems," I said.
"Alright then, good luck, Elsa. Hope we meet again. I'm going to fly up and look around…"
She didn't respond, and I flew off in silence… the conversation hadn't gone very smoothly, but to be fair, I was never good at that. Especially with someone afraid of herself and her own power…
I just didn't know what else to tell her beyond what I already had. And to her, I was just a strange stranger. So even if she was curious… she was trapped in her own world of suffering.
Flying higher, I saw the kingdom—Arendelle… covered in snow, the harbor completely frozen. Judging by the people, they weren't exactly ready for a sudden winter.
I kept going higher… and higher. I had time, so I didn't rush to use the portal gun. Over the three days I spent in the Kaiju world, I tested my limits. Turns out, I couldn't pull anything from comics at all. Just didn't work. Physical copies or online—it didn't matter. Same with trying to invent my own "games" or "items."
I even paid a guy who knew his stuff to make a small game like Mario with descriptions like:
"Existence Crystal — grants immortality, strength, and endurance comparable to gods. A fragment of the former God of Chaos from which the universe originated."
It didn't work. Well, I could pull the item out… but it had no effect.
Also, I could pull items not just from a laptop, but from a phone or TV too. That part made sense. As long as it was a movie, series, or game.
I had the idea to pull out the Infinity Stones, but… comics were a no-go, like I said. And in the cinematic universe, the stones only worked in their original universe. That was mentioned more than once. So I could get them—but they'd be useless.
My laptop had a lot of anime and games I downloaded before… before I had to run for my life from my world, my universe, my reality. So no Dragon Ball—never watched it. I vaguely remembered something about wish-granting orbs… but that was useless here too. That anime didn't exist in the Kaiju world.
"Heh, a kingdom surrounded by sea with ocean access… выгодный торговый партнер," I muttered, looking over the land from above.
"Looks like this is your limit…" I noticed the Hoverboard suddenly stopped rising.
Still, it was enough… and it was getting dark. I started descending back toward the kingdom. Elsa was in the mountains, and the path there went through a frozen sea and forest… if I remembered right, her sister was supposed to go after her.
Not that it mattered much to me—I barely remembered the story. But there were wolves out there… if she got eaten, Elsa would probably freeze the entire kingdom out of grief…
"Yeah, I'm not searching for anyone…" I pulled out the portal gun and fired. Riding the Hoverboard through the portal, I immediately spotted a girl below, shivering as she walked. Her dress was frozen, like she had already fallen into water…
"Need help?" I asked, lowering down.
At my sudden voice, she jumped and fell into a snowdrift, brushing against branches and getting a pile of snow on her head.
"Heh… help? Pfft, of course not—me? I'm fine…" more snow fell on her head. "Okay, please…" two bare hands reached out of the snow.
"Not dressed for the weather," I said, grabbing her hand and pulling her out.
"Ah-ha, yeah, that's true, but it was fine just recently, and then this happened and… I didn't have time to prepare," the red-haired girl said quickly. Her features were very similar to Elsa's—well, sisters.
"Wait… you're flying!" she exclaimed, pointing at me.
"And I breathe fire too," I nodded.
"Seriously?!" she perked up, clutching her frozen hands and staring at me with wide, innocent eyes.
"Not yet… haven't really needed that skill," I said, then pulled out a 'Warmth Potion' from my inventory. "Here, drink this. It'll warm you up and protect you from the cold for a while."
"Oh, is it magic?! Thank you!" she took it without hesitation, uncorked it, and drank. Her body visibly stopped trembling, and she sighed in relief. "Ah, that's so much better… I'm not cold anymore, amazing!"
"You know… either you're as innocent as morning dew, or just stupid… didn't anyone teach you not to take things from strangers?"
"No, and you're the stupid one! Oh, have you seen… a girl like me? Maybe a queen, passing by?" she asked hopefully.
"Pale face, snow-white hair, blue eyes, and a cold, regal expression with a hint of superiority?"
"Yes, exactly!" she jumped. "Do you know where she is?! Please, I really need to find her!"
"I have an idea…" I nodded. "But introduce yourself first. I'm Victor, you can call me Vic."
"I'm Anna!" she said brightly, already eyeing the Hoverboard with HUGE curiosity…
