"I'll miss you too," I replied.
"Let's hang out sometimes during the summer holidays," she said.
"Sure," I replied.
"Are you okay, Ella? I've been noticing you for a few days—you've been acting weird. What happened? Tell me," Zinnia asked.
I told her everything.
"Steve is such a ******. Just forget whatever he said," Zinnia said.
"I can't. I want to know the truth, Zi. You're my best friend, and I want to hear it from you. Tell me what happened, and please don't lie," I said.
"He was not lying," she replied.
I was shocked.
"I genuinely fell for him, but at that time, I was already dating someone. It was a toxic relationship. I thought Steve would help me get out of it, but he ruined everything," she said.
"What the hell are you saying, Zinnia? What about Steve's feelings? He genuinely liked you," I shouted.
