F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS
There are sub ranks within these categories through the use of the ★ and ☆ an example of this is like this
RACE: Slime
RANK: F ☆
LOOT: Slime core, Jelly
RACE: Grass Slime
RANK: F ★
LOOT: Grass Slime core, Grass Jelly
While they're both F rank the difference between a Grass slime and a Slime are monumental, a normal Slime can only absorb damage and try an consume something with a weaker VIT than itself if it doesn't have a higher VIT it can't, while a Grass Slime can both minorly control grass, blend in, it can also consume living organic matter with 1.5x its vitality.
There is also a rare chance for a mutation(being touched by mana), mutations can range from an impure mutation providing a .5x boost to the monster and the attribute of the affected monster(like a grass slime gets a boost to its VIT), to a perfect mutation providing a 5x boost(a perfect mutation boosts all aspects), subsequently the loot is also more effective on the mutated part, like if a slime has its core mutated its alchemical usage is boosted by .5x if it was an impure mutation.
There is another concept called names, these monsters have intelligence, and can be bonded with, killing them provides special undisclosed rewards.
