Chapter 4 - Blood Book 1

Every cultivator all-over the battlefield was puzzled at this display in sight.

The phenomenon was jaw-dropping. All of them looked in awe with expression filled with surprise and most apparently, shock!

With a wide and thunderous burst, all the blood which was already close to the waists of any cultivator present was now floating in the air, by some means which held them in place.

However, this was not it.

All these was ignored by these cultivators as a result of the increasingly distant and apprehensive aura felt a second ago.

A brilliant light, brighter than any they'd ever seen appeared. Its brilliance seized their sight for a few seconds before they could hear a chime amidst the river of blood.

The blood of billions or so of lives chimed heavily and abruptly twisted forming very large and giant blood whirlpools around the battlefield. Thousands of such whirlpools appeared and sucked in the large amount of blood.

Very soon, the battlefield's aura and energy became its next prey.

The blood whirlpools sucked the battlefield's energy thin, so thin that it barely could be felt anymore making the cultivators grew agitated.

'isn't this scenario similar to the event fifty thousand years ago' the Prime cultivators thought. They were very sensitive and were able to link the similarities—the thinning of energy.

All top cultivators suddenly felt fortunate. They could feel the emotions raising from their consciousness.

This is it!

They wouldn't be restrained after they took ownership of this treasure. Coldness suddenly swept through the battlefield, released by all top cultivators contemporaneously.

The lesser cultivators shivered in understanding and quickly left the region to the far back. That level of fighting and energy wasn't for them. They'd be giving their lives out willingly on a plate if they stayed.

'the treasure with this same aura appeared fifty thousand years ago and was collected by the Blood Pool sect and we know how strong it was. Although, it was said the Blood Pool sect lost it several millennium ago with their leader successfully not coming back. The aura of this treasure is even more powerful than the former, it can't be overlooked. It's surely for me.' Lezenon thought while scheming.

Every cultivator remaining in this region had such thoughts. It wasn't irrational by any means.

The Blood Pool sect claimed ownership of such treasure fifty thousand years ago amidst bloodbaths. They killed all who opposes or stood in their way. Other major sects didn't get the news on time and before they could arrive, the Blood Pool's disciples were long gone—hidden away from the eyes of others.

It was later known that the one who brought the treasure back was named the future sect master and after the present leader withdrawn, he gave that disciple the sect master's position after thorough consideration and guidance.

The Blood Pool sect became famous and in came a lot of talents seeking and hoping to learn under them when they heard of the benefits of the treasure. The Blood Pool's sect reputation increased considerably. Even the major sects have to give them some face.

They aren't weak by any means.

But the fact to be known was that the present phenomenon was even more incredible than fifty thousand years prior. The blood was in the air, formed into giant whirlpools.

There was nothing as this back then. Furthermore, the whirlpools sucked the battlefield's energy, which means this occurrence was much more formidable than the previous events.

The cultivators marveled at the sight.

'is the treasure closely related to blood?' they thought within themselves. The treasure's oddity came as a huge surprise. They heard the previous treasure had to do with blood also, perhaps the Blood Pool sect might have some clue.

They gave the particular group a side glance. However, before they could investigate further though…

Aiyy Aiyy Aiyy…

A faint cry could be heard in the midst of blood whirlpools. The whirlpools started contracting really fast. It started small, then faster and faster. Currently, their speed was unbelievably.

In just a few seconds, their sizes were as small as a ring that could fit the finger. Considering their great extent, these rings aren't in small numbers.

At this moment, all the blood ring-sized whirlpools began to converge. Regardless of their current sizes, they started swirling really fast and condensed their remaining energy even smaller whilst they merge.

The ground suddenly cracked all around the battlefield as the dim light of blood whirlpools converged. No more blood could be seen on the battlefield.

The energy cracked the ground and drew out hundreds of thousands of years of black decayed liquid. The pungent smell worsened when this liquid appeared and all the cultivators on the battlefield's coverage shuddered and nearly picked a race.

