Chapter 17 - The Embodiment of a Traveler

What can you accomplish in a week of gaming? Especially if you focus on several games? Well, as it turned out, quite a lot.

In Terraria, I had already gathered a huge number of different items, both magical and not. And yes, I managed to deal with the Moon Lord, although it was not easy at all. When his figure appeared across the entire screen as if in the background, I remembered that damn Godzilla. And I could not summon any mech there, since there were none in the game…

For him to appear, you had to destroy the Four Celestial Pillars and then use the Celestial Sigil. Around each of the pillars there was its own unique biome, and Anna and I, yes, the girl got into it, and later I managed to connect her to my game world, played several sessions together.

And yes, I immediately checked whether I could take items if Anna started a new game and created her own world in Terraria and… no, I could not. If she plays alone, I cannot pull items from her game session. But if she joins me and finds, for example, a healing potion in a chest, then I can take it if I was there with her, and my character was nearby. If she continues playing in that world alone, but on my laptop, I still cannot take items that she obtained herself…

So yeah, my power once again showed that finding "slaves" who would farm items for me would not work… too bad. Automating potion production that way would not work either… although it is not like I have problems with them. Getting them in the game is not hard at all. And it turned out that some things still retained "game-like properties."

"How does that even work?" Slight confusion was easily noticeable in my tone, as well as in the way my right hand instinctively rested against my chin. Next to me, Elsa and Anna stood silently… impressed. Yes. Impressed. Silent.

In front of us stood a cube of dirt, about one meter by one meter. A real, perfectly even cube of dirt, as if it had been cut in a factory. And in my hand floated an identical one, just much smaller. Still looking at the cube, I extended my hand and willed another dirt block to appear on top of it… and it did. Just as suddenly as before. Then another… breaking all known laws of physics, now three cubes stood before me in an L shape, with the last one hanging in the air… and not falling.

"Maybe I should become an architect?" the thought came to me.

"Oh! That is amazing! Elsa can build with ice, and you can build with… oh, with everything! You had stone blocks in your chest! And wooden ones! We could quickly build new houses for people!" Anna looked at me with stars in her eyes.

"Wonderful! You could have warm hugs there!" the snowman sure knows what he is talking about…

"Sister, let us not rush into action like you usually do," Elsa quickly calmed her sister's enthusiasm. "Vic has never done construction before…" she glanced at me to confirm.

"No, I have not," I nodded.

"…so we should not overwhelm people with his abilities right away. After all, hiding suddenly appearing… blocks of material is hardly possible."

"But people clearly will not mind if we explain everything!" Anna objected energetically, her eyes wide open. It was obvious an idea had already formed in her head…

No, not just an idea.

An IDEA.

And the mind of the young red-haired girl immediately began looking only at the positives.

"But we do not even know how long these blocks will last. What if in an hour they… disappear? Or they are unstable…" for demonstration, I approached the dirt blocks and touched them. They felt like completely normal soil. Not dry and crumbling, but rather slightly moist, like it was ready for something to grow in it. And even so, the block held its shape perfectly, just like in the game.

"Alright…" a small cube of dirt appeared in my hand, this time from Minecraft. I placed it next to the other one and… it was also one meter by one meter. They looked quite similar.

But here physics worked, albeit with some delay. If you place two blocks on top of each other and then attach another one sideways to the top block, it falls. But a wooden block does not… in general, it has its quirks.

Honestly, I had a strange position in the kingdom. I mean… as it turned out, my presence caused a flood of all kinds of rumors among the people. I appeared quite suddenly, helped the queen and her sister, and then stayed in the palace with them. Servants saw it, guards saw it, and we often walked outside together, no one was trying to stab the queen, and there were no conspiracies, apparently.

And I realized all this when I overheard the maids talking. They giggled and said how cute Elsa and I looked together… and then I heard even more interesting things after turning invisible using my Spider-Man abilities and listening to more conversations. I was practically already being written down as her future husband, and a few days later, when Anna got her way and Elsa approved building new houses… my image in the eyes of the people started to shine.

I was not against doing something creative either, especially since when wooden blocks were stacked, everything looked quite natural and even… nice.

Yes, that is the right word.

Especially since I could combine things from both Terraria and Minecraft, so we easily built a three-story house for two large families on one of the empty spots in the city. In reality, there were no visible "blocky edges," and when placing windows, everything slightly smoothed out where needed and became more aesthetically pleasing.

"What wonderful magic…" one of the many citizens watching said.

"Yes! The queen has chosen a worthy partner, our kingdom will prosper!" replied a slightly plump woman with rosy cheeks.

"Princess Anna is also close to him…"

"No way!"

And I heard all of that perfectly well thanks to my enhanced senses while building.

Although calling this construction would be an insult to real professionals who calculate every detail… while I was just playing Tetris and stacking cubes. In the end, in a couple of hours, I finished furnishing the house, painting it, and arranging furniture inside…

Two families who faithfully worked in the castle for Elsa moved in immediately, and I did not mind. Living in a guest room suited me for now, especially since soon I would be traveling with a merchant ship to the mainland, which would take about five to seven days, as the merchant said.

"No." Elsa shook her head when she heard Anna's request to go with me. "Anna, the world out there is not like Arendelle. Here everyone knows each other, but out there there are many dangers."

"I know, I am not a child!" the redhead stomped her foot.

"Not a child, but you clearly do not understand everything…" Elsa sighed tiredly.

"Do you not want to come with us yourself? I can teleport, so we could return to the castle by evening… or anytime," I said, nodding toward Anna, who looked at her sister pleadingly and almost jumped into her lap.

"Oh…" the queen pressed her hand to her forehead…

But permission was granted.

I had so many items in my "Inventory" for all situations that there was no need to worry about danger. Even if we met a dozen Godzillas, my mech was with me, and it had already proven itself against kaiju.

Still, I understood Elsa's concerns. Their parents were lost at sea, so… it made sense. She would not have let her sister go if not for me.

So, when the merchant set sail to the mainland, we went with him, Anna and I… and Elsa too, who stayed in contact with us through a phone I pulled from The Sims. I also brought out an antenna from there, so it worked…

"How beautiful the world beyond the horizon is! How full of colors and warmth!" Anna sang while standing at the bow of the ship. And it actually looked… beautiful and mesmerizing.

"Do not fall," I suddenly said.

"I will not faaall!" she turned to me with a wide smile, looking straight into my eyes, stepped closer, took my hand, and spun so that my arm wrapped around her waist. "…do you feel anything?"

"You," I answered honestly.

"…" she smiled wider and tilted her head back, resting it against my chest, trying to look at me from that angle, as if expecting something.

"What?"

"Do you… know what true love is?" she asked, still smiling, though for a moment it seemed like she blushed.

"Honestly? Not really… in my world, if true love existed, it was very hard to find, and I do not even know anyone like that. But simple attraction…"

Anna suddenly turned to face me, pressing herself closer, and quickly kissed me on the lips with her eyes closed. I was slightly caught off guard, but I did not pull away…

"Ah, youth… people were right after all…" I faintly heard the merchant say.
