Blood carried Ballock on his shoulder to their hidden cave obscured by tree leaves and trunks; four miles away. They only found this cave by chance previously, and they've been using it ever since. Though some primitive beast might show up sometimes.
Blood noticed on the way that he didn't feel tired at all. He spread his arms through the air.
Very refreshing!
All his live he had to walk. If he ran, he would be tired in about a minute or so. Hence, he was kept at home being home-schooled.
However, he was glazing through the grasses and trees at full speed. Maybe if he didn't have Ballock on his shoulder he would have been faster. It should be about 10 minutes now, but he wasn't tired at all, contrarily he felt energized.
He could still run another mile.
He arrived at the cave shortly after.
The cave's entrance was thin, about half a meter wide with the height slightly longer. It has a rock by it side. He entered with Ballock.
The interior was slightly large and dark with enough space for ten or so people.
Everything looked normal exactly as they were left with the exception of an unwelcome company slithering just a few feet in front of him.
Blood shivered when he felt the aura released by the Earth-spill Cobra just a distance away that could be crossed at any second.
His eyesight was also enhanced.
Blood released Ballock slowly to the ground and placed him on the cushion below. He couldn't run back or the predator would be on his tail. Also, he knew he couldn't outrun it. He also wouldn't leave Ballock behind.
The Earth-spill Cobra was commonly seen in the Sand-scale forest being the most common among other beasts. They were usually found in groups, but it seems this was a stray one.
They were usually primitive beasts with few in the Iron realm and even less in the Bronze realm. Silver realm Earth-spill Cobra is nigh impossible.
Blood looked around for any support before a thought suddenly crossed his mind. The leftover wood for fire last time should do the trick. He slowly walked to the side.
The wood was on his right, just a few feet away.
The Cobra obviously noticed him but didn't seem to mind him shifting position and sets its eyes to the left.
The fact that it wasn't interrupting and didn't bother about him, he quickened his pace but just three feet away from the wood he stopped. Blood looked closely to ensure he saw correctly since the cave was dark.
Anyway, there was a wolf…cub a meter ahead clearly not in a good condition. The wolf fixed his eyes on Blood and their eyes met. They wolf was confused by the third party's arrival.
It was the first to appear here by chance seeking a place to rest after being hunted by a group of explorers, but it appeared trouble wasn't over.
Just a few minutes after it entered, a Cobra passed through the entrance. It seems the Cobra tracked the wolf through the blood trail of the injured wolf. They instantly engaged in a heavy battle.
The Cobra thought it could dominate the wolf in its injured and weak state, but the wolf proved stubborn.
After some minutes of battle with no one as the victor, they parted. The Cobra thought 'since it couldn't win, it might as well wait until the wolf bled to death' while the wolf thought 'with enough time, it would recover its energy and by then this slithery beast won't be any trouble'.
Which led to the current scene. But something changed—a third party has appeared.
Blood looked between the snake and the wolf while in deep thought which infuriated the Cobra.
It instantly lashed out.
This new beast seems weak. A third company was never a good thing in this case…
Blood quickly took hold of the wood and swung it in the Cobra's direction. The wood moved extremely fast. It felt like he had practiced this move a thousand times. Even he was surprised by his movement and the wood's speed!
'when was he so fast!?' he thought in astonishment.
The wood hit the snake square in its wide-opened mouth, which sent it flying back, hitting hard on the cave wall.
It was a heavy blow…
Blood scrutinized his hands. How is he this strong?
The Earth-spill Cobra was in the Iron realm and maybe the mid-stages with its previous outburst. How could it be sent back with such force and most importantly by him?
He wasn't confident he could beat a beast in the mid-stages of the Iron realm.
But here is it. He just sent back an opponent of such caliber.
The Earth-spill Cobra realized its error. 'it seem the newly arrived sleek beast is quite powerful and packed a lot of punch' it picked the wrong opponent.
The feeble wolf was equally surprised and didn't let the opportunity go to waste. It immediately pounced on the Cobra who was still dizzy.
The Cobra just smashed into the wall. It hasn't gotten its standing back.
The wolf knew that it may be killed by the newly arrived beast. Also, with the previous show of strength it preferred not to engage the newcomer in its current state. The best option was the slithering beast whose eyes spelled; deceit.
It could negotiate with the third party after the Cobra's demise.
The Cobra raised it head only to be met by the descending claw of a wolf. The force sent its head to the ground creating a dent. The wolf bit the Cobra's tail holding it firmly and pinned the Cobra's head in the hole with its paws.
The Cobra started struggling and wriggled. Though it was smashed its strength was still there. If this goes on the wolf might not be able to hold the Cobra in place for long.
The wolf looked over to Blood as if saying, 'finish with a heavy blow' who nodded in understanding at once.
Blood rushed forward and gave the Cobra two quick stamps before bringing out his long-forgotten knife and stabbed its belly again and again until the Cobra show no wriggling or movement before he stopped!
Their bodies were covered in blood.
The wolf looked at the carcass of the Cobra. It was unrecognizable.
'newcomers shouldn't be underestimated' it thought intently, before it dragged it exhausted body to the corner. It could only hold for so long.
Blood stood frozen in his position as something appeared right in his line of sight.
He kept stabbing the Cobra just to confirm he wasn't dreaming.
He just heard a voice in his heard…immediately he killed the beast accompanied by a red panel which materialized right in front of his eyes.
