Rigel finally placed his hand on the marking, he felt his hand warm up for a moment, the book separated from his hand, closed with a snap, and the cover began to change.
Gold cursive lettering on black appeared quickly. [The Adventures of Rigel C. Black]
Rigel's eyes rolled, but he ignored the tiresome name, only to be snapped out of his trance by Kreacher, who spoke beside him, handing him the letter again. "Master, your letter, you dropped it."
Kreacher seemed worried, but didn't dare say much, just hoping Rigel was alright.
Rigel looked at the letter and then at Kreacher, confused as to why Kreacher wasn't looking at the book floating in the air.
The book opened as writing rapidly appeared on a blank page.
[No one can see me, or rather, everyone ignores me except you, their brains work on their own to ignore my existence. Even if you spoke to me directly, in their minds you would still be completely normal.]
Rigel blinked. "I understand..."
He picked up the letter again and placed it on the table. "Thanks, Kreacher, let's go shopping this afternoon."
"Yes, master." The Kreacher agreed and vanished in a flash.
Rigel turned his gaze to the book and spoke. "So, how do we begin?"
The black cursive words reappeared on the yellowed paper.
[You decide, it's your life. Currently, you can embark on a fictional adventure, but it expires as soon as you board the Hogwarts Express, so you just need to use it before then. In the magical world, on the other hand, you can be rewarded for achievements, they appear randomly as you interact with this world. You'll have to wait and see.]
Rigel nodded and asked. "What world am I going to?"
[Unknown, the worlds are randomly generated to add more excitement to the story, but there will also be achievements in those worlds, in addition to the main mission. To leave a world, there are only two ways: complete the mission or die, but dying makes you lose everything you received in that world, so I don't recommend it.]
[Furthermore, despite being random, the worlds still have 'levels', so you won't find yourself in an extremely dangerous adventure in your first world, but something you can handle as a young wizard who hasn't even been to school yet. The only similarity is that all the worlds have some form of magic.]
Rigel seemed thoughtful, should he go straight on an adventure? No, even without knowing where it would lead, it was better to be prepared.
"Can I take things with me?" Rigel asked.
[Yes, as long as you can carry it, you can take whatever you want. The same is true for the fictional world, although with caveats. Anything common can be taken as long as it can be carried, but items with magic, no matter how small, cannot be taken. For that, you need a specific item acquired through achievements that allows you to bring magical items (unit) and even living beings, although they must first agree to be brought, if they are intelligent.]
[Furthermore, to bring items, they must be yours, whether through purchase, achievement, finding, or robbery, but theft, that is, stealing without violence or aggression, doesn't count. There needs to be direct interaction with people to acquire items, not just picking things up from anywhere, unless, of course, the writer finds some unclaimed treasure.]
Rigel understood, he was excited to try, but first he needed a bag with a extension charm, as well as many useful things, mainly potions.
There were a few items with extension charm around the house, so he could pick one, but magic potions... he needed to get those in Diagon Alley, the problem was his funds weren't very promising.
Because he was adopted by the Black family, he lost his right to the Lestrange family's coffers, but the Black family wasn't poor in the first place.
Furthermore, as Bellatrix's son, he could also acquire her vault, but both the Blacks' vault and Bellatrix's personal vault would only be accessible after he graduated from Hogwarts or turned 17.
Currently, he only has access to a personal safe for magical orphans, it's basically a safe that siphons money from the Blacks' safe and receives 100 galleons every year.
The vault was opened when Walburga died, currently, he has 600 galleons. Subtracting expenses for food, clothes, and books over the years, he still has over 500 galleons left. 100 galleons is more than enough to buy everything he needs for Hogwarts of the highest quality, so he can use up to 400 galleons to 'equip' himself.
Taking a deep breath, he decided that he wouldn't go straight there, in the coming days he would buy all sorts of useful items for any type of environment.
From being stranded on a deserted island to being thrown into the middle of a space war, he asked Kreacher for paper and a pen and began to write things down.
As he was taking notes, he noticed that the book opened again and words began to appear.
[Chapter 1]
[...Rigel had realized the difficulties he might face, the Adventure book hadn't told him anything, so with a pen and paper, he began to list everything he might need, thinking about all the possibilities, even the most hostile environments he could find himself in...]
Rigel's lips trembled, for a moment he regretted accepting this idiotic book. Was he writing his biography while he was still alive? Holy shit!
