"Master, I've got everything on the list." Kreacher said, a suitcase floating behind him, full of the things he needed. "Should we go back now?"
The snake poked its head out from under Rigel's collar and looked at Kreacher curiously. This surprised Kreacher, but he didn't move to attack the snake. He had deduced that his master had bought the snake, his little master always liked snakes.
"This is Salazar." He introduced to Kreacher.
Kreacher's lips trembled, the little master had named a weak snake after the founder of Slytherin House... Kreacher hoped his little master wouldn't be beaten up by the Slytherins when he started school.
The Kreacher lamented the lady's early death; he felt that when he returned home, he should visit her and tell her about it, as she might have a solution.
Salazar knew nothing of the elf's thoughts, he was merely curious about this strange creature before losing interest and returning to stealing warmth from his new master.
"Come on, we have other things to buy." Rigel ignored the Kreacher and started going to buy everything he needed from his other list.
Of course, he didn't buy ordinary items, potions to heal injuries, to heal bones, to cure diseases of all kinds, reduce pain, stop bleeding and replenish blood, an age-enhancing potion in case he needs to look older... dry food, a torch that never goes out, a bottle that can hold dozens of liters of water, a tent that pitches itself, a rope that extends for hundreds of meters...
In the end, he spent almost 200 galleons on everything, leaving Kreacher feeling that his master had lost a few screws, but like a good elf, he just kept quiet and continued to carry everything with his magic.
The day's trip was extremely productive and Rigel was very pleased, but he was also surprised not to have encountered any of the other familiar freshmen from the book, whenever a protagonist goes shopping, they run into one or two characters, usually Hermione, Draco, or Harry Potter in person.
Rigel shrugged, he didn't care about that in the first place. If it weren't for this adventure book, he might have spent his seven educational years as a bottom-grade student at Hogwarts.
Of course, being the son not only of the wicked, vicious Bellatrix Lestrange, but also of the egocentric, greed-driven lunatic Voldemort, he knew that sooner or later he would end up getting involved in some way.
He was previously ready to focus on improving himself to at least have the ability to protect himself, although Voldy and Bellatrix are terrible parents, they are still parents, aren't they? Even a snake doesn't eat its own children, right?
Well, he hopes not.
[A/N: Yes, some of them actually eat them, lmao, not that MC knows about it.]
Finally, Kreacher apparated the two of them and their belongings back to the Black house, left the things in Rigel's room, and then went to prepare dinner, grumbling about the madness that had befallen Rigel as well, hoping that he could just leave a few more heirs before going completely insane himself.
Rigel, on the other hand, went to the room and placed Salazar in his hands. The snake looked at its owner, curious, but the next moment it became stunned. " Did you like the name Salazar, or would you prefer another?"
Salazar froze, confused for a moment, before speaking subconsciously. " Salazar is fine, wait, how are you talking to me?"
"I'm a Parselmouth, I can speak snake language." Rigel shrugged.
"I understand, it's no wonder I like you so much." Salazar nodded excitedly.
"Do you need anything?" Rigel asked.
"Well, it's been a few days since I've eaten, a rat would be good." Salazar said after thinking for a moment.
"Kreacher. " Rigel spoke, and Kreacher appeared right after.
"What can I do for you, my lord?" Kreacher asked, bowing slightly.
"From now on, keep some rats to feed Salazar every few days, find one for him to eat for now, remember to clean it first." Rigel requested.
Kreacher looked at the small snake and nodded shortly after. " Of course, Kreacher will take good care of my master's pet, Kreacher promises."
Kreacher wanted to say that it would be better for his little master to leave the snake at home to avoid being beaten up at school, but instead he only vaguely suggested that he could take care of the snake.
Rigel noticed nothing, much to Kreacher's disappointment, and left soon after, going to finish his dinner while searching for rats for Salazar.
"Oh, my lady, Kreacher doesn't know what to do... Master Rigel is going to get a beating... what should Kreacher do..." Kreacher searched for rats, grumbling worriedly.
Rigel, on the other hand, lit the fireplace in the room with a wave of his wand and placed Salazar on the floor, leaving the snake to explore on its own. He, meanwhile, sat down with his schoolbooks, ready to learn a few more useful spells for wherever he went.