It felt like their soul was imprisoned but some actually got some courage to engage the whirlpool's convergence.

But they weren't even an inch away from their positions when the thousands of blood whirlpools gathered into a huge mass of blood.

At the same time, the huge mass of blood started shrinking, becoming smaller and smaller as it released a strange energy. It was this energy that restricted their will making them remain still while providing a false comfort.

The mass of blood was now one meter in diameter, but as if searching for more fuel…

Uhhh…

The injured cultivators one kilometer radius from the mass of blood started feeling itchy as they realized their blood was being sucked away at an alarming speed, and their energy dropped.

Whether it be the Prime cultivators or of lesser rankings in its range, all felt incredibly weakened in just a few seconds and moved.

Those not quick enough were quickly turned into paste whatever cultivation realm they were.

Most importantly, their worlds which was supposed to form upon their death had not materialized. Isn't that equivalent to their entire legacy lost?

Worst part, their weapons and treasures which dropped immediately they were turned to paste was nowhere to be found.

That was dangerous!

Already out of the blood mass 'domain', they could see as it uprooted the earth. What they couldn't find in the battlefield all these years appeared before their eyes.

Large fruits, stems, to treasures hidden deep underground, knowledge, fire seeds and others. The energy was intense. It went all the way upward towards the heavens and deep underground in the depths of darkness; every important thingy one kilometer radius—two thousand meter range from all sides were sucked in.

Everything was gone. Nothing remained. All life in one fell swoop!

Only now do they register the true threat. They were filled with true dread. One could see warriors and cultivators of distinct realm running in the air and on the ground for their lives.

The junior cultivators at the edge of the battleground felt confused by this turn of tide.

Why were these peak and top ranked distinguished masters running? And what could have given them the fret of their lives to such an extent that they ran from it.

They, the peak and top cultivators kept running at their plight.

Bobbles made of blood blew everywhere. Nevertheless, the mass of blood didn't let them go to waste—sucking in everything like a tortoise starved for over a thousand years.

The energy became even more violent and cracked the earth fabrics deeper while sucking anything it could find beneficial. All the cultivators were now at least five thousand meters away from the mass of blood aura.

As if feeling satisfied or perhaps is couldn't find anything more worthy of its attention in range, it chimed and started shrinking.

It started condensing its energy!

The cultivators sighed in relieve. No surprises were permitted anymore.

But it seemed it wasn't done. Maybe the energy wasn't enough, or it wanted to try harder. The cultivators who thought to have left the range of the shrinking mass of blood started feeling dizzy. Itching overcame them. Realization dawned on them.

No! It can't be happening again!

Booom!

Spiritual energy exploded from their bodies, wanting to contain their minds and the blood-like energy seeping into them.

Solo warriors, warriors of every rank, sect leaders, kings and queens started another run, their fear evident. Some might have forgotten their 'stuffs'.

The ocean nearby where the esteemed powers tried to avoid was being drained and divided creating a barrier of some sort.

Perhaps, no one was minced in its second 'assault'.

Layers of translucent barrier covered the condensed, flattened mass of blood energy which has its sides curved. The flattened energy was slowly being reshaped and resized in the speed the eyes could follow.

Exactly an hour later, it has been compressed and reshaped into a book in size that could fit the hand.

Shrreee…

A huge mass of energy was suddenly released which swept through the whole battlefield.

The cultivators' mental focus was fully active and immediately, they noticed the amiss energy spreading towards them. They, in an instant wanted to run but the energy was too fast it reached them in an instant, went through their body and continued forth without stop, completely without harm.

They felt empowered and relived and those on the verge of breakthrough instantly broke through without difficulty.

The energy even rewarded them!

But they weren't satisfied and wanted more with hints of greed obviously plastered on their faces. But alas, that was it.

They looked over, towards the source of energy which could effortlessly help a breakthrough they might never dared to initiate.

However, it seems that was all. This was enough, because the book encased in layers of barrier was long gone. It was nowhere to be seen.

It was completely gone, and perhaps, never to be seen again.
