Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Wooden Cabin and the Gun

After climbing up, they stood atop the roots and looked back, only to see a Wooden Cabin appearing in the distance.

A look of surprise and joy flashed across Mono's face.

If he remembered correctly, a gun was hidden inside this very cabin.

As long as he got that gun, he would be able to kill the Hunter.

When that time came, he would no longer be so passive.

The Hunter was still searching in the Stinking Gutter in the distance.

It seemed that after breaking away from the game's mechanics, the Hunter's actions had become more logical.

"Come on, let's go to that cabin over there."

Mono said to the Sixth Master.

The Sixth Master nodded.

The two of them slowly approached the house along the yard.

After a few steps, Mono suddenly saw a flock of crows on the path.

The crows were staying in front of the yard, incessantly pecking at a piece of rotten meat from some unknown animal.

"Don't startle them~"

Mono pulled Sam along, giving the crows a wide berth.

He believed that if they startled the crows, the Hunter would definitely discover them.

Naturally, Mono wouldn't make a mistake when he was clearly aware of the situation.

The crows continued pecking in the yard, not noticing the two Little people passing by.

The two of them successfully bypassed the crows.

Mono led Sam closer to the cabin.

The space inside the cabin wasn't large; it looked like a room used for storing tools.

However, it was empty now.

As soon as Mono entered the room, he was attracted by an object hanging on the wall.

A pitch-black object emitting a cold metallic luster appeared before his eyes.

A gun?

A Musket.

"Haha~ Great!" Mono couldn't wait to jump onto a chair. With a leap, he grabbed the gun stock and pulled outward.

Clang!

The Musket was pulled down by him.

Thud!

Pulled by gravity, Mono was unable to hold onto the heavy Musket. The Musket flipped a few times in the air before landing firmly on the floor.

Sam slowly walked over.

She circled the Musket a few times.

Mono climbed down from the chair, his expression somewhat excited.

He tried to pick up the gun, but despite using all his strength, he found he couldn't lift it.

This gun was too heavy.

Sam looked at Mono in confusion.

She didn't understand why Mono showed such interest in the gun.

"Hey, come over and help me. Don't you want to be friends anymore?"

Seeing that he couldn't lift the gun and turning to see Sam standing with her arms crossed, Mono couldn't help but feel a bit angry.

He, a useless person, was busy running around, while she, who was stronger than him, didn't even lift a finger. Did she really think she was some kind of master?

"Wait, I'm not useless!"

Mono seemed to realize that some strange thoughts had mixed into his mind and quickly shook his head.

Hearing this, Sam walked over without a word.

Then, she picked up the gun by herself.

Although the stock was still resting on the ground, she had indeed lifted the gun.

Watching this, Mono felt a bit uncomfortable again.

Can there still be love between people?

Is it really okay to discourage someone like this?

Fortunately, Mono's mental state was quite strong, and he quickly adjusted his mindset.

He curled his lip:

"Is being strong such a big deal? Just hold it and don't move!"

With that, Mono didn't delay and quickly ran to the door.

Scurrying out through the crack in the door, Mono looked into the yard.

At this moment, the bellies of the crows in the yard were much more bloated than before; it seemed they were quite full.

However, they still hadn't stopped eating.

They were still fighting over the rotten pieces of meat.

Mono glanced over.

Above the Stinking Gutter in the distance, a faint, massive shadow was still lingering.

Mono picked up a few stones from the yard, crawled back to the door, and then violently threw a stone at the crows that were still pecking.

"Eat, I'll let you eat!"

The stone traced a trajectory and landed accurately in the middle of the flock of crows.

Startled by this, the black crows immediately flapped their wings in a panic, flying toward the trees.

Whoosh!

The loud flapping sound echoed through the quiet woods.

In an instant, it attracted the dark shadow in the distance.

Snort~

Thump~ Thump~ Thump~

The Hunter charged toward them with frantic steps, gripping his gun.

A beam of light hit Mono.

Roar~

Having found his target, the Hunter let out a roar.

Mono didn't wait for him to raise his gun; having already prepared his move, he quickly retreated back into the room.

Then, retreating behind the door, he slammed the wooden door shut with force.

Hearing the commotion outside and seeing Mono's actions, then looking at the Musket she was holding, Sam instantly understood Mono's plan.

He actually wanted to kill the Hunter?

How could a Little people have the guts to face such a terrifying monster?

Before she could think further, Mono had already run over.

To prevent the Hunter from doing something unexpected, Mono quickly shouted to Sam:

"Hey, hurry and carry the gun behind the chair, and point the muzzle at the door."

Although in the game, the Hunter didn't use his shotgun when breaking down the door.

But this was reality; if he shot at the door from outside, the two of them might suffer greatly.

So Mono had to find some cover.

He had just checked the Musket, and there was nothing majorly wrong with it.

Soon, Mono and she moved the gun behind the chair.
